City played silva and de bruyne in a midfield 3 with Fernandinho. That team also had sane, sterling and aguero in the team. If you want to play your best players together you can do it you have the confidence

What a silly excuse. Pep won’t be at city forever so a new coach would come and change the way they play. Also a top player needs to adapt to a different environment. Saka, Vini, Jude etc are performing for their countries. Foden is a top guardiola player. He isn’t world class.
You clearly don't follow Brazil cause Vini is getting criticism for not performing for Brazil at the same level as Real Madrid, Rodrygo plays better for Brazil than him
Vini has the same issue with Brazil and he is playing in his preferred position but can't do it like foden! Foden has played vs Iceland as #10 and ghosted the whole game
In most other countries, the team would be built around Foden. Belligham's physicality will help you beat Serbia and Denmark, but not France and Germany.
I think the inability to maximize veryone's potential is basically tactical and man management. theoretically, if you make the perfect touch, use the correct techniques, and make the right decisions, everyone can shine in the team. They just need to be team players rather than individuals. in other words, in every game, jude, foden, etc. just need to perfectly string the perfect passes and movements at the right tempo, and shoot hard and accurate enough, and everyone's happy.
He had one the best midfielders behind him. The game against Serbia he was naturally coming back into the 8 role and by doing so tired himself out and faded throughout the second half.
Finally some words of wisdom. Barnes knows better than most as England never saw the best of him. If you play Jude deeper then Foden may be effective. Should England beat or draw with Denmark then for the last game play Gordon; Foden and Saka behind Kane or even Watkins. What may help Foden is a player like Watkins making runs in the channels freeing space up. But come on Southgate aint Pep.
Hold on, isn't this the same Phil Foden that was brilliant largely playing on the left wing for several seasons before moving more centrally the season just gone? The same Phil Foden that never turned up for England prior to Bellingham breaking into the squad? I don't think it's where he's playing/playing with Jude and more-so about the England shirt weighing heavy or Southgate not getting the best out of him
Foden needs to deliver when he gets time, you can't keep blaming on Southgate or positions, when he gets the ball he needs to make things happen its simple as that, no more excuses by everyone! Foden whereever he plays he has to do the job and do it well! The player needs to stand up to challenges!
I dont think Gareth Southgate is technically astute enough to solve the problem of playing our best players in a system/formation,unlike Carlo Ancellotti
Just play Jude deeper.. which is where he’s going to end up next year at RM. He played as a 10/false 9 because they didn’t have a star striker. Mbappe and Vini jr will be doing that, with Rodrygo too. Jude is gonna be an 8 who comes from deep to score goals, just like Lampard.
Without Shaw on the pitch, you can easily argue 'Go three at the back, play two up front, have two proper wingers/WAMs, Two B2Bs and one holding the fort.' That's the only way I can see fitting both Foden and Bellingham into the same side. Pickford; Walker, Stones, Guehi; Saka, Bellingham, Rice, Foden, Eze; Kane, Watkins.
@@geekylove3603 When you can play with your left and right foot as well as he can you can play anywhere. This kid is a sensational talent and the fact he is not on the pitch is criminal
Foden has NEVER brought it for England either on the left or in the middle. The team needs penetration down the left so put a proper winger there. Also Rice needs a strong DM next to him so that he can go forward so no Trent for me.
Individuals instead of a team, that's the problem. Not to mention so many of our players like the ball to feet. Kane, Saka, Foden Bellingham, Palmer all like the ball at their feet in or around that 10 position. We have nobody running in behind.
Foden has to be played centrally as that #10 playmaker. He’s superb when he receives the ball on the half turn and sprays passes around. Bellingham will still have the same impact on the game deeper alongside Rice. It’s a no brainier!
I agree with Barnes. Foden has been played in all foward positions by Pep and has excelled in all of them. We saw him play as a 10 against Iceland and he still struggled regardless. Based on the system Southgate plays Foden will not thrive henceforth he has to bench
A lot of stupid people are trying to restrict the face of the project, the best player in the world for Phil Foden. Lol. Who gets pushed out? Someone who’s premier league player of the year? Or someone in conversations as the best player in the world with Vini and Mbappé, and plays for Real Madrid, the best team in the world with the most pressure, and highest standards? Madridistas hate non-perfect players and they all adore Jude. It’s obvious who needs to sacrifice. Look at Germany, they have two 10s and they adapted. Foden needs to adapt to Bellingham because he’s the face of the team and their best player. Also more importantly, it could be possible that Foden just had an off night. Lol.
Foden is overrated and is getting exposed outside of Man City. Great players are great wherever they play, even out of position. Good players (not exceptional) like Foden can't adjust. English hype as usual. Bellingham has mega hype that upsets people but he backs it up, even when he has bad games, people with ball knowledge see the little things he does to help the team out.
Bellingham is massively overrated too. He done fuxk all for Real Madrid in the latter stages of the season. He scores goal or assists to cover up stinkers 😂
@@olekmasidnoz9182Jude doesn't just score goals you know, where was Vini at the beginning of the season when Jude was winning el clasicos and Girona matches at the beginning of the season? He was La Liga player of the season for a reason, overrated is not the word... 😏😂

