  • Performed by Pink Floyd.
Filmed and recorded live at the Nassau Coliseum, Long Island in August 1988 during the 'Momentary Lapse Of Reason' World Tour.
In December 2019 Pink Floyd released The Later Years box set. It features newly re-edited version of the 'Delicate Sound Of Thunder' video with newly remixed audio as one of the main features.
But unfortunately it wasn't expanded to the full set list concert. Several originally omitted tracks presented there on the bonus Blu-Ray/DVD disc. Also two instrumental compositions remained in shortened form. Unfortunately footage of another two tracks from set list weren't included at all for unknown reasons. I present the expanded edition of this beautiful concert video with all available footage in the right place. This edition expands official 2019 version by 17 minutes.
    1. Shine On You Crazy Diamond [00:00:00]
    2. Signs of Life [00:12:16]

    * Unfortunately 'The Dogs Of War' and 'Comfortably Numb' were excluded by RUclips policy.

This concert had a decisive importance in my life and in my love of music since I was a little kid.
I listened to it on CD, when the first CDs appeared, at the end of the 80s with my brother. Then there was nothing better than Pink Floyd, in the same way that no live show could surpass Pink Floyd's, like in Venice.
Even as a small child I could not deny the magic and power of this heavenly music. And today, 40 years later, the legend, magic and legacy of Pink Floyd has only grown.
I feel very sorry for the new generations. They think that what they hear is music. Their souls are dry as is the shameful music they listen to.
Pink Floyd has always been the music that has come closest to Olympus. They have made us better people, they have brought us closer to the immortal miracle of art, something that today's young people can hardly understand.
There has never been, there is nor will there be anything that surpasses Pink Floyd.
    What a heavenly beauty.

I saw them on this tour in '88. It was the best concert I ever went to. 15th row center at Carter-Finley stadium in Raleigh, NC with about 60,000 people behind me. There was an annular solar eclipse the day of the show. There was some serious energy going that whole day. Almost surreal. 9/11/88. Seeing this live show from that year again really brings back some great memories.

I was one of the fortunate ones to have seen this tour live at Foxboro Stadium in Foxborough Massachusetts! I was so blown away by the show on the first night (they did three consecutive nights in a row) but I wanted to see them again on night number two, but none of my friends had enough money to go the second night, so I said screw it I’m going by myself! And that’s exactly what I did, and glad I did!
One of the things I remember was just being blown away by the saxophone player Scott Page! If you would have told me (during the concert) that several years later (1997 to be exact) Scott Page would be sitting in my living room, I would’ve said you were out of your mind! But that’s exactly what happened, in addition we walked down to the infamous Italian restaurant the Market City Cafe in Burbank California and had lunch! It was an honorable hang, and one of which I’ll never forget! He is a super friendly, super chill guy to boot!
BTW, if you guys are Skynyrd fans, I wrote a original tribute song (Song title "Wish") to them which I got placed in the soon to be released Skynyrd movie titled "Street Survivors" The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash. My song is also the 2nd cut on the soundtrack that will be released worldwide on CD and vinyl soon! Give my song a listen, like and subscribe to my RUclips channel at: ruclips.net/video/litiWS7iSk0/видео.html
    Cheers, Lo

Eddie Gaedel ok....not like yesterday. Decades of hard living. But the shows themselves? Oh yeah, I definitely remember being blown away. Strangely, I remember a bar on Hempstead tpke - near Hofstra, where we all went after the shows. One of my buddies got into a fight. Nassau County cops showed up. I remember it being settled, no harm no foul. That expression didn't exist then.

I was 14 when I saw this tour @ the Metrodome in Minneapolis....My mom, bless her heart, let my friend and I pay a boy who was 16 and worked at the Burger King @ the mall in St. Cloud $10 to drive us to the show and pick us up (Minneapolis was like an hour away). We went down by a lake and smoked a bunch of weed and then he dropped us off...I swear to the Goddess that the song "Dogs of War" felt like it was like 3-hours long. I also will never understand how we found our ride in the chaos after the show considering we had no cell phones. I strongly feel that Pink Floyd and Roger Waters put on the best live shows of any artists on the planet.

Yes, the "Pulse" concert has the complete DSoM song list but THIS PERFORMANCE is the finest that Pink Floyd ever, EVER did. Guy Pratt on bass and Scott Page on sax are phenomenal. Left to right, the backing vocalists Margret Taylor, Durga McBroom and Rachel Fury are the absolute best the band has ever used...note especially Fury's emotional rendition of The Great Gig in the Sky...pure perfection. Her interaction with Gilmour throughout the night is PRICELESS!
I started on drums and guitar at age 11 in 1959....started gigging at age 15...still a dedicated blues/rock bassist and vocalist gigging at age 72 and have played a lot of these songs on bass live over the years. I notice all the little subtleties, hand and head signals, and unspoken communication between the band members. Performance execution at this level is what we refer to as "Effortless Mastery". They are soooo good that they make it look way simpler than it really is. All musicians strive to achieve this level of excellence...very few attain it. This is music that speaks directly to your soul...if you let it.

you are coming into offensive mode here.
you are allowed to your own opinion but if you try to restrict others from expressing themselves then you will get this answer.
I think you are NOT a fan of good music.
if you can't be bothered to differentiate between good and best, you are painting with a very large brush to be bothered with the details.
You are not a details appreciating person. so my words may hurt you, but why would you bother with Pink Floyd? a totally details oriented creative musical gift from the universe itself? Hmmm?
Are you willing to broaden your scope of understanding?
learn to appreciate the whole, the quantum details, the apparent and the hidden, the start and end and the middle in between? all the shades of colors and grays? all the sounds your ears can hear? Be one the universe?

This was my very first rock concert. Saw them in Chicago on the Fall 1987 leg of the tour. (1987! Where have the years gone?!) I had just started listening to Pink Floyd a few years earlier, and then they go on a major tour for the first time in a decade. Keep in mind that this was before RUclips and the internet, and the members were private and pretty much anonymous , even during their epic 1970s heyday. You had the music and imagery from their classic albums, but other media material like interviews, reports, etc. was very limited, and typically with no band photos. So I had no idea what to expect going into this show ... and I was totally blown away. The songs. The light show. The films on the circular screen. One of those big impact events in life I’ll tell ya ...
Side Note: Pink Floyd played Welcome To The Machine on this tour. For some reason, it’s never included in official concert releases

Outside of BC Place Stadium (Vancouver, BC 1988) as a 'starving' student and not enough cash to afford a scalped ticket...vowed to see their next tour and thankfully, The Division Bell Tour came to be and was able to see them 6 years later. It was worth the wait but the feel of this concert would have been a different and unique experience...'darker' perhaps. Among 100's, Pink Floyd was easily the best live concert event I have ever seen. Perfection in all regards. Perfect sound, cutting edge lighting & effects, elaborate production and consummate musicians.
