Kingdom Hearts VCast is probably the one piece of lost media that I want to see more than any other (except for maybe the original 3 hour version of Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie)
In addition to the mobile games that are completely lost, there are also TONS more that, while they *can* be found, you'd be hard pressed to find any real information about them online, or everything about them is completely buried and nearly forgotten. This doesn't even just apply to shovelware garbage; games attached to at least somewhat well-known franchises and had at least some effort put into them can get almost entirely forgotten, even by people heavily involved in the community for that franchise, only referenced by a sketchy website or two, or maybe a couple articles on page umpteen of a Google search. A case of "forgotten, but not gone," if you will.
I'd like to talk about Yo-Kai Watch Wobble Wobble. Yes the Japanese version PuniPuni still exists but WibWob had quite a bit exclusive content not in any other version like Libertynyan and it's 2 stronger forms, Mimikin and the ability to use photos of yourself in the game and events like Mystery Way
I'm a huge Cookie Run fan and I've played EVERY game in the series (well, the ones that were available in the US market, so I didn't play CR Kakao but I did play CR LINE which was the US alternative) but I also loved playing Devsisters's other forgotten original games, such as Pandadog's Pizza and Fishing for Mish/Get that Mish! I REALLY hope that Fishing for Mish/Get that Mish! was archived, since I can't really find images of the game anywhere or even any ripped sprites? It was a really fun fishing game that also had a ton of fun and unique character designs in it, and not that many people in the Cookie Run fandom are even aware of it's existence and how the game's mascot even had a cameo in OG Cookie Run :'(
Ooo!! I’m a Kingdom player (started playing when the Sonic event happened), but I do sometimes engage in the fandom, like I’m in the CRK subreddit; I also watch certain CR videos on RUclips. So what I’m trying to get at is that a Hyper Himes and All Things Lost collab could be possible to talk about Get That Mish!? 😳😳
Only One was finally “released” by ye recently as part of his yzy gap line. It was a mobile only game where you move side to side by tilting your phone collecting doves. I have some screenshots if you’re still interested in the topic but i could see why you wouldn’t want to talk about it anymore
There was a company that released a bunch of iOS games that have gone the way of the wind called Epic _____ Wars (Epic Chef Wars, Epic Pet Wars, etc etc). I have fond memories of feeding my son when he was a baby while playing them. They were pretty basic almost early HTML/BBS style games the way that they played out, but they were easy to play while dealing with the baby. I remember having a pet skeleton in Pet Wars named Skullen (like Skull N Crossbones lol). Sucks that they pulled the plug
I'd like to see a spinoff of this with mobile apps in general, one example could be the Hub Network's app, which had a very short lifespan from April 2014 to the network's shut down in October of the same year.
Come to think of it, a lot of apps have been lost over the years...Or at the very least, they are removed from the App Store and become extremely hard to find!
Nah, there are a bunch of other lost games: FFXIV: 1.0, Tetra Master for PlayOnline, Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode, Chocobo's Crystal Tower, Tactics S, Airborne Brigade, Artniks, World Wide Words, Explorers Force, World of FF Meli Melo. Not to mention unreleased games like Chocobo de Battle and Versus XIII
I know there isn't a lot of information but No More Heroes World Ranker is a lost NMH mobile game that Suda51 fans don't talk about much very often (or probably may not even heard of to begin with).
Kanye stan here, def felt like this was a distasteful and sort of a boring concept ever since I found out about it, but I wouldnt put it as bad intentions considering Kanye’s childlike creativity and thought process as well as his eternal grind to tackle every industry imaginable
The Angry Birds Flash with moving base in a cart with the birds getting powerful whenever you fill the power bars via hitting pigs is the one I remembered.
I remember playing this game on my first Android phone (you know, this pretty early version of Android that's not really compatible with the Google Android we have now) that was about building an army and fighting dragons, with cool monochrome graphics (the graphics kind of reminded me of patapon). I don't remember how it's called but I've been wishing I could replay it.
Thank you for talking about Before Crisis! Hopefully with the release of Ever Crisis, we'll finally get to see it remade and officially released in the West.
Oh man, the SMT/Persona series is full of lost Mobile games, like "SMT IF...Hazama chapter" being found and bought online by someone but with no way to dump the files
the persona series has been around for a long time, so it’s fitting there’s a lot of lost media related to it. mainly what comes to mine is that persona 2 has, ironically, two lost games, specifically persona 2 tsumi: lost memories and persona 2 batsu: infinity mask. there used to be footage of a small portion of lost memories, but the reddit user deleted their account and the youtube video containing the footage is unavailable. all that seems to remain are screenshots of the game and descriptions of the bosses. so unless someone has a phone that has the games downloaded onto it and it magically finds its way onto the internet, i can only wonder when the next time we’ll see anything about these games again will be.