We call that best player in the world syndrome. Because he is. Kane will adapt, Bellingham doesn’t overlap much with him. But Foden needs to change it up. He’s gonna need to rediscover himself or else be swallowed by the media like now. And he can’t push Bellingham out of that position.
@MungaRaphael-lz3wx you are so right, jude is a black boy, he needs to make way for foden. If we keep rewarding places based on merit we will end up looking like the French squad!😡
Jude wasn't playing against Iceland.... England can't bring the ball out of the back. Bellingham has to play alongside Rice and Foden plays behind Kane or on the right and Kane plays behing the striker.
Both players like to take up the same space, which does not work. Play Bellingham as 10 and leave Foden on the bench. Play a wide man left and bring back Shaw as soon as he is fit.
So you move Saka out of the right? Oh he likes to roam like Jude? So the best player in the world has to adapt to someone who’s worse than him? Bellingham is the face of the England team. Foden needs to adapt.

Foden has started for city off the left and played well. Bellingham does not stop foden from playing well. Foden just needs to get out of his own head. I believe Kane is not the right fit for the english striker. Hes the best striker but not the best FIT. Watkins is a better fit imo.
Call me old fashioned but what’s wrong with having two proper strikers up front like the old days so they can work together I would have toney and Watkins with foden behind Gordon on the left palmer on the right with rice and Bellingham in the middle and use Kane as a impact sub as my nan is quicker than him use the wide players to whip first time crosses in or even a cross would nice instead on this short tippy tappy passing on the floor which gets us nowhere then ends up all the way pack to the keeper.our players have no confidence to turn and beat a player and create quick passing football they stand on the ball and pass back.i have watched most of the games and most of the other nations play quick tempo football with the ball hit from one side to the other or down the wings crossing in to the boxes creating chances also hitting shots from outside of the box. we do not do that we want to walk the ball in to the net this style of football has been drummed into them for the last 8 years I think they don’t know how to play any different it’s like they have been brainwashed by Southgate I reckon Pickford has more touches than the rest of the keepers. if Kane is up front on his own then he needs balls whipped across the box not balls passed around the side of the area looking in for a way in to the box only for the ball to be sent all the way back to the keeper
We have to supply Harry Kane that's ALL that matters. Playing Bellingham too deep would be moronic too. Having Harry with 3 touches all game is a bad sign. We need pace and width and supply. Or we go home
Don't aree with this, but they need to be balanced off, Grealish was the man to do it, okay we'd be a bit narrow, but he'd play in the pockets behind Foden and Bellingham is all action he would run the show from no 8. Once Shaw is fit he'd offer width.
Bellingham isnt even a number 10. He's a natural 8. Play Jude in his actual position and play foden in his actual position. There's only one man to blame and its Southgate. Has the easiest job in the world If I was foden I'd just walk out of the camp and go on holiday until Southgate is sacked
We desperately need an old fashioned winger who can take on the full back and cross the ball like a prime John Barnes or Lee Sharpe...we just don't have these any more.
Rice holding, intercepting, simple passing, Bellingham has the fire and talent to be box to box, create and score then Foden 10 and coming in LW should be Gordon.
Bellingham should be in the midfield to next Rice. Bellingham isnt a playmaker like that, he's a crash the box midfielder who can get up and down the pitch and score goals. Just because Bellingham plays CAM for Real Madrid doesn't mean he should play there for England. Madrid have the players to hide Judes deficiencies despite what the media says. Foden needs players on the same wavelength.
It's simple Gareth. Players in their strongest position. Bellingham with Rice in middle. Foden in #10 and Gordon/Eze on the left. At least try it for 30 mins!
Even if u bring iniesta on that left wing role nothing will change with d way enlgand play football...man city would destroy this english squad all day long....southgate zero football knowledge
This is all on Southgate, having to direct wingers from either side is not the way to go if you wanna control games going forward an defend.. play Foden in a 4 3 3 an you'll find the balance!
I think he'll grow with the tournament and he'll deliver at a critical point,he's good talent,he's got goals in his boots, he's just lacking Jude's condidence,he needs the gaffers support. English are very impatient, maybe it is due to them not winning anything in decades
The problem isn’t Foden, it’s Southgate. Player of the season, yet Southgate bends over backwards to accommodate TAA, who did nothing. Bellingham just marauds around the pitch as if he’s the only one that matters, it’s supposed to be a team game, not the Jude Bellingham show! There’s no fluidity, no communication, countless times Foden was asking for the ball, making himself available, but just ignored
Phil is just unlucky he’s in a generation with Bellingham, alot like when they forced Scholes out onto the left and we didn’t see the best of him either. However scholes did adapt somewhat and still had success for england, Foden will have to so the same, if hes world class he will adapt. If he’s not then he’ll have to sit it out.
Foden is a system player Jude is a free player, Pep turns players into system players, his players. For Foden to shine he must play freely & get the Pep system out of his mind!
Just because Gordon Ramsay can cook a good Steak & Chips doesn't mean I'd play him on the left wing. It's about what you're good at. You play the best players in the position they play best. Surely that's obvious .... isn't it? Why isn't that obvious? Paul Scholes suffered the same fate with England.
Why the hell should Jude take a back seat to accommodate Foden? For 4yrs Foden had many chances and blee them all. He was playing the central against Iceland whilst Jude was resting after the CL and he did nothing. What does that say?!?

