    I have read that they recommend applying to at least ten schools. That’s so many tho.
    Congratulations!! That’s so exciting!

    I did not want this video to end. Great job! My jack dropped, which does not happen often, when you said you picked Washington University. I cannot believe you turned down Berkeley or the Ivy's! Blew my mind. I wish you the best and congratulations!

    The tier 14 law schools are hard to get into. For future applicants out there, if you can't get into a T14 school, then go to a regional law school. Employers like to recruit from regional law schools.

    All of the law schools you named are definitely law schools I would love to go to. I’m an incoming senior in highschool, so i’m looking at colleges. I was just wondering where you went for undergrad and what was your major?

    How will it affect you if you decide to go to law school in another state than the one you plan on practicing law in?

    • @tayy_kay
      @tayy_kay  4 года назад +1

      the school i'm going to has high placement rates across the country rather than just within their state, so it's really just a matter of taking the bar for wherever i decide i want to end up practicing (likely dc)!

    • @aalegalfocus
      @aalegalfocus 4 года назад +1

      In general, it's better to go to law school near where you plan to practice. Even in NC, I feel an aversion to people who went to non-North Carolina law schools and even having a Harvard degree isn't that impressive to the good ole boys.

    Did you apply immediately after undergrad or did you take time off before applying?

    • @tayy_kay
      @tayy_kay  4 года назад +4

      i took time off! i applied the fall after graduating, which would've originally given me a year of working before starting law school, but since i deferred, i will have taken two full years off by the time i start this fall.

    Just out of curiosity, is there any particular reason you didn't apply to Harvard Law School? Your stats pretty much put you right at both medians.

    • @tayy_kay
      @tayy_kay  3 года назад +1

      yes there is! none of the top three (harvard/yale/stanford) do merit-based scholarships, and graduating with minimal debt was something that i knew from the start was really important to me in choosing a school.

    Were any of those schools considered safety for you or were they all match/reach schools? I am just wondering because I am aiming/expecting to have similar stats and i'm planning on applying to a lot of these!

    • @tayy_kay
      @tayy_kay  4 года назад +3

      boston college would definitely qualify as a safety - the rest were mostly match schools, although i was much more confident in my chances for some of those (like wustl, vandy, and duke) than others!

    • @golfinguru11
      @golfinguru11 4 года назад

      Taylor Kay solid point, I’m just worried about grades (1Ls last year at least had first semester grades, who knows how being online will impact them or if they will even have them). I’m starting at USC in the fall if this Stanford waitlist doesn’t hit. apparently they’re trying a hybrid system but who tf knows what that looks like. Really is a shit show all around.
