However, the single tracking between Los Angeles Union Station & El Monte bottlenecks how many more trains can be added on unless they double-track it somehow. Maybe an extension of the LA Metro Gold L line from Azuza to Rancho Cucamonga could work.
I looked for this video just for that reason. I also looked at how long it takes from Rancho Cucamonga to Union to see if the HSR is less than 4 hours total travel time.
@@checkoutmyyoutubepage It is an hour and half from Los Angeles to Rancho Cucamonga on Metrolink, then two and half hours to Las Vegas on Brightline. So about more or less four hours from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. The Brightline train has to be extended all the way to Los Angeles to be a more viable option than driving for a larger portion of the LA population.
@@antsoltravel double tracking and adding electrification to allow brightline direct access to LA union station would be most ideal however that definitely seems like a far fetched dream. The gold line extending to Rancho Cucamonga also seems like a good idea since it’s higher frequency. At the very least brightline can create their schedule with the metro link schedule in mind to make easy transfers.
