David Gilmour and Pink Floyd has been my whole life from the age of 10 i have just turned 50 seen him and them 4 times and would give anything to be able to go back and see them again very special band which at times have literally saved my life in my opinion there will never be another band who will come close to what they have done

You can tell a lot about a man by the people he surrounds himself with, and when you have Rick Wright, Bowie, Crosby, Nash, Manzanera, Robert Wyatt and so many other great musicians around you, that means you're a very special person. Thx David for every moment of delight you've given all of us.

at 29:47, walking through the gauntlet of fans out to a waiting limo, Mike Rutherford of Genesis. I had to back it up a few secs, not sure if I saw it right lol....but yeah, that's his beautiful wife Angie with him. Amongst the many others, I read somewhere that Gilmore + Rutherford where good friends. This was cool to see just this glimpse.

Last year I was keen on traveling somewhere but I couldn't decide where to. After watching this documentary I decided to spend four days in Venice as I had already been there but it was long ago and I could hardly remember anything. Three first days were great and my only complaint was the amount of tourists...it was SO crowded everywhere, and the last day I decided just to walk through the canals and streets with no specific direction and at a turning point I listen to crystal glass music. I approach the guy who plays them and it was Igor, the guy that appears in the documentary and performed with David on stage at San Marco. Had a little chat and he explained to me that David and the rest of the guys were EXCELLENT people, had dinner with them and music was always present in some way at all times. He told he really apreciated that someone that young like me remembered him about those days as 2006 is a bit far. I decided to go to Venice thanks to the documentary and once there I meet the crystal glass player who appears on the documentary. Life can truly be beautiful sometimes.

Very well said! I hear it new each time it plays...echoes, what a masterpiece. I'm 35 years old, and their music makes me feel as if I've lived twice as much time. Bless all of them, new and old, from Roger to Dave, from Syd and Rick passing, the entire journey must have been quite a life. Bless all of you, love you all. Here we are, here and now.

Echoes is my favourite song on Meddle, which is my favourite album, followed by Fearless and then On the Run. In the latter, I love it when Mason’s big fat flat drum kicks in, because it does sound like some fascist bastard kicking in someone’s door. Genius- all of them.

This DVD was very moving and enjoyable and great to see Bowie, with Nasha and Crosby make nice guest appearances and nice for Dave and Roger to say hi and break the ice for a short while. The songs are classic and as heartwarming as ever!

i wanna be David Gilmour in my next life - admired musically by fans, critics and fellow musicians alike (with all those spoils), an overall very classy guy, and married to a drop dead gorgeous wife who is super smart, seems to have a great personjality, has a great career and writes lyrics. I am so lucky to have seen this magical work of art live 5 times, including one with Roger, one of Roger Water's shows, not to mention the lagacy continuing with Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets tour this year of 2019....I feel blessed. One can look at the entirety of Pink Floyd's discography, and carry on to David's work, and one will find how interests shift as one gets older. It starts with fairytales and dreams, but then you want to make it big, earn all that money. And when you do, you find it's not really what you've wanted and you shut yourself out from the world. As you age, you realise you're not the center of the world, and it all takes a political, almost activist turn. But maybe communication is key. Finally, you realise that what's most important in life is what you had with you all along: a family, a loving wife, children, somewhere to warm your bones by the fire, as a younger version of you might put it.
It's all an arc, i feel. It is amazing in its extent. It is beautiful to listen to. It is like nothing you'll ever hear. Thank you, David, for putting such a beautiful coda to it.

I love Rick, but he would tell you himself that he was not a great Keyboardist, anymore than Roger is a great bass player. Never has the cover for "Wish You Were Here" been more poignant than at 2 mins 18 secs - The 2 guys on the cover greeting one another veiled in fire.

Yes he is. He seems like a genuinely nice person, who is not at all corrupted by the success he's had.
Proof that it was all about the music all along.

After listening to this album many times.Clearly very professional and as referred to polished. However, complex in nature. My mind, they were expressing their feelings and journey of their success. It sounded like shake off of their life demanded of them and found the equilibrium in challenging everything they knew and learnt in their path of reaching it but satisfied with it was a different matter altogether. I also believed the wall experienced through isolation was actually the unifying element with the outside as many people dare not speak of or choose to Speak in fear of being alienated. A brave effort. Took a huge risk in not compromising their discomfort with having reached a pinnacle and choosing something new they were in search of the passion to succeed and keep the standard or even supersede their previous masterpiece and create another. The previous was talking about the persona dealing with world at that time. The wall signifying the pressures of that time period politically. All done with perfection and high standard production and recording, talent and skill. The struggle of fitting in and yet maintain indiduality in a positive light. That’s why it was so successful. They dared
To open Pandora’s box on themselves and their relationship with the world. Thank you Pink Floyd. David Bowie Wow! Never knew

Absolutely and I'd have loved to have played bass guitar on this tour. The positive atmosphere is something I always love in a band as it brings out the best performances on stage

The body language between Dave, Roger and Polly in the yard is priceless. you can just feel the tension, but they try to remain civil for the Camera!
