    Despite our wacky weather this spring in my part of the U.S. my peonies have thrived and are a mass of buds. They are one of my favorite flowers.

    Hi Kate ☺ Get yourself one of those kneeling chairs which you can use for kneeling or upside down for sitting. Bending your back like that not good! Had garden gloves to your wish list too, hidden bugs can bite! Leaving your garden a bit tatty over winter good for the hibernating bugs etc. My garden is my sanctuary. Enjoy. Blessings to you both and the Kits ☺ xx

    Dom could make a tall lattice door for the area you store bins, etc. Or, you can easily drape it with long flowing sheer floral fabric and swag each side. Beautiful in gardens. Important...you must hang a deterrent in front of that mirror! Trust me....birds will fly right into garden mirrors (and decorative garden windows) as they do not realize it is a reflection of landscape. Same with hanging/standing vintage windows. Remove the panes! Maybe place a planter box in front of mirror with tall flowers or a full plant..even artificial if easier to maintain. You can still expose some of the reflection. Add a pinwheel or something that moves. It will break your heart when you find injured or dead birds due to crashing into a garden mirror/window. Learned that lesson. Thankfully,
    only took one injured bird ...recovered and released. Now my garden mirrors and windows are bird-safe. 🐦🐦🌻
    Job well done on your garden area. I remember all the hard work you two did last year. You have created a lovely space. ❤🪴🌿🌱🌹🦋

    Your garden is looking so nice! Our gardening season in Ohio is behind and we really don’t plant anything before mid-May.
    I have a suggestion for your bin area. Have you considered putting up a rod from the front wall to the back wall above and to the front of the bins and hang some inexpensive curtains from ikea? You can pull them closed to hid the bins but still have easy access.

    Hi, I've just come across your vlogs today and subscribed, what a beautiful cottage you have! I'm so tired of all the big posh perfect houses, this was like a breath of fresh air, more realistic, I love it. And I love your cats!!

    Maybe put a bead curtain or bamboo blind to cover the door on the bin storage or even a big spray painted trellis/lattice on hinges. If it is an outdoor mirror Catherine in on Dainty Diaries has hers in the garden to reflect back the foliage. Have you seen her garden? Yours is pretty like hers. Have you thought of hiring a waterblaster for an hour or two to get moss and green off pavers etc. It would get the weeds out by the roots too. It would make cleaning so much easier. Thanks for such a lovely gardening video .

    Love your garden vlogs, gives me a nudge to get out in my garden. Such a great feeling when even 30 minutes work makes a difference. Great idea to move the bins. You could always look for a second hand bistro set in case it’s not what you want in the end 😊

    It's always an undertaking every spring, but the garden looks so beautiful when you're done - great job! I love that you moved the big chair out into the garden. I, too, am skittish around stinging insects (especially wasps and hornets), but I try to remind myself that the honeybees and bumblebees aren't there for me - they just want to get that pollen!

    Get a large, canvas tarp to hang across the opening of where you have the bins. Resistant to moisture and inexpensive, and will block the bins from view.

    For weeds between the garden pavers, try boiling water heavily salted. It works really well and won’t harm pets.

    • @thedivide3688
      @thedivide3688 Год назад

      You don't want to add salt to your soil. You won't be able to grow anything in the cervices later if you do and if it seeps elsewhere in your garden it will kill things too. The better solution is just spot treating with plain VINEGAR on a sunny day.

    • @jpinkpop792

    • @RedCoin91
      @RedCoin91 Год назад +4

      Dont use this method pls😢 adding salt to the soil is really Bad for it. It's Bad for the soil, it's Bad for the ecosystem and it tends ton accumulate in the soil, wich really isn't a good thing. Salt doesn't break down. Pls don't.

    • @jpinkpop792

    I'm really loving your gardening videos! We live in the country on nearly 8 acres, so there are a lot of trees/bushes/plants! Most of it is pretty low maintenance/wild/fields and pond (except so, so much grass to mow!). But we are working at beautifying around our house. Your adorable back yard is motivating! I'm growing lots of flowers this year, and we built a new vegetable garden! I'm so excited to watch what grows! I love your calm videos and sweet voice😊

    Hi Kay.....hope you are well. With your little paved area if you pour boiling water on your weeds the next day or day after that you'll just be able to kick them away & they dont come back so quickly.. plus it seems to get the roots too. Saves you bending & pulling as dont know about you but it kills my back!!! Gardens looking lovely 👍🏻. A gardener told to try NOT to mow lawns until end of may to give the bees chance to pollinate... Its so long tho but im holding off.... Plus im having my really old patio dug up & a new one laid at beginning may, so when thats all done i'll concentrate on it. Have a great week 👍🏻 x

      i was going to mention that to them too, also a couple of Aquiligia in the cracks and they are so pretty.
