Hi Kate ☺ Get yourself one of those kneeling chairs which you can use for kneeling or upside down for sitting. Bending your back like that not good! Had garden gloves to your wish list too, hidden bugs can bite! Leaving your garden a bit tatty over winter good for the hibernating bugs etc. My garden is my sanctuary. Enjoy. Blessings to you both and the Kits ☺ xx
Dom could make a tall lattice door for the area you store bins, etc. Or, you can easily drape it with long flowing sheer floral fabric and swag each side. Beautiful in gardens. Important...you must hang a deterrent in front of that mirror! Trust me....birds will fly right into garden mirrors (and decorative garden windows) as they do not realize it is a reflection of landscape. Same with hanging/standing vintage windows. Remove the panes! Maybe place a planter box in front of mirror with tall flowers or a full plant..even artificial if easier to maintain. You can still expose some of the reflection. Add a pinwheel or something that moves. It will break your heart when you find injured or dead birds due to crashing into a garden mirror/window. Learned that lesson. Thankfully, only took one injured bird ...recovered and released. Now my garden mirrors and windows are bird-safe. 🐦🐦🌻 Job well done on your garden area. I remember all the hard work you two did last year. You have created a lovely space. ❤🪴🌿🌱🌹🦋
My beautiful ragdoll boy, Loki passed away 2 months ago so for a while I couldn't watch your lovely channel. I'm feeling a bit better now so I'm back ❤
Hello lovely just a little tip if u cut everything back in end of Jan / Feb and leave the cutting on ur grass the birds use it for there nests xxx love your videos
Your garden is looking so nice! Our gardening season in Ohio is behind and we really don’t plant anything before mid-May. I have a suggestion for your bin area. Have you considered putting up a rod from the front wall to the back wall above and to the front of the bins and hang some inexpensive curtains from ikea? You can pull them closed to hid the bins but still have easy access.
Hi, I've just come across your vlogs today and subscribed, what a beautiful cottage you have! I'm so tired of all the big posh perfect houses, this was like a breath of fresh air, more realistic, I love it. And I love your cats!!
Maybe put a bead curtain or bamboo blind to cover the door on the bin storage or even a big spray painted trellis/lattice on hinges. If it is an outdoor mirror Catherine in on Dainty Diaries has hers in the garden to reflect back the foliage. Have you seen her garden? Yours is pretty like hers. Have you thought of hiring a waterblaster for an hour or two to get moss and green off pavers etc. It would get the weeds out by the roots too. It would make cleaning so much easier. Thanks for such a lovely gardening video .
Looks fabulous! We are going into winter but my garden is looking so beautiful as it’s not so hot . I love a garden that’s not perfection . It brings so much joy xx 😊
Love your garden vlogs, gives me a nudge to get out in my garden. Such a great feeling when even 30 minutes work makes a difference. Great idea to move the bins. You could always look for a second hand bistro set in case it’s not what you want in the end 😊
It's always an undertaking every spring, but the garden looks so beautiful when you're done - great job! I love that you moved the big chair out into the garden. I, too, am skittish around stinging insects (especially wasps and hornets), but I try to remind myself that the honeybees and bumblebees aren't there for me - they just want to get that pollen!
I love your garden videos. So soothing. You could get a little partition screen for your bin area - I think using that space for storage is really smart!
Wow fabulous job....and yes I need to get out and do my walled garden...it's not big maybe 22' and then a small corner piece.... just needs weeding....😮.. Thank you for sharing 😊
Get a large, canvas tarp to hang across the opening of where you have the bins. Resistant to moisture and inexpensive, and will block the bins from view.
You don't want to add salt to your soil. You won't be able to grow anything in the cervices later if you do and if it seeps elsewhere in your garden it will kill things too. The better solution is just spot treating with plain VINEGAR on a sunny day.
Dont use this method pls😢 adding salt to the soil is really Bad for it. It's Bad for the soil, it's Bad for the ecosystem and it tends ton accumulate in the soil, wich really isn't a good thing. Salt doesn't break down. Pls don't.
