ah the Erie Lackawanna Railroad was The Friendly Service Route , i had the privilege to ride the nice mu cars for a while in the early 1980s, they were still around then... great video !
EL is one of my absolute favorite fallen flags... I'm usually into the mainline across Indiana, but way out east was so much more scenic. Also love that shot at 27:10. Great angle and it really shows how much the trains swayed on the old jointed rail they didn't have the money to maintain anymore.
I've been to the Starrucca Viaduct a few times but have yet to catch a train crossing it. That footage of the rail cars swaying on the viaduct as they pass high over that house is a bit concerning. BTW, I think that house is still there. If you look it up on google street view and compare the windows and layout it looks like the same building, but with a nice cosmetic upgrade, new siding, etc.
Erie Lackawana was a great Railroad. One of the best of the Fallen Flags.
What outstanding footage. Thank you!
I love the big E.L

Back when big time railroading was genuine. And little to no ghetto graffiti!
