Barging someone in the back isn't a foul? This is a new one on me!
he pushed him so he had no chance of getting the ball, so youve never seen a goalie get pushed and a fee kick given?
Talking great Villa managers I find it odd that Graham Taylor never gets a mention. Finishing 2nd with a very average set of players in the early 90s was an example of the potential impact a manager can have on a team’s performance.
It's as blatant of a foul as you'll see. No attempt to play the ball, arm into Diego Carlos's back with force to remove him from where the ball is landing, so that he can cross the ball for the goal.
The real question shouldn't be why it was ruled out, it should be how on Earth did the on-field referee miss the foul in the first place! It was clear as day. If that happens in the middle of the pitch, it's given as a free-kick 10 times out of 10. It's a blatant foul.
Most blatant foul you’ll ever see I often wonder how Greg sees the game.
If u look where the ball bounced it’s exactly where Carlos is stood… the push prevents him from playing the ball… foul. Simple as that really UTV
I clearly don't understand football anymore because in my book that push on Carlos is as clear cut, no question, 100% all day long, (Edit - foul) you'll see and I was shocked the ref didn't see it. I must be out of touch.
I also noticed the Duran Poch hug... Is he off to sit on Chelsea's bench with Chucky?
I'd agree it was a clear foul hence why it was given via var. The main issue is the ref not giving it in real time.
Also, last week's decisions in another game aren't really relevant...the officials for the villa game can't control the decisions for a game the week before
penalty?
@@TheCurtisdavies Why did I write that? I meant NO penalty! Must have been tired!
@@leejohnson3209 A penalty was never on the cards? it was either a foul for villa or no foul, a penalty would need to be at the other end of the pitch?
@@gazzam3172 jeez you're right. What is wrong with my brain. It was either a legit goal or a foul. Can I delete this post I've made a right tit of myself. I think I need therapy.
I don’t get this debate, Carlos was in front of the challenging player and was ball side. He was prevented from being able to play the ball by the push. If that’s anywhere else on the pitch is a foul. He doesn’t get the ball (and the consequential goal) without that push. Everything else is subjective.
Cannot agree with your views on the “push”. It’s a clear push in the back when Carlos is stood still. Without the push that isn’t a clear header. Nothing difficult about it
Forearm in the back, no intention to play the ball, anywhere else on the pitch and it's given 100 times out of 100. Amazed the decision was even controversial.
@@markwebb7576 exactly and that’s without any Villa bias. That’s never not a foul
Rogers has been a real eye-opener for me. £8mil for a player with that quality is amazing in this day and age. If we are hamstrung by FFP this summer that may be the way we have to go, and based on Rogers it may not be the disaster that FFP could otherwise wreak
Really good point. Emery doesn't need super stars to get a hell of a lot out of them
Disagree about the foul , I called foul in normal play as soon as happen . Defender pushes a striker like that and he goes down like his been shot and it’s a pen.
Really like Gregg on these podcasts, him not being a villain fan gives a good non bias level headed opinion and insight!
Wasn't keen at first but completely agree now
On the foul v Chelsea in the current rules a shoulder in the back is a foul,a shoulder to shoulder isn't a foul, fact.!
70 points gets champions league. Better goal difference too. They would need 11 points from 5 games, with Chelsea and 2 of the top 3 to play. Can't see that happening. UTV!
Great show. Good insight about summer. I think Duran will go. Maybe Cash too and Digne and diarby
Diaby needs time, we need to learn from Leon
Disagree about Diaby. The man has 11 goals and 7 assists in all comps. Saying it hasnt worked out for him just becaise of inconsistency is absolute madness with them stats. In his first season. At age 24. What is going on here 😅
he goes missing way too much for me, he has his moments i just wish he had more of them.
remember he cost 50 million
Top 5 finish guaranteed and with Spurs losing today a top 4 finish likely is an incredible achievement. I expect at least a couple of flagship signings in the summer to bolster our Champions league push which will require a few sales as well unfortunately. Exciting times…
6 points in 3 matches ll secure it
Not sure we have the budget for a flag ship signing...more like Rodgers I think
i'd get rid of Diaby,he doesnt do it for me. but id try to keep Duran ,but if he wants to go then fine, id keep zaniolo as long as he dont cost a fortune
One of the most blatant fouls you’ll see ! Clear shove in the back 🤦🏻♂️
If you have to shove the defending player out of the way to win the ball it's a foul simple.
I agree about support for Robin Olsen, he's an okay back up, but any keeper compared to Emi is a downgrade. Also agree that the two goals conceded against Chelsea were not Robin's fault by normal goalkeeper standards but Emi is by no means 'normal' and I reckon Emi would have probably saved one of them, possibly both! Thanks Dan for the work you do, much appreciated. UTV!
Disagree. Poor distribution and unable to play from out the back meaning our whole system breaks down
Shoulder-to-shoulder ✅
Shoulder to Back ❌
Listening to this made me realise why I don't read for watch Uk media 🤷😂
Shame if Duran goes...every time hes on the pitch he causes havoc. nearly scored at lille and then at chelsea.
With diaby so out of form I'd like to see him up top with watkins against olympiacos
Really like this kid
He's a 'nearly' man
Could see the foul clearly from the holte, as blatant as it gets
😊
As a fanbase we're way too easy on poor players sometimes, which is nice and everything but Olsen is 🗑️. He can't play out from the back so the whole system breaks down. It's completely unacceptable. So he makes a few good saves sometimes. That's the minimum we can expect from him. Getting a backup keeper to Emi who can fill in now, not be a prospect for later, is imperative in the summer. I'm sick of feeling completely vulnerable at the back with absolutely no faith when Emi's unavailable
It's not done yet anothe5 points and we should be there expect spursto win 4 of their games and copying bielsas team at Leeds and we know wat happend there great show boys utv
Spurs lose against Chelsea and Liverpool and Villa beat Brighton....it's Champions League Baby...This time next week we could be on the beach ready to concentrate on winning the Conference League ...UTV
Unless Diaby shows a pair of bollox and fight he can go for me, good player when he wants to be but not enough and if he wants to go let him, better players out there and less money who will graft and work, we can’t keep on waiting on players to perform now, blah blah Bailey what about Callaghan curcic collymore and many others I could name who couldn’t step up.
I read the comments before I listened and am I seriously about to hear the claim that Diego Carlos wasn't fouled?
He was pushed out of the way with the player making no intention to play the ball. That is, by definition, a foul. End of story.
