the problem with the RG Zeta is that it transforms from a humanoid shape into a plane shaped-thing, the Unicorn is just a humanoid that turns into a more taller & bulkier humanoid.
yeah. not many of us thought about this particular aspect of the design. but considering how the mg apparently was, the same transformation, but smaller, sounded like a disaster waiting to happen.
I have this kit since its release and have transformed it multiple times. Of all the things I'm worried about "breaking",(The upper arm part you mentioned is the main one) the leg flap is not one. Especially since I loosened them a bit while I was building it. (Like it tells you to do in the instructions) Edit: Are you talking about the armor piece thats attached to it? Dude, in that case, you're simply gripping it wrong. And even then, the pegs used to connect it are rather thick and deep. What in the actual fuck are you doing to the poor thing that you feel like you'll break it?!?!?!
Channel 2S: Gunpla News hey there, mind your attitude. I was simply pointing out the fact that this is how it's supposed to be done, and it has worked fine for me and everyone else who has used it that way.
I heard from my friends that the frame varies in tightness. Some are too tight and some are just right, but never heard of it being loose. Then again some people don't '"excersice the frame before build anyways.
Well, this might be a weird suggestion but try putting a drop of baby-oil or singer oil in parts that you think are too tight since I did that to my RG Qan [T] when it had the squeaks in the shoulder and waist joints to make it more smoother to pose, but don't use WD40 since the can melt plastics.
Man your literally making the transformation complicated than it should be and its not fragile if you build it right you can actually play with it without braking the kit like me 😁
I actually broke the L-shaped piece that conects the arm to the torso and it was really hard to fix it. My advice is to try to loosen up the joints in the arm with dish soap, but BEFORE assembling the chest and arms, because it will be very dificult to dissasemble the arm from the torso after it's assembled.
I never used any of them. You only have to move the arm very gently as you slowly loosen up the stiffness of that joint, I did twist and turn slowly until you can clearly move the arm parts smoothly.
I built the Banshee version after hearing the praise people threw at this thing. The Unicorn is one of my favorite designs, so I was hyped to build it. I got to the arms, and the frame completely snapped on me when I was trying to loosen up the joints. I applied a little bit of pressure to the shoulder joint and the upper arm connection snapped immediately. Luckily I could glue it. My next issue is the thigh construction. Any kind of rotation or movement causes the transformation gimmick pieces to pop off. It looks fantastic, and the yellow inner frame is sick, but as an avid RG collector and builder, I'm still slightly pissed at the arm snapping so easily. 6/10
Davis Gwynn Owning the Banshee myself, you gotta be careful with it. I broke my Unicorn kit the same way so with this kit I made sure to not do anything it didn’t want to do xD
The gap in the torso isn’t an issue, it’s something I encountered too by playing with the torso. If it’s bothering you, just push the upper torso towards the lower torso, and that gap will go away
I love this kit. The unicorn gundam is my favorite mobile suit design and the rg was probably the most fun for me to build. Yea, some spots like the shoulder are SCARY tight, but it's not too hard to loosen them up. Definitely worth it though
In my experience, the bicep part is the stiff part of the kit. You have to twist it left to right carefully without putting too much pressure until you can rotate that part smoothly, rinse repeat until you finally adjusted that part to its original position as the instruction illustrated
I've played around with my RG Unicorn ALOT switching between Destroy Mode and Unicorn Mode in various poses and no problems whatsoever, so I don't get people who break theirs.
@@monkelover23 meh maybe. Or maybe they didn't follow the instructions to properly loosen up the joints by flexing and extending the inner frame before putting the armor pieces on. It's just that I think people blow it out of proportion. So loud and noisy but most other people I personally know who've built it have the same experience as me which is that it's a solid kit, if you actually pay attention to what you're doing while building it. Well except for one but honestly he doesn't even bother cleaning nubs from his builds so I wasn't surprised. Definitely light years ahead of most older RG kits that use the Advanced MS Joint System.
Hold up, where'd you find that RG version with the trans-green internals? Asking because I've been looking for one with green internals for a little bit now... Also, are parts swappable with the RG 1/144 Banshee? I have both the Unicorn and Banshee on order in the same scale, and am hoping to make a "custom" Gundam of sorts using pieces from both kits.
And yes, before you ask, I AM new to Gunpla building, and have also just recently finished watching Gundam Build Fighters, so... Yeah, I'm a bit overenthusiastic and probably have a few incorrect expectations for the whole thing.
@@letiwijaya1280 when's the RG green version scheduled for release, btw? Looking forward to that one... Also, how easy do you think it would be to throw a trans-am system onto the main body? Honestly, I need to look at more Gundam series to figure out what sort of body parts I'd want to throw together...
Caldoric its not trans am its psycho frame or something and i think it will work because there both the same model also i dont will the rg full armor unicorn come out
So is this your kit of the year so far or would that still go to HG Barzam or GM Sniper II? I personally have yet to finish any 2017 kits (except for Providence Gundam), and I got HG Zeta, Efreet Schneid, Hamma Hamma and Dragon Momoko Testament Gundam on my backlog...
I wouldn't recommend the use of Gundam Markers. For V fins they're ok, but it looks terrible on a larger area like on a shoulder or a shield. I usually save my markers for pipes or for minor touch-ups only.
+Kris Jou kit of the year for me is still the GM Ground Type for general overall quality, and RG Gold Frame for personal enjoyment. BD 1 is shaping up to dethrone the GM, though!
my rg unicorns arm joint is really tight, as for the neck joint i extended by adding more flat plastic then drilled a whole through it be carefull not to widen it.
Mine doesn't seem too tight. It is tighter than your average RG, but not by much. Use will loosen the joints a bit (which I did, it's just too cool to not play with)
Watch out for the arm joints (the biceps) (3:44) on the b runner they can break because they’re really tight so handle them carefully. Loosen them with extra care. You can find more details on reddit.
I remember I had this guy and somehow broke the hip joint, Then the right shoulder broke, And I was so confused since it was my first RG, And now I know why
I don't know about this, but I broke a part of the MG Unicorn while transforming. I'm now pretty scared of transforming pretty much anything now... So I don't know about getting this
Say what you will about all the unicorn kits but in terms of how to handle the transformation there's next to nothing new in all my years of unicorns. Two going on 3 PGs, numerous MGs including the first v.ka, ms cage hd color, titanium finish etc and always I had to do the same shit with pins etc. You even get TWO in the pgs and if you buy the LED kit seperate it comes with a part puller
Are we talking about a built kit here, or unbuilt in the box? Assuming you're looking for a kit to build on vacation or something, then this'll definitely keep you busy for a while. If you're planning on bringing one fully assembled... I don't know how well it'd survive.
All the commenting you did while doing the transformation was annoying AF! No need for all the rotate, swivel, attach, remove could have been left out & it would have made this video watchable.

You messed up the knee transformation. You're supposed to pull down the big back flap thing until the psychoframe part slides up.
Yeah alot of people including myself miss that at first then i saw the instructions on the side of the box (face palm)
Potate Dot EXE heck you can break the leg by doing that if you dom't properly transform it