I'm really loving your gardening videos! We live in the country on nearly 8 acres, so there are a lot of trees/bushes/plants! Most of it is pretty low maintenance/wild/fields and pond (except so, so much grass to mow!). But we are working at beautifying around our house. Your adorable back yard is motivating! I'm growing lots of flowers this year, and we built a new vegetable garden! I'm so excited to watch what grows! I love your calm videos and sweet voice😊
Hi Kay.....hope you are well. With your little paved area if you pour boiling water on your weeds the next day or day after that you'll just be able to kick them away & they dont come back so quickly.. plus it seems to get the roots too. Saves you bending & pulling as dont know about you but it kills my back!!! Gardens looking lovely 👍🏻. A gardener told to try NOT to mow lawns until end of may to give the bees chance to pollinate... Its so long tho but im holding off.... Plus im having my really old patio dug up & a new one laid at beginning may, so when thats all done i'll concentrate on it. Have a great week 👍🏻 x
❤Thanks so much for sharing your garden 🪴 It looks so beautiful!!! Sending lots of love and hugs to you sweet Kay (How is Dad doing, praying all is well). 🥰🙏🏻❤️❌⭕️
That interesting my boyfriend loves edging and cutting the grass too lol we had to do it before the rains come. Abd now it raining and will for the next days. Thank you have a wonderful week.
Love this video especially on a wet morning like today, We had our garden tidied up 2 years ago but not added any life to it apart from grass, this has really inspired me to add more life to it, Thanks Kay xx
If you trim your climatic the wrong time you’ll cut off the flower buds. Look it up there are 3 different kinds as to when they flower. I believe if they flower in spring you trim after flowering.
i was going to mention that to them too, also a couple of Aquiligia in the cracks and they are so pretty. Supposedly we should leave the stems of the flowers from last year for the insects and wildlife and cut back in the spring just as you are doing.Gardening is a lifetime of learning, enjoy.
Hi Kay + Dom, well done with all your hard work, the garden looks so beautiful, it is a stunning, peaceful cottage garden. I am going to buy a mini wooden greenhouse like yours - Love all your video but especially the garden X ❤🥰
Hi if your garden was in my hands 😃 I would put my bins at the other end of the garden, to the side of the house if you have a side part of your home or disguise them near your back door, and in the out building I would have a small table with two chairs for evening wines 😅🎉 you could make that really nice with candles 🕯️ and have some solar light in there ✨✨ hope you don’t mind me saying x x ✨
Initially that’s what we wanted to do but we get sun at the end of the day at the top of the garden in summer so enjoy eating meals up there and the bins get smelly in summer 🤢 but thank you! It would look really lovely the other way around x
@@Livingthelifeyoulove Hi Again! It’s bugging me that you can’t enjoy your whole garden at the back, I keep my bins in the front garden to one side, Well to be honest we have four 4 bins the paper bin and the normal rubbish on one side and the PURPLE bin and green bin together on the other side, I just stick a few pots around them and it all looks fine, just a idea for for you xx
Beautiful garden....just a suggestion: if you want to save your back....start bending at your knees and squatting down. You are standing up and bending over causing stress on your lower back especially. Protect it Kay!!!!
Loved it , but why don’t you put the table and chairs by the house side then you can eat there aswell , And the chair ,maybe on the side of where the table is now? Or more in the middle of the garden?
You know Kay, leaving the tatty bits on your plants is good for the environment. It provides safe cosy places for bugs. Tidy gardens don't help the ecosystem one bit. So basically...well done you!!
All parts of poppies are poisonous to cats. I had a few in my garden that had self seeded and as lovely as they were I pulled them out as didn’t want to take any chances with my 2 cats x
You and Dom did a lot! Your garden is very pretty! We took a mini vacation a little south of us. They are about 2 weeks ahead of us in what is blooming. It was so nice. Thank you for sharing.
Despite our wacky weather this spring in my part of the U.S. my peonies have thrived and are a mass of buds. They are one of my favorite flowers.

