I love how Johanna is so uncomfortable with the discourse while Kira is just playing along, lol. Both ladies are great, and I definitely hope to see Kira more often.
The '90s had a resurgence of vampires and this is one of the best of them. The vampires themselves weren't the scariest thing to me in this. It was all that Gothic horror atmosphere that creeped me out.
90's vampires movies are kinda a step above the rest of them not to say that I don't like some of the modern and I almost prefer the classic movies but it feels like everyone tried to make it both enjoyable and exciting also the 80's and 90's were more likely to involve the main thing that is associated with vampires as in blood
This was my introduction to Brad Pitt and one of my favorite performances of his. Also, Tom Cruise really surprised me as Lestat. The sets and make up effects where top knotch. Can't wait to see Tony Washington talk about this movie.
*Swooooooon at Kira* Love your shows. Great channel to play/loop whilst doing all the things around the house. This is a great ep, especially. I read books 1 through 8ish (thereabouts). Great review of Interview!
This movie is amazing! It’s also one of those things that with steaming and HBO, a good series can be put out. Based on the first three books alone they can crank out 6-9 seasons.
I would not trust any executive to put out a series about immortal beings and NOT let their inner “Cuties” fan influence the show now that Breaking Dawn introduced vampiric children.
Madeleine isn’t Louis’ first victim, she’s his first transformation. Louis makes it clear in the conversation about when he “used to eat rats” that he started hunting humans from Claudia on. Side note: whatever benefits it may or may not have, listening to audio books is literally not reading. But good review for a good movie based on a good book.
Tom Cruise as a vampire is awesome. I wish he was Lestat in Queen of the Damned. Him and Antonio were my favorite vampires in the movie. Queen of the damned was boring and made me miss the original cast.
Queen of the Damned could have been good but they turned it into an early 2000s movie aimed at teenage girls. And they combined two books into one movie which was just too much. When I heard the singer of Korn's voice come out of Lestat I laughed so hard when I first saw the movie as a teenager. So bad.
Kira, although a fun addition, really felt out of the blue in the Ghostbusters review. Good to get a bit more of her and flesh out her backstory, as it is, since we never got a *cough* proper introduction. She's killing it here. Hope she comes by more often!
Yaaaay! I love Anne Rice! This movie is a great adaptation, my only issue is that the role of a young, blonde, curly-haired boy was played by Antonio Banderes (although he's still good in the role).
I had read the first three books in the series several years before this movie came out. When I heard Tom Cruise was cast as Lestat, I was seriously doubtful he could pull it off. When I saw it I was blown away by how genuinely strong his performance was. He not only got into the role, he also added something to it. If you watch another Neil Jordan film, In The Company of Wolves, you’ll see see some familiar shots between these two films (the scene of the carriage coming out of the mist in this film, and the devil arriving in his car in Company). The soundtrack is in my top 5 movie soundtracks of all time. We would often have this in the background during Vampire rpg games. In terms of book treatment, there are some very smart revisions to the flow of the story. Not only did this help keep the film length manageable, but it cuts quite a lot of the ennui out of the story that bogs it down. This also helps bring it more in line with the tone of later books. Tony, bringing the Whig back!
These Johanna episodes are so hard to rewatch. It feels like she uses hating Tony as a crutch. If you hate your ex so much why go on his show? And complain when he dosnt have you on?
FUCK. YES. Kira is finally back. The GB2016 is the best episode of Hack. Mint and Kira are to thank for a lot of that. But just that ensemble of 4 came together an jelled like the Chicago Bulls on their 6th ring win. Those 4 girls are amazeballz. Now Tony... you aren't chopped liver. You are great. I love ya, homie. In fact, I'm wearing my "Tony Palmer" while writing this. (Man I work at a tuckstop in VA and when I wear this shirt I get to see some funny ass looks my way. And when they ask about it.... fun ensues.)
“Vampire sex is like pizza, in that even when it's bad it's good. It's designed to be enjoyed by eight or more people. There's a choice of toppings. And in the morning, you're like, 'Aah! Why do I have puncture wounds on my penis?’
Interview with the Vampire is an excellent film, I still watch it from time to time. I was not much into vampires, but goth women are another story. Kira looks amazing and her teeth are on point. 🧛♀️ She could persuade me to be turned.
on a more serious note, i played Vampire: the masquerade for ages, i've even played the card game with the unfortunate name. Now, the rpg took a lot of liberties with the lore material, but i believe some of the behaviours of the vampires in this movie can be explained using the rpg rules. Lestat should be from the "toreador" clan(even if in modern times he would be in the Sabbath, not in the Camarilla): he is super fast, can read minds and has a magnetic presence( in game it's represented by the celerity, auspex and presence disciplines). Those are core toreador traits. They are also obsessed with aesthetics and Lestat certainly is too. Louis on the other hand would be a Brujah(which is weird since his "father" is a Toreador but i think in the books it wasn't defined yet): super fast, has a sort of animal magnetism about him,he however can't read minds, but has superhuman strength. Those are core brujah traits. Brujahs are the idealists, dreamers and knight errants of the vampire world, which fits Louis perfectly.
I saw this movie on tv when i was like 6 yrs old. It was pretty intense. I watch now as adult and its not nearly ae intense, but still an entertaining flick
I grew up 20 mins away from one of Anne Rice's homes in New Orleans. I went to a gala there once. My grandmother who raised me was obsessed with her books so I saw this movie when I was in 3rd grade and it has been one of my favorites since then. I was even Claudia for Halloween that year. Funny enough my Maw Maw was ok with me seeing all the murder but she always made me cover my eyes during the stage stripping scene. She also wondered why I got in trouble for singing Sympathy for the Devil in Catholic school.....
I think Santiago knew Lestat. They were friends and that is why he killed Claudia and the other woman vampire. That is why he seals Louie the way he did.

