KSR stuff is amazing. I only have ceres preamp but that is one hell of a preamp!
I build amps but don’t have much experience with high gain styles. This channel should help me know what you guys tend to appreciate!

As an owner of a Orthos I have to say I love mine. Kyle is awesome to work with and he'll build it with your choice of output tubes, mine has 6550s in it and it kills.
Best amplifier I’ve ever heard you play! You own tons of nice stuff, however for ME this KSR Orthos destroyed everything else. No contest. Great demo!🤘
I think the SLO, avenger, quickrod and others sound with more harmonics, clearer and less sterile than this but they are all close enough. This is a rectifier type circuit under the hood or SLO modern style if you like.
It also reminds me of a 5150 with some of the voicings. It is relatively versatile to almost mark IV tight tracking which is nice but his other videos still sound better to me. I wonder how it is in the room.

Sounds awesome! Only ever played a Colossus and an Ares and they both sounded top notch. Shame they aren’t easily available in Europe.

Dang dude! That thing sounds incredible. Punchy, yet creamy. Sweet, but mean as well. I never heard of KSR or Rhodes amps before until about a month ago I watched another channel called Tone Wars and he did a demo and I thought it sounded really good. But I think you made it sound even better! I might have to take a serious look at an Orthos!

Man this sounds incredible! I have the Ceres Preamp pedal and I love it. I can only imagine how much more epic it must be to play through one of their amps. The Ceres is my first analog experience. its own cab doesn't really mean much since they dont have a standard speaker configuration, it's all custom order

Amazing amp. Why do you like boosts so much on other amps? I never got into boosts but I love hearing tour opinion.
KSR is just... kickass... had a juno but sold it (stupid me)... it did not bond well with an orange cab i had ..should have kept the amp and dumped the orange ppc. Something about the juno just did not gel with those V30 it was super shrill. Orthos through this engl cab sounds great. I liked the deep switches in imagining if i'd be in a 1 guitar band. Since we're running two guitars flipping those switches off would create sonic space for 2 guitars. It just sounds healthy, lush, enough grain to push you through the mix. Love it!

Isn't the ares the same gain channel as the Orthos but a different power amp, probably just that

Agreed, the amp is fairly smooth on its own. The Engl adds some upper mid bite and the amp benefits from it

I'd love to be able to afford an amp like the Artemis someday.... But for now i have a Ceres Preamp and it just destroys every amp modeller and preamp pedal I've ever tried. Well okay the Neural DSP / Fortin stuff is amazing, so it's on that tier.
of course i am not in the room to hear what it actually sounds like, but to me, it just sounds identical to a 20 year old dual rec.
They sound nothing alike in person. Not even close!

KSR amps generally was designed as a better 5150. And to me, it is better than most 5150 amps, including 5153

@@belligerentamateur What ? It's imo one of the single best boost/OD pedals out today. Not only does it have that KSR quality behind it but it's loaded with options. It's so versatile. I got one if you ever want to review it. You're going to love it.

I actually just ordered one, they were on sale last week so I picked one up. but at the same time, I have a lot of overdrives that aren't on my board. I kind of just stick with the ones that I'm digging at the moment

Cool tones, but I constantly wish you would do runs without noise gates. And least on/off to get an idea of how controllable it is.