There are already elements within mobile apps that are getting lost because of the fact that clicking download doesn't actually download it to a phone for some audio based applications. There's a series of meditations for the second Lego movie that only 52 seconds of one of them has ever been recovered for this reason.
It will be, the moment the cashcow is finally empty, they just release RAID 2 with anime girls, and shutdown the first one. Online-only games are a hassle to make it offline.
The first two versions of Ovenbreak (Ovenbreak 2009-2011) are partially lost. There is also a version of Ovenbreak that was released in Korea in 2012 known as Ovenbreak UP, which is mostly lost
theres actually a whole group of persona/SMT mobile games released for phones, most importantly, a persona 3 game thats a full on action rpg starring aigis before the events of persona 3, all of these games have become lost media, with only pictures or video as proof.
The Deep. It’s a metroidvania that you play as a scuba diver. It’s gone and there’s no internet memory of it. I loved it. Then there’s Eliss, the original multitouch bubble wrap. Amazing soundtrack and cool gameplay. It’s at least preserved in video form online.
I'm pretty sure this counts as defunct and not lost, but there was a game in the Cookie Run series known as Cookie Wars and was popular for some time. However the game myseriously stopped updating in about 2019 and it was found that one of the companies behind it, OrumLabs had shut down due to poor performance. And on April 16th, 2020 DevSisters had shut down servers despite wanting to keep them up. Footage exists online, but the game can no longer be downloaded or played.
the game itself has not been archived BUT all of the sprites, event banners, and other miscellaneous material has been archived on the Cookie Run wiki and the Spriter's Resource! As a hardcore CR fan, I did play CW and almost 100%ed the campaign (I didn't complete it though as I was missing meta relevant AKA pay to win characters like Mangosteen Ocelot, due to the notoriously bad pull rates the game had..... and I say this as I literally own every single cookie in CROB and CRK and have gotten them with relative ease) and to be honest you didn't miss much, as the game was much more sparse in terms of PVP or Story mode
Does anybody remember this game called puppy land online. It was some weird online game where you can be a puppy and, explore some worlds. It also had a sister game called cat friends that lasted longer than the puppy counter part.
years ago, i played a visual novel game on mobile called Kisses and Curses, and recently went looking for it to replay, but it's gone. really disappointing, i remember it being really interesting but kinda confused, like there were functions in the game that seemed entirely defunct, like a potion making segment that seemingly had no purpose cause you couldn't really use the potions. i would love if they released it again, the art was really good and i am still a little bit in love with one of the characters (Anastasia the witchhunter my beloved). it's hard finding anything about this game anywhere, either.
my favorite mobile game has to be "Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast" which a small fun fact, legacy has collaborated with angry birds a few times, the most notable being in "Angry Birds Evolution" where you can get Iron maiden's mascot: "Eddie" as a playable angry birds character
There are 2 app games that made me super sad seeing them become lost media... I played them a lot in school. Edo Monsters You hunt cute chibi yokai with a basket trap. To get a certain Yokai, you'll lay down they're favourite snack and wait for them to appear. The more you catch the more you learn about them. It was so cute and I would lay bait before going to school, and catch them when I got home. Notice Me Senpai It was in the same art style as 100 Husband/Wives and had similar gameplay to Edo Monsters and dating games. You own this café and attract the boys by turning on the coffee pot, and having certain decorations in the shop that a particular character would like. The more often a character would appear, the more they'll open up and talk to you. You could dress them up and they'll tell you little stories. And they all had unique interactions with the stuff you put in your cafe.
A few other mobile games that are lost forever are Degrassi (The Game) which was a mobile game released during the 11th season of the show which was similar in play style to those Chapters style games. Alice in Wonderland: A New Champion which was a mobile tie in for the Tim Burton movie and more recently Island Experiment which was shut down and replaced with a new game called Chibi Island. Also Hunger Games Adventures which was a tie in for the movies was shut down on mobile and Facebook. All these are lost games as far as I know.
This reminds me of my favorite game when I was younger, fantasica. I remember some of the art for it was done by someone who worked on final fantasy. Years later I wanted to find the art but found out the game was shut down and there doesn’t seem to be a proper archive of the art. It makes me sad to think about.
