Vince was a fabulous pianist and entertainer in his own right. He would have been aware that Liberace gave him the opportunity of a lifetime and appreciated him for that. Their parting of the ways was due to another 'companion' who did not want Vince around.
according to what I read...talented as vince was...he left his kids and wife to be with lee....and had problems with the law...stole a car crashed it...lee had to use all his influence and power to keep it out of the press and pay everything off.....so he kinda wore lee out the wrong way...and he became unhappy...so then thorson turns up...and after vince's contract was up he was out...ive read this is several sources...im a musician myself...and vince was talented and good looking..where as throson was just appeasing to lees eye..
Roger Darias (Rogelio Darias) on the congas... The greatest percussionist from Cuba who came to America in the 40's with Xavier Cougat. He helped many cuban musicians such as Chano Pozo, Rolando Laserie, Francisco Aguabella, Patato Valdez, Chocolate Armenteros, Walfredo de los Reyes, Bebo Valdez and many others outside of Cuba... See the video "Rogelio Dárias, 93 year old bongo player"
Vince was a extremely good looking dude. He was married at some stage snd gad two children. He passed away several years ago very sad to hear that He was extremely successful after leaving Librance. Sadly missed.❤❤
Guess I was wrong TWO men can play with their hands above their heads!! Wonder how far he went under Lee's wing with the piano? Did he kind of replace him in any way or carry on his legacy? Would have been a great one to pass the baton to!!
Grew up in Yonkers with Mr. Cardell's children Anthony and Christine. I remember their Mom looked like a Vegas Showgirl beautiful woman. I just want to reach out and say I'm sorry for being not so nice. I hope everyone is well!!!
He didn't say he turned intp a pianist in two years. He said he learned to READ music in two years. He began by ear... which MANY & quite possibly even MOST pianist do. It's VERY possible. Further... If you have an intuitive musical intuition and you are cl committed to it, it is actually VERY possible to learn the piano brilliantly in two years having never touched the instrument. I've had MANY students who've done it.

I was born in 1952 and even as a young girl I absolutely adored Liberace! To see him perform this with Vince is amazing!!
As a brazilian I've been listening this song my entire life and I have to say that such thrilling rendition is a big surprise, simply marvelous.

Liberace was great. And he loved dogs.
i guess that was at the time when they both hated each other dearly already.
but - lee was and was and was superprofessional on stage.
Yes! By this time, Vince was tired of playing second fiddle to Lee's prominence on stage....it was time for Vince to leave!
bach baroque lee definately treated his showpartners generous and equal.
