Did you have the safe on a cemented floor or a different type of flooring? I'm wondering if I'll need to move the safe out of my bedroom closet (carpeted) and into the garage (cement) .

Try new batteries first even if the battery light doesn’t come on. I installed new batteries and it opened right up

My Sentry Safe, Model SFW123ES, serial number beginning with A9, did open using the rocking technique shown in the video! The rocking motion moves the solenoid plunger out of the way momentarily. To relieve binding on the plunger at the end of the forward rocking, lift up on the handle just prior to pushing down. If I push down on the handle too soon, the solenoid plunger may bind and the safe won't open.
Be sure to remove the battery tray first. I did see a red light flash on when the safe was rocked. I don't know if Sentry Safes added something to detect rocking and thwart the technique. Without power, the electronics can't interfere.
The solenoid is mounted inside the door. On this model, its plunger needs to move toward the front of the door to move out of the way and allow the handle to turn. A possible refinement of the technique would be to put the safe on a dolly, strap it down tightly and roll the dolly, safe door first, toward a fixed object. When the dolly strikes the fixed object, it and the safe should abruptly stop but momentum should carry the solenoid plunger forward, out of the way of the mechanism. to briefly allow the handle to be turned to open the door. I don't think the dolly needs to roll very far, probably less than a foot. I have not tried this technique, but, in theory, it looks like it should work.
This method will only work on electronic safe models. Mechanical safes do not have the solenoid. The solenoid may be oriented differently on different models, requiring modifications to the technique.
When performing any of these procedures, please keep safety first. You could suffer a serious injury if you aren't cautious enough.

So if you bolt it to a concrete wall and floor it should be ok. The problem being that I live in a timber framed house. Which I love by the way, so I’m not moving. 😊

I know that sentry safes are not 100% safe, but that is not what they are made for. The core business is fire and water resistant safes.
And if you have such a safe, you are not doing it right if you do not mount it firmly in the floor or wall with chemical anchoring.
This will prevent situations like this.

Stop wasting your time rocking it- pick it up three feet off of the ground and drop it on the front left bottom corner. works every time, ex vice cop trick.

I had been planning JB weld one of these (SFW123DTB) to a steel plate and then secure that plate to the floor (jb weld the bolts too as they would be exposed) so i could retain the fire/water resistance and have it secure. After seeing this those are these just totally just for actually securing valuables? I'm having a hard time finding a good safe that isnt going to cost thousands of dollars.