Techno Kitten Adventure was a fun Helicopter-style indie game that released in 2010. I still have it on my Xbox 360, but with the service shutting down I'm unable to play the full version. I know a mobile port was made years later, but even those are demos. I feel like it's a lost game now.
Ayyy another TKA fan, rare to see one. I had both the 360 arcade and ios games with the dlc purchased, and they had a kickstarter as well for a new game but it never hit its funding goal and after ios switched to 64 bit they didnt bother updating it. Definitely shaped my music tastes for uk/happy hardcore stuff There was also a android game up on the play store at some point as well but it was never updated with any songs so it was just a glorified demo at best
6:30 the 1st ad that pops up. Mino Monsters. Such a great game. Still have it on my old iPhone 4. I found out recently there is a Mino Monsters 2 which I have installed on an android device. I believe it's not even on Google Play. But Mino Monsters 1 was removed from Apple Store long ago. I can't remember if I was able to get it from my Apple account or if it was one of the ones I grabbed an ipa file of. Great game nonetheless.
I wouldn’t call it outright lost yet, but the fact that samurai vs. Zombies got discounted completely is quite sad for early 2010s mobile gaming scene.
This reminds me of how, back in 2015, (I believe) I used to see the game Spongebob Moves In advertised all over Nickelodeon, yet now, the game has been deemed unsupported and, even if downloaded, is unplayable.
I don't know how many others had a Nokia Lumia phone in 2010s, but I remember having one as a kid and WOW there were so many mobile games! There were normal games, but also straight up Pokemon games (not official) and one of my favourites: an Avatar The Last Airbender game. It's actually on multiple platforms and I think the name is Avatar The Last Airbender The Legend of Aang? It was completely free, but I never finished it because I couldn't fully understand English so I couldn't progress. Majority of games like these have been taken down and it makes me wonder how many others are just gone now
about that question related to FF7, even if there was an accurate enough remake that gives a similar or same experience as the original game, it does mean that there is a way to experience it properly, but the original version would still be lost media. also thanks for Clone Home coverage
I remember a 3D platformed game on the iphone called Cops and Robbers where you a robber running away from the police after stealing a jewel and reaching to your boss in a limo. I wanted to know if it still existed but couldn’t find it.
Another piece of lost media I can think of would be for the Tales of series. Similar to before crisis they had made several games for mobile around the same time, but the west never got to them and all servers to them were shut down last year. Although I do believe one of them, Tales of Warheit could still be playable in Korea if it was download before hand.
There are a ton of old java games for popular franchises like Resident Evil, Mega Man, Castlevania, Prince of Persia, God of War, Assassin's Creed, Tomb Raider, Batman, Jurassic Park and so on.
That's clever what you did All Things Lost, putting a Raid Shadow Legends ad in a video about lost mobile games since Raid Shadow Legends is a mobile game.
Gangam Style Massacre is very similar to another flash game I use to play as a teenager, you had to shoot an apple off a guy's head and if you missed, he died. I don't remember the name of the game but it may have had an influence in their idea to overhaul the game
The image for the video reminds me of my first phone which was a swivel nearly the same as clouds with the exception of the camera being on the back of the screen instead of the side... i miss that phone... I'd swivel it all the time in classes during grade 10
I know there are other people who get me, but I hardcore want to play Dragon Island Blue. It was a monster capture iOS game that now can only be played on old ipods/iphones and hasn't been able to be modified for current hardware.
Flappy FIghter is basically a lost mobile game since it was taken down after a complaint and has had no updates for years. Sucks too because that was literally the best mobile fighting game ever
kingdom hearts vcast was made by superscape and published by Disney, no involvement from square-enix whatsoever, I'm sure Disney regrets making it without square-enix or Tetsuya Nomura being involved and it's highly unlikely that it will ever be remade or be made canon
(copy-pasted from khinsider's compilation of Chain of Memories interview questions) ---We have heard that in America, there is a KH being developed for the mobile phone. Nomura: There are quite a few things concerning that... Officially it has nothing to do with the original KH. It's completely different. The title is KH, Sora makes an appearance but the story has nothing to do whatsoever with KH, CoM, and KH2, we're developing since Disney is designing it.
I remember SEGA had a port of Jet Set Radio for the iPad, with touch controls. I played it a lot and unlocked all of the characters. Sadly it's delisted now. I hope it's been archived somewhere.

