The glove or mitten thing has always been a hassle. For a long time now I just keep my release hand in my coat pocket with those little hot pads. If I wear a glove it’s a thin one with some rubber grip dots on it for gripping my thumb button release or my trigger one. Both the thumb and index finger part is cut off. I got gloves like that and they are the best gloves I ever had with the fingers then the mitten part that folds over. When I went to shoot this year with them I learned a lesson it's not easy to get my hand in the rope thing when gripping the bow.
