Ohtani had been mired in a slump since mid-May after getting hit by a pick off throw and suffering a hamstring contusion. However, in the past few weeks he's really started to heat up and is once again looking like the NL MVP.
At this point I think the 700 mill was a crazy steal. If they can cement Ohtani’s baseball career and make his name synonymous with the dodgers (like Kobe to the Lakers), it just brings further generational prestige to the brand’s future (or at least that’s what I think)
