I got into knife sharpening a couple of years ago using a WSKO/Grinder and quickly became a fan of the convex (for the most part) edge. Now that I’m retired and wishing I’d discovered this passion decades ago. I’m more than ready to up my experience and equipment. The plethora of videos and manufacturers is a daunting minefield of prejudiced pros and cons. However, I’m going to take a serious look at the KMG (TX) grinder(s). Thank you for the short, to the point and no BS chat.

Slavik Telly uses nothing but a 2x42 and puts out many beautiful knives. Its not always about the equipment a true artist can make beautiful knives with nothing more than saw, file and sandpaper. Ive put out a a dozen great knives on a cheap 1x30 and just ordered a 2x42 and Ill be fine with that for a long while. Not everyone does this to mass produce knives. I do it for the Artistic value and to sell a few a month.
    Great video either way... Thanks!

I was wondering what the best grinder would be for a guy like me that buys blades and scales online, and puts knives together. I don’t have a desire to forge any blades because I have too many other hobbies -Ha. Right now I’m making about 1 knife a month. I love it and it is really relaxing making a new knife. I sell some and keep some to just enjoy, but would like to complete a knife a little faster than 3-4 hours and be more efficient. I have the Harbor Freight 1x30 sander, a band saw and a small drill press

I am a blacksmith, but have thought about doing knives, since I love them. Couple of questions. 1) Would you recommend stock removal to start out? 2) Are there any tips you can give for starting out grinding bevels?
