This is a lovely video. I was a member at Crail for 34 years, resigning around 1990, I think, and played the Balcomie course many, many times. Rach is absolutely right - it is a course of great character with lovely views and, short as it is, some holes which you have to treat with great respect. Even way back in the 1950s, when the course was owned and managed by the town of Crail - in other words, a municipal course - it was very popular with visiting parties. I seem to remember that membership of the Society then was just less than a fortnightly summer vistitor's ticket (that is, around £2 pounds 10 shillings). The Society bought it from the town when regionalisation took place - it cost about £40,000, and there was a grant from the Sports Coucil of £12,000. Since then it has never looked back. Now there is also the Craighead course, longer and challenging in a different way (especially when it's windy). A day at Crail, with a round on each course and lunch in the clubhouse with its spectacular views, is quite something. ⛳🙂
You swing the club beautifully. Jealous doesn't cover it I have the good fortune of being a member at Crail and absolutely adore it. Even on a benign day, Balcomie has the ability to lay unexpected trip wires. Glad you enjoyed it -can you do one on Craighead too teach me how to get round it!! Thank you for the video.
Heard you say "Go go go, got to go" off the 4th tee and all i could think is this expression must be the most common words uttered on tee box on 4 and on 5 "Hell's Hole". Great video.
Good round👍Play Balcombie every Friday brilliant course - never seen it so benign - in true links style when the wind blows you know about it Hell’s hole lives up to its name
Which tees were you playing from? Very interesting to have some very short par 4s and some over 440. Even though you were disappointed in the final total, it is impressive how well you get around the course. Feel like when all parts are "on," you are going to put up something scary low. Love the tracers and commentary! Great video, Rachael!
It may look like that, but it is nether flat nor simple. You need to try it!! I was a member for 34 years and played it in all sorts of conditions ...... even the short par fours can bite you.

Played it couple of weeks ago - Alfred Dunhill Links weekend. We got the proper treatment with wind and rain.
Well played Racheal . Back on tour soon for you then .
🤣
I'd really like to see some video about what you're working on with your game -- long and short, both.

Still hitting the D9's? Nice round.
Looks to me like a flat, simple course on the water. Lacks character.
