Brian absolutely owned every person in that audience in that performance. Honestly, that performance is on my top 10 list of greatest vocal performances of all time. Stunning. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

@@craigrik2699 you should look into how they make these shows. The audio and possibly the closeups are from an empty room, the rest of the footage from the live performance. They do it that way to give the illusion that it was more magical, but the real live version would have had people screaming when he hit high notes etc

Brian is incredibly talented with a beautifully emotional way of singing everything he sings. I get chills, too.
The momentary silence at the end of the song speaks volumes. Normally, that audience is cheering and vocally encouraging during any good performance. But it was silent from beginning to end because BJC had captured them from the first note.
Another mind-blowing singing competition performance you may enjoy is Joshua Ledet singing his cover of James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World” on American Idol 2012. It is packed with emotion and uniquely interesting vocal inflections.
The silence was clearly fake....you can hear when the sound was turned back on....that said Brian Justin Crum is a brilliant singer and deserves more accolades....he will, and deserves, to go far ....check him out on Superfruit "Rise"...they were all incredible!

Literally got goosebumps at the same moment even though I have seen this performance probably at least 100 times. The story before the song really adds to the performance. He talks about how he struggled his whole life with being bullied for being gay and how it hurt not only him but his mother who had to deal with his depression
I watched him when this was actually on TV and I still cannot believe he did not win! What an absolute shame that he didn't come in 1st place. He is amazing!!
The reason this version is so powerful because it showcases the ability of Brian's singing voice. It does not rely on a bunch of loud guitar struming to disguise a lack of true vocal talent. Just one piano in the background...The sheer passion and emotion in his voice is unmatched. This is what happens when a real singer, who was bullied all his life for being overweight and gay, finally rises above all odds and shows the world what's truly in his soul..
It is unfortunate that some of his fan base have not learned from his example. They have relentlessly bullied Grace on her videos, since she won AGT 4 years ago.

This is one of my favorite versions of this song. I first heard it when he sang it on AGT and have listened to it 100 times since.

@@EvansBrosRacing The reason I watch AGT and The Voice is for moments like this. When Brian performed this on AGT, especially knowing his back story, I was just blown away. It is such a wonderful song anyway, and his version, especially being live, is just off the chart. Can't get through it without tearing up. Another moment that blew me away was from this 13 year old girl named Laura Bretan. @@wajj1842 I had to go watch the link because her name didn't ring a bell as to who she was , but instantly when I saw her , I remembered her ! I am not an Opera person but I will never forget her performance , She is an amazing singer , and so young too . I cant sing , and I truly think people who are as good as her and Brian are truly gifted ! I know some can take lessons but it takes more than lessons to express emotion with song . Brian was on AGT when Ms Grace V won in 2016 - he was very a popular and emotional singer.
In case you're not aware this performance was from the same AGT season that Grace Vanderwaal won!

Ive watched this over100 times and it still is an awesome song by brian austin
You noticed how long the crowd took to respond, they call that the magic silence. That is where you have the audience so involved in your performance that they are suspended in time. It usually lasts only 1-2 seconds but it is deafening in it's lack of sound. He is that good. He has also sung with a couple members of Pentatonix in a group called Super Fruit. You should also see him in his finale on AGT The Champions. He performs with another vocal marvel Cristina Ramos from Spain, who has a voice that defies logic. They provide the music for a husband and wife knife throwing and whip wielding act, called Deadly Games. They do 'Show Must Go On'. If you want to see a performance that will leave you breathless that is it. It may spur you on to check out more of Cristina Ramos who has with out a doubt one of the most spectacular voices going. George is just a guest judge for the 2nd auditions.
The video was heavily edited by AGT with multiple use of this audience on other videos, you can't trust it was a real pause or they created it
@@Calers-gu1ib true but I was also listening to them during the performance and not much was going on then either which is unusual also. So if they can edit the crowd while he is singing then my hats are off to them for being able to produce such magic.
@@davidcochran6291 If you see the audience and him in the same shot then it's his but as far as sound is concerned you can't trust a thing unless the lol lips are moving. A few years before this Simon's film editors were attacked a bit on yt because some of the BGT editors got careless and didn't pay attention to detain. Straps were disappearing off guitars and things like that. While you believe there was silence when Brian finished well apparently the crowd was waving their arms up and down chanting Golden Buzzer Golden Buzzer but they edited that out of Grace's video. That is the reason Grace had her hand over her mouth before she got the Buzzer because of the crowds chant

