  • UNOFFICIAL video of Marine Corps Boot Camp circa. 1995. This video was shot at Parris Island, SC by two Marines from Recruiting Station Orlando, FL To help fight Recruit Depot attrition. The Orlando CO wanted to give recruits a first hand look at the training the young men were about to encounter, without the polish of an advertising agency. This video was to be shown to all recruits 30 prior to shipping to MCRD.

That ending speech is my buddy Gordon "Lou" Gregory, a Silver Star recipient. He's the real deal to this day. He hasn't changed a bit. Great guy and a better friend. Thank you for your service brother.

I was in around that time. The difference was that the D.I.s would jumble their words together incoherently so we couldn’t understand what they were saying. And we weren’t doing “sir” sandwiches in ‘95 at MCRDSD. Our response was simply, “Yes sir!”