Kingdom Hearts VCast is probably the one piece of lost media that I want to see more than any other (except for maybe the original 3 hour version of Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie)
Same, mate
In addition to the mobile games that are completely lost, there are also TONS more that, while they *can* be found, you'd be hard pressed to find any real information about them online, or everything about them is completely buried and nearly forgotten. This doesn't even just apply to shovelware garbage; games attached to at least somewhat well-known franchises and had at least some effort put into them can get almost entirely forgotten, even by people heavily involved in the community for that franchise, only referenced by a sketchy website or two, or maybe a couple articles on page umpteen of a Google search. A case of "forgotten, but not gone," if you will.
I love how Gangnam Style Massacre is just a ripoff of another bow shooter game, but what makes it unique is they gave it a BACKSTORY
I'd like to talk about Yo-Kai Watch Wobble Wobble. Yes the Japanese version PuniPuni still exists but WibWob had quite a bit exclusive content not in any other version like Libertynyan and it's 2 stronger forms, Mimikin and the ability to use photos of yourself in the game and events like Mystery Way
There's also "Curiosity: What's Inside the Cube?", for obvious reasons, considering the game was only playable for a specific timeframe.

A video on mobile games that have become lost, sponsored by the one mobile game that everyone wishes would become lost!
Only One was finally “released” by ye recently as part of his yzy gap line. It was a mobile only game where you move side to side by tilting your phone collecting doves. I have some screenshots if you’re still interested in the topic but i could see why you wouldn’t want to talk about it anymore
7:20 IPhone users talk about how android has a ton of crappy apps and then have this on their store.
5:16 i need you to understand the guttural, inhuman screech i let out upon learning this fun fact
If I made a game about my mom flying through the gates of heaven, I would hope I'd have more respect for her to not make it an endless runner
There's also a lost mobile port of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile!
I worked at Verizon customer service while KH Vcast existed and it made me want to get vcast just for it but I couldn’t afford a cell plan lol.
I'd like to see a spinoff of this with mobile apps in general, one example could be the Hub Network's app, which had a very short lifespan from April 2014 to the network's shut down in October of the same year.
Fun fact: “Kingdom Hearts Vcast” came out on my 5th birthday
It came out the same month I was born
We should add this to the wiki page
Happy 5th Birthday!
Came out when I was 3 months old
Come to think of it, a lot of apps have been lost over the years...Or at the very least, they are removed from the App Store and become extremely hard to find!
Com2Us is notorious for putting games offline.
8:00 from entire ff franchise only mobius, agito and awakening are lost due to being primarly online games that never got private server
I've never heard about World Ranker, but I love the No More Heroes games. If I do a part 2 I'll include it.
It's really weird that Kanye West would want to make a endless runner video game about his dead mom maybe even distasteful depending on who you ask.
Kanye stans on their way to defend it saying "ITS JUST ART!!!'
That was my first thought too.
Kanye stan here, def felt like this was a distasteful and sort of a boring concept ever since I found out about it, but I wouldnt put it as bad intentions considering Kanye’s childlike creativity and thought process as well as his eternal grind to tackle every industry imaginable
What about the lost Caramelldansen mobile rhythm game?
I love Caramelldansen and the Caramella Girls so I really hope that one gets found
Its found
You just need a old iphone.
@@marcovossenkaul8921 really?
Where can I find it?

Great video. I'm also hyped for the part of Ever Crisis that will touch on Before Crisis.
TapTap Muppets is another great one. If you ever make a part 2, make sure to cover that one
Thank you for talking about Before Crisis! Hopefully with the release of Ever Crisis, we'll finally get to see it remade and officially released in the West.
Oh man, the SMT/Persona series is full of lost Mobile games, like "SMT IF...Hazama chapter" being found and bought online by someone but with no way to dump the files
the persona series has been around for a long time, so it’s fitting there’s a lot of lost media related to it. mainly what comes to mine is that persona 2 has, ironically, two lost games, specifically persona 2 tsumi: lost memories and persona 2 batsu: infinity mask. there used to be footage of a small portion of lost memories, but the reddit user deleted their account and the youtube video containing the footage is unavailable. all that seems to remain are screenshots of the game and descriptions of the bosses. so unless someone has a phone that has the games downloaded onto it and it magically finds its way onto the internet, i can only wonder when the next time we’ll see anything about these games again will be.
besides, the server the games used to run on got shut down so it’s next to impossible to get them up and running again :(
Ngl I’m shocked to find out Raid Shadow Legends became lost media
There are already elements within mobile apps that are getting lost because of the fact that clicking download doesn't actually download it to a phone for some audio based applications. There's a series of meditations for the second Lego movie that only 52 seconds of one of them has ever been recovered for this reason.