I am sure that I have seen this reaction before. It is still great, both the performance and your reaction. He finished fourth, second among singers. 2nd and third were magicians. 1st was Grace VanderWaal 12-year-old singer, songwriter performing 4 original songs in the competition. George Lopez was a guest judge for this one episode.

I have now watched your reaction to Brian four times . . . you face says it all. There are a few artists/singers performances where I look for reactions because their singular performance is so special. When you see others react to it it is like a unique sharing experience.
Broadway version songs always seem to sound better especially if the original was sung by a Rock singer. Pretty sure he could sing Honky Tonk Women better than Mick but only a few Broadway voices ever got as big as Mick
I'm late, but nice reaction. May I suggest you react to Brian's new duet with Matt Bloyd, called "Tell Him", a cover of the Barbra Streisand/Celine Dion original. It's totally a mind-blowing performance.

Gosh, a lot of calls for PMJ's Creep by Haley Reinhart. That arrangement by Scott Bradlee was taped in the first quarter of 2015 and ended up being their most viewed video of all time. Just about everyone and their brother with a RUclips react channel has done one. Not my favorite Haley cover for PMJ (much prefer Seven Nation Army or Black Hole Sun but some of that might just be the orchestration behind her) but it definitely shows her range. I'd been a fan of hers (and Casey Abrams) since she was abused on Season 10 of American Idol.
Brian's version came out at the end of 2015 on season 11 of AGT. Just to place that into context, that is the year Grace won. And there was plenty of talented and popular acts on that season - Tapehead, Jon Dorenbos, Viktor Kee (liked his act a lot), and the very talented The Clairvoyants. It really was a surprise Grace won it compared to the polished acts these folks sported.
I have to admit I'm surprised somewhat that no PMJ performances have been reacted to by Maunalee (though it's true, most people want to start with that version of Creep). Scott Bradlee has put together such a great group of rotating musicians and singers. It will be interesting to see if Maunalee goes there.

He made it to 4th place. Grace Vanderwaal won that year. His backstory is he was bullied all his life for being gay, which you can certainly hear in this performance. The older woman they kept showing in the audience is his mom. This is one of my top 5 all time best singing competition performances across all shows. The total silence from the audience throughout is a testament to how captivating it is.

I think he got to finals,and in the last few tiers they have guest judges(george lopez,laverne cox,and a few others) I think they call those episodes judge cuts.
You are correct on that. I remember that year because it was probably the best finals lineup they ever had. Grace Vanderwaal won, The Clairvoyants were second, Jon Dorenbos third, Brian Justin Crumb fourth, Sal Valantinetti fifth, and Tape Face, Sofie Dossi, Laura Bretan, Linkin' Bridge, and Viktor Kees were eliminated earlier in the finals. The finals show was amazing and all the participants gave some of their best performances. Grace won but some of the others could have won on most previous seasons.

One of my favourite performances he does is with super fruit (2 members of pentatonix, Scott and Mitch) Mary Lambert, Mario Jose and Brian crumb it’s called Rise and is a Katy perry cover. Its quite interesting the band and in particular Radiohead lead singer Thom York hated the song Creep for a long time.

D Smith...I don't think they can be compared. It's like they are two different songs. Haley's version suites my tastes and she hit it out of the park. BJC's version is more emotional and a real tear jerker. I can see that they both accomplished what they set out to do and killed it. Going by reactions on RUclips, I think your point that he made the song famous may be a little weak judging by the sheer number of reaction videos, and the actual comments made by those reacting to Haley.
Those were legit goosebumps…. If you hear what he says at that audition and the reason why he’s so passionate about this song it’s breathtaking….
