That bit about "50 discs" doesn't add up to me. Sega Saturn discs hold a maximum of roughly 700mb of data, and Dreamcast discs can hold about 1000mb. The game only came on 3 discs on Dreamcast, so it could most likely fit on around 4-5 standard Saturn CDs. Especially considering that version probably had much lower quality textures & models that would take up less space.
This kinda implies to me that the original concept for the game during the RPG Saturn development phase was waaaayyy too ambitious for even the Dreamcast, so once they shifted over to the Dreamcast they greatly reduced much of what they might have had in mind. Even then tho, 50 disks seems INSANE to even postulate needing for a single God damn video game.
Dreamcast is a console with very powerful compression tools. A GD-Rom contains almost the same size of data that a DVD-ROM, but condensed in 1.5 Go. Numerous game devs have talked about this peculiarity of the console. On the other hand, the Saturn was very bad at handling 3D, maybe the game was more demanding on disk space ? I think it's believable that for a Saturn game, Shenmue would have taken 50 CD-roms because of theses two points.
To everyone here, you are loved, things will be ok, never give up, don’t lose hope, keep going in life, you are loved always. ❤ by the way, there is no need for hate, meanness, or violence.

Something that just hit my mind, what if return of Donkey Kong was supposed to be something like a complete version of the game that included the missing pie factory level. Similar to the obscure Mario Bros Classic Serie that was basically an updated version of Mario bros made to be more accurate to the arcade version
Virtua fighter RPG sounds interesting. Pretty close to the time when half life came out, which involved repurposing an engine for a different kind of game and making it into a longer, more linear adventure style game, and that's one of the all time greats. 13:20 oh the game dev guy is on the right? Thank you so much!
calling announced but cancelled games "lost media" is really a stretch
If there were demos or builds made and then abandoned, then it would be still considered lost media.
@@JamesLawner Ehhh... someone has a build somewhere, maybe. Even if they don't release it, it's not lost media. Lost media implies the game was released at some point, and now is no longer accesible by any means.
@@TheSultan1470 well it can be considered lost media. Beta and alphas of course exist as the game was developed, but now canceled. It will be considered lost media.
As a gamer myself this video is definitely going to be interesting

@@repomanzilla That's literally a bot.

FYI: Established Titles is a scam.
I'm pretty sure they already know that, especially since this video was released 4 months ago
@@crimsonhero1729 Well the description doesn't reflect that... You can update that in real time, you know, if you care.
@@zachrywd They probably knew before they released the video, it was probably made before it was revealed to be a scam
Distrust was technically released, as the brilliant sister series "Zero Escape". Literally everything from Distrust became Zero Escape as it featured much more adult characters (mostly) and the whole branching paths too.
Lol at the sponsor, that hasn't aged well
Just seeing that cursed frog is ominous. Lol.
Thanks for talking about Distrust. 😌
nice vid! if your gonna make a part 2 (which you should) you should include the LEGO Space: The Videogame and LEGO Castle: The Videogame. Both were advertised during 2009 i think on lego sets and they were never released. Literally no information about can be found on the internet.
Back to the future needs an episode!!!
Something i've never seen been covered on RUclips are lost photographs. Anyways, Amazing video!!

Ugh! It's Been 18 Hours & Nothing Has Happened!
If Food Fight: The Videogame was coming to GBA and Gamecube, that means we likely aren't talking about one lost videogame, but 2, as it's pretty unlikely the GBA was gonna be a straight port of what we can see here.
I love the Crazy Frog.
Things like that from movies and video games.
13:16 Love the little note in the bottom indicating where the Japanese developer is in the photo, it's not like you can't tell him from Micheal Jackson lmao.
13:16 thanks for putting (right) I wouldn't have known.
Could Return of Donkey Kong just be the Gameboy Version of Donkey Kong that came out around then?
Note: Established titles is a scam
you know im not a youtuber but putting a 1 minute ad in the begining of the video sure is a good way to get people to click off it
Foodfight was the best movie I've ever seen, so I'm sure the game was awesome.
Something that just hit my mind, what if return of Donkey Kong was supposed to be something like a complete version of the game that included the missing pie factory level. Similar to the obscure Mario Bros Classic Serie that was basically an updated version of Mario bros made to be more accurate to the arcade version
"Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy" *snort*
The logo before Global Star Software that appears in 7:30 might be the Lionsgate logo
Virtua fighter RPG sounds interesting. Pretty close to the time when half life came out, which involved repurposing an engine for a different kind of game and making it into a longer, more linear adventure style game, and that's one of the all time greats. Interesting to think what could have come of that
I sure love dangit grandpa 😂
Ding Dong Porpoise?
Not established titles!!
remove the Established Titles scam
back in the day i remember seeing a movie theater commercial for a zelda game, this was in between the releases of wind waker and twilight princess, possibly before the gba release of link to the past, but I dont think the commercial was for either of these games, and all i remember is a dark tower and zelda standing at the top.
Happy Halloween bois 🎃🖖🏻

Established titles is a scam though
I just love when I go to an old video go like oh I never seen this one before I did see the establish titles and then I’m like oh yeah that dated the video
That foodfight HUD looks similar to a lego games.
i'm actually surprised you haven't mentioned LittleBigPlanet HUB yet.
nooooo cmon
Establlished Titles?!!!
I'm so sick of seeing that absolute scam conning one RUclipsr (and their audiences) after another

Nobody knew that it was a scam
Love clicking on a vid and seeing my favorite anime/game/manga series. Danganronpa ftw