I was with you UNTIL the last part. I like Antony Gordon but come on, you lose credibility when you say he's better than Foden😂😂
😂😂😂Bellingham is not better than Foden stop it
@@delete9090 Has more pace and he's a better winger than foden. That was the problem in the second half there was no out ball.
@@smallmanjimu7557 jude is a million light years better than foden, there is no comparison.
If England play 4:3:3 we can play with two number 10s Bellingham and Foden, with Rice as the deepest midfielder .Back of four Walker, Stones, Guehi, Trippier or shaw. Front three of Saka, Kane, Gordon or Eze. Become a 4:5:1 out of posession. Then Bob’s your uncle
I should be England manager
Bellingham position in Madrid is Harry Kane role , if Kane is dropping to the middle, then crushing the box .
City played silva and de bruyne in a midfield 3 with Fernandinho. That team also had sane, sterling and aguero in the team. If you want to play your best players together you can do it you have the confidence
Exactly, he had more or less a free role at City. In the England team he is asked to stay and act as a wide player making crosses but he is always looking to make inside runs or cut in on the inside!
he is managed by pep its like getting out of a ferrari and getting into a ford fiesta do not compare city to england would bellingham get in citys team no f chance instead of who rodri or kdb
So Southgate need to be more ruthless and leave Foden in the bench. End of story and Period.
And then all of English fans and media need to stop keep pushing the Foden agenda or even sensationalizing the agenda into furious debates that will never stop and perhaps will even cost England a good tournament.

Hard to believe Bellingham is only 20.....future England captain this one.
What a silly excuse. Pep won’t be at city forever so a new coach would come and change the way they play. Also a top player needs to adapt to a different environment. Saka, Vini, Jude etc are performing for their countries. Foden is a top guardiola player. He isn’t world class.
You clearly don't follow Brazil cause Vini is getting criticism for not performing for Brazil at the same level as Real Madrid, Rodrygo plays better for Brazil than him
What a lie! Show me the games that Vini hasn’t performed? 😂
He may not have the same goal production for Brazil like in Madrid, but he is assisting alot and a part of almost every dangerous attack Brazil makes.
Vini has the same issue with Brazil and he is playing in his preferred position but can't do it like foden! Foden has played vs Iceland as #10 and ghosted the whole game

