Long before TCM, Elwy Yost gave us great films and his interviews were legendary. Not just Big Stars, but also writers, directors, camera men and great woman. A close friend of mine used to ride the Toronto subway with Elwy and got to know him very well. She said he was one of the nicest people she had ever known. I think that says it all.
I loved Elwy, TVO hasn't been the same. Of course my thoughts and prayers are with his family. You Tube can allow us to hear his voice as he says "sit back, put your feet up and turn the lights down low and enjoy this film.'' Well I hope he's got his feet up and enjoying a film where he is now because he's sure earned it.
It was a horrible show as soon as Elwy retired from the show, suddenly it was not a program about fun but about what can we the snob hosts hope to teach you about artsy crap that no one wants to watch.

SNAM absolutely sucks now. Bring back the CLASSICs and not this artsy-fartsy indie style trash.