Jesus Christ, "Interview With The Humpire!"
You can't kill Tony with garlic. He's an Italian vampire!
Kira is a very good addition , nice commentary overall.
Yeah she is funny
@Rimone Media i thought she looked good in the ghostbuster review, but here she's gorgeous
She is pretty lovable and cute too.
More Kiraaa
Ok
The Vampire they fight in Transylvania may have been scarred by Akashas burning before Marius was turned.
I love how Johanna is so uncomfortable with the discourse while Kira is just playing along, lol. Both ladies are great, and I definitely hope to see Kira more often.
Tom Cruise really shows what a great actor he is. Perfect Lestat.
Kira is absolutely precious.

TOM CRUISE made BRAD PITT famous in this movie
Kira - "Yeah like, vampires are really bad parents" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great episode. It was nice seeing Kira again.
Very good review. I'm glad that Tony is familiar with the books and was able to point out many of the differences as a bit of backstory and stuff.

Before her death, Anne and her son Chris were working to develop the Vampire Chronicles into a TV series.

Tony and Johanna's chemistry is so wholesomely hilarious lol
I love this movie. But the obvious question, why is Tony cosplaying Trollzart from Trolls World Tour?
59:39 Dominic Noble is the channel and the show is called lost in adaptation
Great job everyone 👌👍😁😁 my only suggestion for this channel is ..........add more Kira
You'll love Monday's episode
I'll be there, I'm watching the tremors Movie Series episode now,, Having a great time! 👍

Awesome episode Kira is the best!
The Vampire Make Up Effects were designed and created by Stan Winston Studios.

Enjoyed this video, no long, drawn out rants by anyone. Kira is a good addition to the crew!
i just went back to start rewatching true blood. i'm seriously down to watch ya'll talk about tv shows too.

Great review! We also thought it held up well. Solid pod!
omg I can't believe this is what the new video is about , I literally watched this randomly last night

Rip Anne Rice.
It would be in the best interest of this channel to include Kira on a regular basis.
Heck yeah. Kira!
New air time? Usually they premiere at 8pm EST…
28:00 Tony going into his Norm MacDonald bit. "You know, the more I hear about this Hitler guy, the more I think something should be done about him."

Elliot goldenthal plays The same f*cking music score in every movie ....but fits perfect everytime!!!!
Really enjoyed this episode! I like the longer run times!!
To be fair Italians, Germans and, the Irish weren’t considered white till like the 60’s
