During summer, humidity in the basement tends to be higher. I suggest to get a dehumidifier or ask your landlord to provide one. Dehumidifier prevents mold, dampness, and musty odour. In winter, dehumidifier does not need to run as the air is drier due to heater. Hope this helps.
