Not sure if you're aware but people who were actually working on GFL originally jumped ship and started working on Arknights because GFL used to be the most F2P friendly gacha game especially since gacha was optional but still they got plenty of money because people were willing to spend money on a game they enjoy. People working on the game wanted that and were unhappy when the game took a turn. Now Arknights stole GFL's place and former people from that team work on Arknights. GFL used to be one of the most enjoyable games for me but these guys don't really care about their players and it has been showing for a while now. They've been hyping this game up but I guarantee it will become a great disappointment. As sad as it is to say, GFL is dead and it's very unlikely that it's coming back. Enjoy what you want but don't get too excited for this game.

It's an X com like game many people love X COM including me so this game will feel like home to me when it's out on GLB (including chucking my S23u out the window when I miss a 95% chance to hit)
Shame they took the cheap cop out approach to story telling. Instead of making the main characters genuinely powerful or skilled... they just made all enemies grossly incompetent and physics show favoritism. They us ean explosive, it deals proper damage around it, enemies use explosives, unless the blast starts right on your face they'll be ok. Enemy has heavy armor, bullets punch through it from even handguns, main characters use it, or even grab the exact same shield of the enemies for a moment, and now it's suddenly resistant to bullets and is a tough hunk of metal. They shoot, it's like magic with their bullets hitting like they can actually aim... the enemy shoots, they can't hit the broad side of a barn. They fire with a sniper rifle and it has power and kick even against armor... enemy fires from giant MGs using similar or even larger rounds... and they're blocked by any and every random bit of cover even down to random walls or thin hunks of concrete or sheet metal. The only protagonist unit that wasn't shielded by these, were the security turrets they used, as they showed them firing... at the ground... when there were swarms of enemies running up. Like, twin miniguns, target rich enviornment, lets just shoot the ground here and miss everything next to it constantly for a few seconds.... Ya, if those had good targeting systems they'd be wiping the floor with those enemies and doing serious work, as it was... they also got the "not protag" treatment of incompetence... I expect some of it in most things these days, but... they really just relied on it constantly for every scene here. Ideally you want your own characters to truly be powerful, like have railguns, super speed/high performance bodies, be the super soldiers/etc... type... Or, to be skilled, properly using great tactics and strategies to deal with enemies, even if they are evenly matched. Such writing takes more skill and time... and sadly wasn't really used here. Shame. Still some good basic fighting scenes... but not the great piece if could have been.
