This show is excellent. I get that it takes a few liberties with the truth, but the 4th wall breaks are very well done and really show a lot about what made Jerry Buss tick. My favorite is the one where he says “Watch me paddle, motherf*****s!”
I was really skeptical when they switched from Michael Shannon to John C Riley to play Dr. Jerry Buss, but he absolutely crushed it. He was simply phenomenal in the role.
No one does it better than John C Riley . He is the guy you want to have as a best friend or party with. Likeable and loveable in all his roles. When John is on the screen you can’t help but smile every time .
They also did a GREAT job on getting the various teams' uniforms right. Too darn bad the series was cancelled. Despite the sort-of fictionalization of some elements, I got a sense of not just Lakers history, but NBA history.

Nike went with this for their marketing campaign during the Olympics: “You don’t win silver, you lose gold.” But unquestionably, Ricky Bobby (well his dad actually) said it best: “If you’re not first, you’re last.” 😁
