Used to watch this stoned out of our minds back in the 80's with a friend whom had it on vcr. Such good memories. Oh..wait, still watching in 2021, less stoned though. Watching master Artists performing with pure integrity and dedication. It's a very rare thing.
No hair spray, no spandex, no make up, no glitter on the guitar... just the best guitarist in the world and still puts the others to shame...

But there remains one more tier above even them, the tier reserved for only one- the greatest of all time. There are all the other guitarists in the world, and then there’s David Gilmour…

Saw the Floyd a couple of times in Dallas in the '80's or '90's. Oh my God. Stood by the speakers and wept. Straight from God. Had I known Mr Gilmour was so gorgeous I don't know what might of happened.

I seen this concert in LA, California at the Universal Amptheater. It was one of the best shows ive ever seen. It's great to be able to see it again, so many memories. Thank you guys for bringing Floyd back to our thoughts and dreams. Keep up the good work. You guys are awesome, and David is a guitar god. Long live Gilmour.
It sucks they replaced the universal amp theater with the Harry Potter attraction.
I was also at the same show you Attended In Orange County California. I missed the rest of Floyd but it still was a fantastic concert!
I was lucky to see this show in Philadelphia at the Tower Theater, with about 299 others
Saw him on either June or July 9th in Jersey's Garden arts center at the time. Best show i ever saw. I could not heard for 3 days, loved it.
Thank you. I needed this. Depression and sadness has hit me bad. I lost my wonderful husband 2 months ago. Dave's my absolute favorite musician.

The guitar solo on Comfortably Numb just may be the greatest of all time. And, this live one is on that list, too. That's David!
I agree. This is the best -- and fortunately -- longest version of the outro of the song's end I've ever heard. I always felt the ending solo has been too short, even on the album and DVDs. This one soars on and on. :)

Saw David twice during the U.S. leg of this tour, at the Landmark Theatre, Syracuse, NY and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga, NY. It was so good to see David out from under the weight of the Pink Floyd behemoth, and just really enjoying himself and his amazing band. I read somewhere that David wasn't sure how audiences would respond to his solo tour. Based on the sell out crowds at both the concerts I attended, he had no reason to be concerned whatsoever!

(ya 2 yrs later) Like Lennon & McCartney it was Waters & Gilmour. Each has their own styles, which is rather different but together they meld VERY well. Roger was more in-depth lyrics, Dave great JAMS!
1983 PF got into a head-hole of what to do next. Following up on several masterful albums is one tall order.
As PF they've pretty much milked near dry what they could from the 4.5 (.5 was Snowy White) in 20 years.

David Glmour with hair! David has been my favorite guitarist since I began listening to his work in the 1970's starting with Wish You were Here. I've never heard this music; great to hear some Gilmour I've never heard before! Awesome!
You should see him doing echoes in Pompeii (1972). He and Rick are shirtless, full on wavy hair and extremely sexy!
"Murder" is not just my favorite Gilmour's solo song, it is one of my all time favorite songs.

Ahhhh the 80s AND David Gilmour! What great times the 80s were. I miss them deeply. I was an 80s kid I have such great memories from that decade as well as the 90s. Seems like after 9/11 nothing was ever the same. Crisis after crisis the lunatics create.

Had this on VHS. Drummer Chris Slade did work for ACDC also. He has literally had is cake and ate it too. As for David Gilmore, well just listen. He's the ear candyman.
Chris was also in Manfred Mann’s Earth band listed as assault and battery , one of the best drummer’s of that era

I played About Face a lot when I bought it in 1984,
I was at one of those Hammersmith shows. Must have been Saturday 28th. Great to see this and remember those good times. 30+ years later made it to one of the Pompeii gigs too with my son who was 8 at the time. What a first gig! No surprises to know he is learning guitar and who his favourite player is.

I was there, a great gig, one of my most remembered and loved even without the rest of Floyd, after all it was a Gilmour gig .Got to see Floyd in Perth in 88 though without Rodger.

Such fond memories of this tour - saw the 3rd to last date in the U.S. at the Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, Maryland - on a cool mid-July night - 3rd row right in front of David - it would have been simply amazing even without the magic mushrooms.
Too bad you couldn’t enjoy the show without...
@@cbennett196631 ~~ oh I could have - and did at many concerts - but my dead-head pal in D.C. gave them to me - and I actually remember far more about this show than many others where I was just drinking beer etc. - there are good reasons why these things are used therapeutically now to treat many things - including helping people to quit smoking & drinking - lose weight - all sorts of potential benefits.
