@@Ang3lBag3l Yes, unfortunately she has passed. :( But Joy took excellent care of Antonia, even after her retirement as a service dog, & up until Antonia's passing. The love between the both of them was very evident, and Antonia was a wonderful girl who did an excellent job as both a service dog and a lovely companion. :)
The black dog you see in the video, is her new guide dog, Arabella. Antonia passed in December 2018, however Joy received Arabella as a graduated guide dog around February of last year if Im correct, as you can see Arabella and Antonia are acquainted in this video. I’m so sorry. My mom is my sister and I’s best friend and I don’t know what I would do without her. Hopefully you can find a mother like person in your life. I am sure there is a mom out there just waiting on their daughter. Plus you can always have that relationship with kids of your own someday hopefully if that is what you want!

Deveily E A mother is when someone takes care of you and loves you, she doesn’t have a mother by her side. She doesn’t have one, yes her “Mother” gave birth to her but just cause someone gives birth to you doesn’t mean their your mother, the woman in the video is a mother.

I find it interesting this channel choose to tell pivotal parts of this story about blindness in an inaccessible way - like at 2:07, where it explains how and when Joy lost her sight, but does so through text on the screen with no audio cues. You'd think they would be especially cognizant of that for this video.

It's so crazy! On a video about blindness! I can read it so I can see that the text isn't even just extra commentary, it's super important information! And they didn't even transcribe that text in the video description.
She's done such a good job on raising these two beautiful young ladies. They'll surely grow up to be amazing strong women like the one she is. Shout out to her husband too, for being very supportive and loving. What a beautiful family despite all the hurdles and struggles. Joy Ross and her family are an inspiration. 💗

As a totally blind mother I can totally relate to this video. It touched my heart so much. She described what it’s like raising children without vision so well. I can never seem to find the right words. Thank you for this video.

This deserves so many more views. Her saying that she sees so much more now, despite being blind, is a lesson we all should learn. The world is so much more than just what we see. What a beautiful story and a strong amazing woman. Really makes me appreciate what I have a lot more
I agree. She is some kind of wonderful. I can see, but I don't accomplish anything, so I am blessed to see Joy in all her glory, her sadness, in this video, and her beauty, able to do more than I do, with sight. She smiles and it commands an instant love and respect for her. She is able to touch the soul with her words, a truly beautiful glowing spirit. I have crippling arthritis, but to watch Joy, I don't feel as bad as normal. Now, I can just feel untidy, and overweight. And, re-think the ugly way I dress. Lol ~xo

@@Aphobius well the first didnt seem to be planned, and I tried to find info on the heredity of her condition and theres barely anything. It is truly a statistical anomaly that her children have conditions, and joy shouldnt be blamed for that. I'm against parents with life altering conditions having bio kids if theres a 50, 25, percent chance but this situation seems like the chances were far lower and a reasonable choice to balance.
This title is kind of problematic. No one overcomes their disability. They learn to live with it. WITH, not DESPITE. ❤️

That woman is either selfish, since she wanted kids very much, but totally ignored what they'll go through because of that disease, she cared only about what she wanted. Wow wow wow!! I randomly found this video and I too have Juvenile Rhuematoid Arthritis! Thank Gd a million times over that I never developed uveitis. I have 2 children now and every time they complain of my symptoms I start to think, “ No! It can’t be that they have it too!” So far so good everyone is healthy. Keep up the AWESOME spirit! when he said "we'll leave it to god" I rolled my eyes and I was like Yeah, leave it to him to fuck up everything up. But they really are a testament to what humans can do and overcome, what incredible story of love and strength.
My mom is blind and has been for 14 years and I was only 9 years old when she lost her vision. It is very hard losing your vision and it’s hard on everybody but it’s easier when you have a supportive family.
I love watching Joy’s videos! She is so positive but also very genuine.

🌻Hi, I'm Linda.I speak like this. I was blinded in my tween years. Many surgeries an a few years of no sight an living in a hospital 100+miles away from my family, scared to death at every quarter of inch of movement made it hard.
Being alone & a scared youth. I was injured in an accident. An electric high line broke, went in my right eye and came out the back of my head. My mom put her feet on my chest and told me to scream as she pulled that electrical wire back through brain, an out the eye socket, with eye coming out also. I could feel it when it hit my cheek and felt brain matter rolling down my back.
Sight partial returns in left eye, an a few years I got a minimal sight back in left eye. I was an am blessed to have been given anything back. Was told by Surgeon's I'd never be able to regain enough to be able to drive. Well, they thought it, God said she's got something to do, an he was rite. I saw to live and do thing's. Got my driver's license, saw my husband, then a year later, I saw our only child born 9-7-75,
