Greetings from Bochum, Germany. My bZ is coming in December. 500 meters test drive had surprised me very positively. Like I've been driving a car for a long time. In October 24, the bz4x was ranked first in the registration in Norway. in New Zealand it also seems to be well received. In many tests of auto testers on RUclips, everyone was surprised by the chassis, steering and also the sparkling power of the engine. Even with front-wheel drive. Currently, there is a good offer from Toyota in Germany. That's why I give up my very good Lexus UX 250h prematurely as a leasing vehicle. The dealer was very accommodating, because in Germany E cars have just a heavy stand. At the end of the year, you also get better offers as a customer. So. enough input. Another good time. Frank from Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia, good old Germany.
After test driving a Model Y, and Ioniq 5 & 6, we just put down our deposit on a used 2023 BZ4X AWD XLE / Tech package with very low miles. Coming from a Lexus UX250h, the Toyota was just familiar in quality and comfort but larger and with much more acceleration and quiet. My wife and I both love the pseudo heads up instrument cluster.
Very Good Video. You're spot on with Car, that's why I bought it. All the claims it's a bad BEV, is not true, It use Li-Ion Batteries from Panasonic. Li-Ion is Li-Ion, and you can't get around Ohms Laws In Europe we get 1 Million km warrenty on the batteries,
I HAVE ITS TWIN THE SOLTERA I AGREE IT IS VERY NICE TO DRIVE AND THERE IS ALMOST NO ROAD NOISE, WHEN IT COMES TO RANGE ONE MUST KNOW HOW FAR THEY TRAVEL ON A REGULAR BASIS. FOR EVERY DAY DRIVING THIS IS GREAT. HERE IN THE US I HAVE TRYED A FEW FAST CHARGERS AND THE TIME WAS GOOD OR OK NOT CRAZY LONG FROM MID 20% TO MID 80% IN ABOUT 1 HR LEVEL 3 CHARGER. ITS FUN TO DRIVE AND MY FIRST EV.
I have it too and love how solid it is. Driving it from ATL to DC in a few days, can’t wait. We have a Model Y and 3 in the family and this feels less of a throwaway car.
I just got mine last week after test driving Tesla model Y and Kia Ev6. I felt more comfortable driving this one as someone who has chronic back pain. The Tesla suspension was not good enough for me. My daily commute is under 20 miles.
The best thing about the Toyota Bz4X will be its appeal to the Toyota faithful. I think it has been much improved in efficiency compared to its initial release overseas. As you say it won't appeal to EV enthusiasts who will buy at a similar price a Tesla Model Y Long Range, Volvo EX30 AWD or Kia EV6 Air Long Range because or range, performance and charging superiority.
Love my 24 bZ4x over my 23 Tesla model 3 performance. It's just a better built car overall. If you want stupid fast acceleration get a tesla, if not get a Toyota.
Hey Richard! Enjoyed your review very much and now think I’d have to have this over a Tesla just because it seems more functional and quality, although I’m loath to support such an anti EV brand as Toyota. But luckily I don’t need to decide as I already have my Polestar 2 RWD which I just absolutely love for its sportiness, usability and range. Ps Interesting that Gavin also seemed impressed with the Solterra, so I just wish these Japanese companies were actually committed to EVs and moving away from fossil fuels.
Had a close up look at the Soltera (BZ4 in sheeps clothing), got to say its under whelming close up, the price is way to high - why on earth would you pay more for this than a model Y. The other telling sign was the staff couldn't answer simple question so obviously their investment in the shift to EV is not there, In contrast when I talked to the BYD or Tesla folk they knew their stuff, which I think will translate into better service. Why would you by an EV from a company that is one of the largest spenders on anti EV lobbying in the world. Have owned both Telsa and BYD cars and spent 2 weeks driving a Polestar 2 all good cars but Tesla is the go to hands down, 2.5 year of ownership - no issues and still makes me smile every time I drive it.
Wait. Is there ev owners out there that get close to zero percent charge in everyday use? I've never been below 19%. I like that youtubers push cars below zero so we know but why would I go that low there's no need.
Gee Rich, i think youre very kind... wheel panels scratch, how good charging curve is being debatable, no glovebox, wireless charging can be patchy, sunroof impractical, a lot of piano black, range less than an Atto, charger connection awkward, no granny charger. I agree that this will appeal to buyers who dont know what an EV should offer, and are traditional old school Toyota loyalists. There are far better options out there for the money, and even cheaper!
This 4WD model of the Toyota Bz4X is $82,000 when all models of the BYD Atto 3 and MG ZS EV are less than $60,000. This competes with the Tesla Model Y Long Range at $78,000 or Volvo EX30 dual motor at $79,000 both of which are much better EVs in my opinion.
My worry is that those that buy it may return to fossil due to it's various shortcomings, which maybe what Toyota wants, or perhaps if we're lucky they will instead drop their brand loyalty and switch to an EV that is just better. Mind you Toyota needs to do something as Jan 1 they won't be selling their fossil cars in Norway, they are barely if at all selling them in China now and then as we reach more milestone dates they will lose more market share due to not being able to sell any new fossil cars in other countries.
It’s perfect. We own the AWD here in Austria 🇦🇹 it’s Quality, driving assistance, seats, size, loading time, distance….. perfect and no problems

It is a very usable car. Range is really its only issue, and its not that bad.

Agree. One of the best review for that car. I just bought one. I had a Prius-Prime previously. Smooth move.
I get mine next month can’t wait ❤
Envy you. Have a 2022 Audi Q4 e-tron 45 quattro. Leasing ends Sep. 2026 only.
I just ordered men I got the black motion one here in the uk. I'm so excited I get mine the 26th of June
Great review. The BZ4X is really nice driving car and the AWD is phenomenal in snow or slippery conditions.
Couldn't agree more!
It’s true, no car is perfect, but the bZ4X is still an incredible choice for anyone looking to make the switch to electric. It has everything I need!

Thanks for the review, really liked the insights into how the car fit into family life. Waiting for the 1000km video! Keen to see the results.
Coming soon!
@@EVsBeyondwe are eagerly waiting. Looking forward
Nice NZ Blood service ad placement :)
Have this car. It’s immensely improved since this video. How many. Car Manufacturers give A million km. and a ten year guarantee. B Z 4 X 10:46 10:52

Is the sunroof standard on the motion?

Remmber it is not LFP battery. You only can charge up to 90% . Unlike BYD and Tesla.
The BZ4X base model sells for about $37900 AUD in China. Here Toyota as wanting $74000 AUD drive away. I think that might qualify as price gouging?

i heard battery degrades really bad after 1 year from one youtuber
Women can be fans of EVs as well.😊
I’d take this over the Atto3 or the ZS.

Like I said, I’ll take this over the Atto3 or the ZS. These cars will have low selling value when it’s time to upgrade in year 6-8

82k for an ev this bad is a joke. Your review seemed more like you were paid off to be positive.
RIDICULOUS PRICE 😂
A joke of a car😂
Coz you can't afford one 😂
@@davidrobson6874 I have Tesla Model Y - best sold car in the World and in Europe in 2023 and 2024
@stefanconstantinescu1576 of course you do 🤔😴😴😴
I have a bz4x awd 2024 and the handling and driving pleasure are great. Try it and let us know what you think. Try it and you'll love it! 👍
But it just has such terrible efficiency. It has a battery almost twice that of a LEAF, but gets about the same range.
