BMW E87 Park Distance Control module location PDC

Parking Distance Control faults in #BMW are mostly caused by moisture, when water reaches your #PDC module and shorts the connectors. Check out how to access the PDC module in BMW 1-Series E81/E82/E87/E88 to inspect of it's dry and not damaged by water.
You will need to disassemble trunk trim to access the control unit, as it's located in the bottom right corner of the car, under the side panel. Start with folding back row, removing everything from the trunk (including emergency kit, floor and bulb change cover), disassemble trunk light and 12V power outlet, remove plastic elements holding the mounting points and the remove the side trunk cover revealing the PDC module.
Parking system fault can also be caused by a faulty sensor itself and by damaged wiring or connector. You can inspect these from underneath the car.

I guess the leak comes from the back light poor isolation. It doesn’t come through the vent or boot rubber.

one of the sensors has popped out and fallen in behind the bumper on my wife's 120i one series e87. I read somewhere you can remove just the strip from the bumper that hold the sensors to gain access, is that correct?

I'm not sure, but you can look on eBay if it's possible to buy that part and how it looks. Based on that you can tell if the part is removable.

Zo i'm trying to find my PDC speaker in my e88(since i have no pdc sound). I've removed al of the trunk trim but no speaker. PDC control unit looks prestine. and all the sensors are ticking. I'm clueless. Got any suggestions?

If I had to guess, I would say it's the reverse gear sensor in the gearbox.

Witam mr-fix. Mam pytanie, co to jest w bagażniku na czym leżą śrubokręty. W moim E87 brakuje tego. Czy to jest sam wygłuszający styropian szary, czy jakiś schowek i do czego. Dziękuję i pozdrawiam.

U mnie było tyle wody że ten styropian pływał, a wode wylewałem szklanką z parenaście razy ehhh

Wywierciłem w takej okrągłej zatyczce dziurę żeby woda wylatywała, moduł przeczyściłem płynem do szyb + pędzelkiem lekko poszorowałem, pod kranem obmyłem, wysuszyłem i wszystko działa. Piszę jakby ktoś miał taki sam problem.