could drape the chair with mosquito netting, would still hear them buzzing but less chance of a sting. Your garden looks lovely ❤
The garden looks so beautiful and inviting.
The new spot for the chair looks perfect 💜
I love your garden videos. So soothing. You could get a little partition screen for your bin area - I think using that space for storage is really smart!

Hi Kay 👋
I absolutely love your garden. It’s surprising what a difference a good tidy up and grass cut makes to to a garden. Thank you for sharing x
Get a large, canvas tarp to hang across the opening of where you have the bins. Resistant to moisture and inexpensive, and will block the bins from view.
For weeds between the garden pavers, try boiling water heavily salted. It works really well and won’t harm pets.
You don't want to add salt to your soil. You won't be able to grow anything in the cervices later if you do and if it seeps elsewhere in your garden it will kill things too. The better solution is just spot treating with plain VINEGAR on a sunny day.
Thanks, I'll try that method

@Redcoin91 OK I won't! We have slow weekend in our garden so wouldn't want to harm them
You can use boiling water on its own without the salt!
I'm really loving your gardening videos! We live in the country on nearly 8 acres, so there are a lot of trees/bushes/plants! I would hang a solid ecru curtain in your small building to hide your trash cans. Lots of work and good job!
Kay things in the garden are starting to look good. 👍👍❤

Absolutely beautiful ❤
Love your gardening vlogs Kay! It all looks lovely. Inspired me to go out now and start tidying even though its a bit chilly out there x
The chair looked lovely in it's new position! Love your gardening vlogs x
Lovely garden vlog I have been working in mine definitely my favorite place to be
Hi Kay, love your gardening vlogs. The big bluebell like flowers are called Camassia.👍
You can cut back in the fall or spring it doesn’t matter doing a great job
Garden's looking lovely. ❤ You could put something in front of area with bins to hide whole area. 🤔
❤Thanks so much for sharing your garden 🪴 It looks so beautiful!!! Sending lots of love and hugs to you sweet Kay (How is Dad doing, praying all is well). 🥰🙏🏻❤️❌⭕️

I love your garden videos!! I think how and where you moved things looks awesome!! ❤
what a cute garden looks so much better after your hard work ,you could try to hide you bins behind an extending trellis?
If you trim your climatic the wrong time you’ll cut off the flower buds. Look it up there are 3 different kinds as to when they flower. I believe if they flower in spring you trim after flowering.
Love your garden its so beautiful x
❤ I love gardening
Wow! The garden looks so nice.I just love the gardening videos.Wishing you both a great day.
What a beautiful garden! 💕
I enjoyed this xxxx
The blue flowers look like bluebells x
Lovely garden and so inspiring for me! Thank you!
Be careful when weeding the paving as at least one of those “weeds” was a foxglove seedling and you could have transplanted it into a border xx
i was going to mention that to them too, also a couple of Aquiligia in the cracks and they are so pretty. Supposedly we should leave the stems of the flowers from last year for the insects and wildlife and cut back in the spring just as you are doing.Gardening is a lifetime of learning, enjoy.

Hello Kay! Love, love the video is an inspiration I’m cleaning my backyard today 😂❤
Looking great! 🌸🌿🌱🌼
love your garden video its given me insperation to get out and do mine lol. uv done really well it looks lovely ❤
Lovely video, thank you ❤
Loving this, think the issue is weeds grow as soon as you look the other way 😅 Your garden is lovely

lovely make over but please move that brown bin 😊 Just love the rockers and the big chair ❤ Do you know the suppliers please ?
so nice
Love your videos
I know you raked up the leaves on the border but they if you leave them they feed the soil and acts as a mulch.
They are forget me nots and what look like bluebells!
Why don’t you buy one of those wicker dividers to hide the bins ?
You could have put your extra poppy seedlings out the front of your house for some one else to enjoy.
Beautiful garden....just a suggestion: if you want to save your back....start bending at your knees and squatting down. You are standing up and bending over causing stress on your lower back especially. Protect it Kay!!!!

Just feel bad for those poppies. I like to see them blooming. But you have enough of them. Good day
Why not put the wire shelves between your chair and the bins. If you put pots on, as you mentioned, you won’t see the bins when you’re sitting.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
You need a pressure washer😘