It's bizarre how Barnes is not on TV and radio anymore, he is the only one that makes sense.
One qualification to be a Tv & Radio host is to be Idiotic. To have abysmal opinions that bring attraction to discussion and reactions.
In most other countries, the team would be built around Foden.
Belligham's physicality will help you beat Serbia and Denmark, but not France and Germany.
Foden has had 35 caps and scored 4 goals it’s time to try something different, give Bellingham a chance
Arsenal with rice and saka weren't up to the task when Arsenal were knock out of Europe last season.
I mean Bellingham was playing out of position at real madrid this whole season n guy delivered thats what u call a wc player
He had one the best midfielders behind him. The game against Serbia he was naturally coming back into the 8 role and by doing so tired himself out and faded throughout the second half.
You are spot on. Bellingham is world class.

Bellingham isn't world class he failed to prove that in the UCL
Finally some words of wisdom. Barnes knows better than most as England never saw the best of him. If you play Jude deeper then Foden may be effective. Should England beat or draw with Denmark then for the last game play Gordon; Foden and Saka behind Kane or even Watkins. What may help Foden is a player like Watkins making runs in the channels freeing space up. But come on Southgate aint Pep.
Didn't he play as #10 vs Iceland where Jude wants even there? And btw he ghosted the whole game!
Hold on, isn't this the same Phil Foden that was brilliant largely playing on the left wing for several seasons before moving more centrally the season just gone? The same Phil Foden that never turned up for England prior to Bellingham breaking into the squad? I don't think it's where he's playing/playing with Jude and more-so about the England shirt weighing heavy or Southgate not getting the best out of him
Cancelo and ake make runs 😂 foden would drift 😂
Foden needs to deliver when he gets time, you can't keep blaming on Southgate or positions, when he gets the ball he needs to make things happen its simple as that, no more excuses by everyone! Foden whereever he plays he has to do the job and do it well! The player needs to stand up to challenges!
So record top scorer Kane is also average I guess?
The system is bad .. you all trying so hard to make Bellingham the best and golden boy and not being factual
Foden is a fantastic player, more than capable of playing on the left but yeah some truth in that he probably needs to adjust.
John Barnes is so on point.
Bellingham and Foden linked up well first 30 mins or so. Played a lot of one two’s, they’ll get better as tournament progresses.
Should be 4-3-3. Rice, Foden, Bellingham with Kane, Palmer, Saka up front but that might be a bit too advanced for Southgate
England will never see the best of any of its players
Tell me how to get rid of Southgate without saying get rid of Southgate...
Cole Palmer plays left and right

Seem like that Pep Man City system with 80% possession is where he belongs. He can't manage the directness of international football
Individuals instead of a team, that's the problem. Not to mention so many of our players like the ball to feet. Kane, Saka, Foden Bellingham, Palmer all like the ball at their feet in or around that 10 position. We have nobody running in behind.
They've known long before Bellingham that Foden can't play in midfield for England.
Would it make sense on form to put Saka on left, a midfield 3 of Bellingham, Foden and Rice, then Palmer on the Right against Denmark?
Foden has to be played centrally as that #10 playmaker. He’s superb when he receives the ball on the half turn and sprays passes around.
Bellingham will still have the same impact on the game deeper alongside Rice.
It’s a no brainier!
When was the last time Fodan played centrally at City? Only when Debruyn was not playing.