Wow, Nancy Drew.. I didn't know my Favorite Game Series, would be Lost Media.
I was hoping RAID was part of the lost media
It will be, the moment the cashcow is finally empty, they just release RAID 2 with anime girls, and shutdown the first one. Online-only games are a hassle to make it offline.
@@lumirairazbyte9697 sounds hot
The first two versions of Ovenbreak (Ovenbreak 2009-2011) are partially lost. There is also a version of Ovenbreak that was released in Korea in 2012 known as Ovenbreak UP, which is mostly lost
so glad someone else is so haunted by Before Crisis!! I'm really excited that we're finally getting !
This was an interesting video! Keep it up!
I remember a Gangnam Style puzzle game on the App Store I used to play a lot when I was younger! Amazing video, you have earned my sub!
theres actually a whole group of persona/SMT mobile games released for phones, most importantly, a persona 3 game thats a full on action rpg starring aigis before the events of persona 3, all of these games have become lost media, with only pictures or video as proof.
Dude, you shouldve covered Corpse Party New Chapter, it's a lost mobile port of Corpse Party and got it's own article on the LMW this year
There are 2 app games that made me super sad seeing them become lost media...
I played them a lot in school.
Edo Monsters
You hunt cute chibi yokai with a basket trap. To get a certain Yokai, you'll lay down they're favourite snack and wait for them to appear. The more you catch the more you learn about them.
It was so cute and I would lay bait before going to school, and catch them when I got home.
Notice Me Senpai
It was in the same art style as 100 Husband/Wives and had similar gameplay to Edo Monsters and dating games.
Been waiting for this one for a while 😃
A few other mobile games that are lost forever are Degrassi (The Game) which was a mobile game released during the 11th season of the show which was similar in play style to those Chapters style games.
I wouldn't be surprised if the mobile games notorious for their misleading ads became lost media one day.
Definitely shaped my music tastes for uk/happy hardcore stuff
There was also a android game up on the play store at some point as well but it was never updated with any songs so it was just a glorified demo at best
That gangnam style game is actually a reskin of a stick figure game I played quite a few years ago, the original unupdated gangnam game that is
I wouldn’t call it outright lost yet, but the fact that samurai vs.
God the fact that a 3DS version of Before Crisis was on the table at some point is so upsetting. We were so close.
Fun fact: That Gangam Style archer game? It's a reskin of an already existing flash game.
That's clever what you did All Things Lost, putting a Raid Shadow Legends ad in a video about lost mobile games since Raid Shadow Legends is a mobile game.
Let's not forget some other flip phone games too. Saints Row had a port of the game on flip phones and they also had Call of Duty on a flip phone.
Lost media is a very fascinating topic tbh.
It's ok, you don't always have to sound excited.
Gangam Style Massacre is very similar to another flash game I use to play as a teenager, you had to shoot an apple off a guy's head and if you missed, he died. I don't remember the name of the game but it may have had an influence in their idea to overhaul the game
I’m surprised flappy bird ain’t here
The image for the video reminds me of my first phone which was a swivel nearly the same as clouds with the exception of the camera being on the back of the screen instead of the side... i miss that phone... I'd swivel it all the time in classes during grade 10
I know there are other people who get me, but I hardcore want to play Dragon Island Blue. It was a monster capture iOS game that now can only be played on old ipods/iphones and hasn't been able to be modified for current hardware.
Would be nice if you had playlists for media types like games, films, etc. All in one place
I can’t wait until RAID SHADOW LEGENDS is lost media.
(copy-pasted from khinsider's compilation of Chain of Memories interview questions)
---We have heard that in America, there is a KH being developed for the mobile phone.
There is also a fairly popular lost Mobile Game called G-Switch I think. It was a racing game with a spacecraft in space.
I feel your pain about before crisis....it haunted me for years
I didnt even know about Before Crisis until now BUT AS A HUGE FAN OF RENO AND THE TURKS IT SOUNDS LIKE SO MUCH FUN!
It's a delight of a game! Someone has an almost complete playthrough of it up on youtube, too. It's low quality but it's subbed!
great video this is always an interesting topic
BRO THAT GANGNAM STYLE GAME SCARED THE POOPIE OUT OF ME WHEN I WAS LITTLE
