  • In this video, I review the new high-performance big air kite from Ozone. The highly anticipated Vortex is meant to be an Edge with magic dust but can I feel the difference and is it worth the extra money?
I test the 8m in three wind strengths:
    - Light (15- 25 Knots)
    - Medium (30 - 40 Knots)
    - Strong (40 - 50+ Knots)
To do an in-depth review of how the kite felt, I needed to experience the kite in many different conditions. This meant I couldn't rush and had to wait for the opportunities to arise. This is super difficult for me as I have a three-year-old, another baby on the way, a watersports school and shop and have just moved into a new house. It's all happening!
I hope you all enjoy the video and apologies for the length of my ramblings!
If you want to try the 8m demo kite with Tide Watersports then get in touch by email or phone. All contact details can be found at www.tidewatersports.co.uk

I’m thinking about picking up an aluula kite but I’m still not sure which one, I’m leaning towards the XR pro, but I wonder if the extra bridal attachment points make a huge difference. It seems to me that they might be unnecessary because the aluula material is more rigid so it should hold its shape without the extra bridal points. I think I prefer the XR pro because I like 5 strut kites and it’s stabilizes the canopy better holding the Dacron in place better. That’s my logic so I would say I’d prefer more aluula struts to excessive leading edge bridal attachments. But what do you think?

It really depends on what you want from the kite. If you want a big boosting kite, the five strut may be the way to go. If you want a kite that loops quickly, a three-strut would be the perfect match. I would say to try and demo these kites back to back if possible so you can feel the difference before making a purchase.

Before watching this video I was sure the Vortex is just an overpriced copy of Edge. But now I have to save up some money 💰 😅

We're you using gopro? If u turn it sideways you can see the kite too .then just edit video after to rotate pictures

Yes, I'm using a GoPro. I try to keep to landscape for RUclips edits and only switch to portrait when creating Reels. I find if you crop and rotate the portrait shots in editing you lose a lot of the video quality.

@mikethekite ok 👍 good video though my 8m should arrive this week I've currently got the 9m on demo ,I'm really enjoying it. Yet to take it out powered though. Only had the 9m in 20 to 28knots but still got a 13.4 on my woo ,loops are good and back hand heli loops are really smooth 👌

@@rolandparry2022 Thanks Roland ☺ It's a great kite and I'm sure you will like the 8m. It comes alive on those 35+ days! Can't wait for some more strong wind to fly it again.