I agree with Barnes. Foden has been played in all foward positions by Pep and has excelled in all of them. We saw him play as a 10 against Iceland and he still struggled regardless. Based on the system Southgate plays Foden will not thrive henceforth he has to bench
Bellingham-Foden is like Gerrard-Lampard debate - Cannot play together !
John is spot on
Totally agree
Excellent 🎉
Whose the best player in the World ?
Bellingham is massively overrated too. He done fuxk all for Real Madrid in the latter stages of the season. He scores goal or assists to cover up stinkers 😂
@@olekmasidnoz9182Jude doesn't just score goals you know, where was Vini at the beginning of the season when Jude was winning el clasicos and Girona matches at the beginning of the season? He was La Liga player of the season for a reason, overrated is not the word... 😏😂
Personally think we shouldn’t be playing Kane. He doesn’t offer anything else besides a tap in, need a player almost like Havertz who acts as a pivot for the whole team and can make darting runs
Bellingham has main character syndrome. Hinders Kane and Foden’s game as he wants to occupy spaces available.
You are right, but it's hard to tell him to stop when he's on fire atm while kane and foden are underperforming. I don't think I have seen kane make a run off a defenders shoulder in 4 years!
It's been one game.
We call that best player in the world syndrome. Because he is. Kane will adapt, Bellingham doesn’t overlap much with him. But Foden needs to change it up. He’s gonna need to rediscover himself or else be swallowed by the media like now. And he can’t push Bellingham out of that position.
Then drop jude to accomodate foden
@MungaRaphael-lz3wx you are so right, jude is a black boy, he needs to make way for foden. If we keep rewarding places based on merit we will end up looking like the French squad!😡
Johnny we know it word for word mate. Top top bloke.
Jude wasn't playing against Iceland.... Foden still wasn't good as a 10. people just need to understand that these system players are average when they don't have the system and other players to do dirty work. Foden in Man City system got no responsibility. he get no blame and no pressure. people like Rashford carried his team and blame. Greanlish carried Villa.
Leave kane out put folden in its easy cause more problems up front
Just play 4-3-3 with Bellingham as the 7 and Foden as the 8. Then two wingers and Kane. You’d still have a back four protected by Rice
England can't bring the ball out of the back. Bellingham has to play alongside Rice and Foden plays behind Kane or on the right and Kane plays behing the striker.
Balance wasn't there and kane didn't really touch the ball either, something is not right
Both players like to take up the same space, which does not work. Play Bellingham as 10 and leave Foden on the bench. Play a wide man left and bring back Shaw as soon as he is fit.
Play him in his city role, ffs he was Premier league player of the year playing it 🤷🏼♂️
So you move Saka out of the right? Oh he likes to roam like Jude? So the best player in the world has to adapt to someone who’s worse than him? Bellingham is the face of the England team. Foden needs to adapt.
@@BiggestChungus21Bellingham in your opinion is best player in the world not mine. They are both that good they’d adapt, either could drop abit whilst the other is more forward
Foden has started for city off the left and played well. Bellingham does not stop foden from playing well. Foden just needs to get out of his own head.
I believe Kane is not the right fit for the english striker. Hes the best striker but not the best FIT. Watkins is a better fit imo.
Foden and palmer is better 10 than bellingham
Why not have fodden replace saka after 65mins... Play Gordon jude saka - manno rice
Trent stones grehi gomez
John Barnes hit the nail on the head different players different system at Man City.
We have to supply Harry Kane that's ALL that matters. Playing Bellingham too deep would be moronic too. Having Harry with 3 touches all game is a bad sign. We need pace and width and supply. Or we go home
At last someone talking sense! Well said John Barnes!
Has the easiest job in the world
If I was foden I'd just walk out of the camp and go on holiday until Southgate is sacked
I totally agree, this is like the gerard and lampard in the golden generation 🤔. You play one other, that has to jude Bellingham without dought 👍.
Through the media of course
My question to Guillem Balague is Trent neither of fallback nor midfielder what is his position?
We desperately need an old fashioned winger who can take on the full back and cross the ball like a prime John Barnes or Lee Sharpe...we just don't have these any more.
*Anthony Gordon* has entered the chat
I totally agree with big barnsey
The problem isn’t Foden, it’s Southgate. Player of the season, yet Southgate bends over backwards to accommodate TAA, who did nothing. Bellingham just marauds around the pitch as if he’s the only one that matters, it’s supposed to be a team game, not the Jude Bellingham show! There’s no fluidity, no communication, countless times Foden was asking for the ball, making himself available, but just ignored
Facts Bellingham scores goals to cover up his stinkers

Spot on John! Just bring Foden off the bench, get Jude at 100% for 60 minutes every game.
Barnes talks so much sense
I agree so its Foden on the bench for me.
Certainly wouldn't build a team around him, nobody owes him a living.
Bellingham is the Cream of the Crop, periodt. But, that doesn't take away from Foden's quality, I still rate him massively.
Spot On Barnsy!
Why the hell should Jude take a back seat to accommodate Foden? For 4yrs Foden had many chances and blee them all. He was playing the central against Iceland whilst Jude was resting after the CL and he did nothing. What does that say?!?
