  • Based in Dorset in the UK, Monkey World is the largest monkey and ape rescue centre on the planet. For nearly three decades, the team has saved countless primates - across 20 countries - from lives of cruelty, abuse, and neglect.
    This safe haven is now home to more than 200 monkeys and apes. The dedicated staff never stop in their quest to save animals from being mistreated by owners, ending up in laboratories or being exploited in the entertainment industry.

      @Kris Wagoner There were no monkeys hugging Jeremy. BTW Monkeys have tails. We, the Great Apes have NO Tails.

      In other words, those are Great Apes, not monkeys. Monkeys have tails, great apes do not.

    The moment when Sally hugs Jeremy after coming out of the anesthesia is just one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen with an animal connecting with a human! Jeremy has the greatest job in the world! And I'm a huge animal lover I love watching primates videos but I don't much care for chimpanzees or baboons but that was a touching moment baboons and chimpanzees can be violent towards one another

    • @rosieazatyan5923
      @rosieazatyan5923 10 месяцев назад

      Yes the get violent but its for livelihood you know range, food, hierarchy, protection etc whereas us humans get violent and kill one another over $5 IOU or missing cheese on cheeseburger.

    I imagine those babies of Cherrie will be the pride of that whole gang of chimps. They seem to love them. Maybe all of their attention to Cherrie and her babies will encourage her to keep up the good work.

    I loved that too Eunice. Flanking her front and rear, really taking care of her and the girls. Tell me they aren't extremely intelligent! Cherry is doing phenomenal so far. I really wish her the best and hope she gets to fully enjoy being a mother this time around. Thank you all at Monkey World. So much respect 🥰

    If you watch Lion Whisperer you can appreciate how helpful it can be when at least one keeper has a personal relationship with the animals, in a sanctuary.

    With Cherri being pampered and spoiled by those 2 male chimps, I think she might actually take care of those babies. So glad Gordon woke up. Its amazing to see how big he has grown. Man he has some massive teeth. A handsome orangutan for sure.

    Looks like Cheri is going to be a great mom with the twins this time. I believe she was just to young on her other babies and didn’t have what it took at the time to care for them… but she’s doing a great job with the girls. A mother’s love ❤️ never ending ❤❤❤

    I often wonder if the primates really realize how much they are taken care of by the staff or if they just see them as surroundings?

    • @ShaiShai1
      @ShaiShai1 Год назад +1

      I definitely think they recognize they care they are given. That’s why they love some keepers more than others because they provide them more care. They trust them because of they care they are given

    • @LindaC616

      @ShaiShai1 agreed. I follow a sanctuary where it is very obvious that some chimps have a closer relationship to particular caregivers over the other 7 caregivers and 20 volunteers who all work there. There is one male in one troop who really enjoys running one of the staff members ragged. Everytime he sees that Man at Work, his face just lights up, and it's time to play!

    Those orangutans are a little overweight..I wonder if they will start cutting back the amount of starchy foods? Maybe more greens.

  • @mroase4273
    @mroase4273 Год назад

    Curious Question? Why did you choose to put the Orang’s under sedation, rather then training to get into a crate? ❤

    • @laurenelizabeth8585
      @laurenelizabeth8585 Год назад +1

      My first guess would be so that the doctor can do a quick health check on them before waking them up. However, Just because orangutans 🦧 are pacifists doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t put up with something they don’t fully understand. Such as being forced to leave their own territory. They can accrue just as much if not more issues than the chimps do. Just my guess.

    I wonder what's gonna happen next with orangutan tuan the the chimp leaders because since orangutan and chimps live on two different continents so I'm interesting to see who backs down from who the orangutan tuan who lived around there for quite while are the new arrival chimp group leader because i always wanted to see the reaction of the orangutan and a chimp meeting face to face you only see that in movies like planet of the apes with maurice being the only orangutan being in the primate sanctuary in the movie i always wonder if you can keep chimps and orangutan and gorilla side by side each other.

    I am concerned about some videos that are being put out by people visiting the monkey Park saying that there's nothing to see people are wanting to spend thousands of dollars to fly over to the Unk just to visit the monkey Park I don't know if what they're saying is true or not I will never be able to afford that trip but it's just not good PR for you all I realize you have more to do than to run an amusement park so to speak but was just concerned about my favorite videos

    • @ritamccomas9271
      @ritamccomas9271 Год назад +2

      That's a question you should ask on Monkey World's page. I've seen a couple of videos like that. I guess these people expect the park's areas for monkeys and apes to be all mowed, raked and have flowers planted instead of those areas be more like what they would naturally live in, grown up grass, etc, I personally would rather see these primates in areas of more natural than to see them with concrete floors or well maintained "lawns." There are some people that can't be pleased no matter how the areas would be.
