Sheer Brilliance!! I have long loved her since my college days wearing out her recording of Frauenliebe und -leben!!!
Heard this first time, with Fassbaender singing it, when I was studying Music A Level hundreds of years ago - she blew me away and I have NEVER forgotten it!
Played in Asheville NC last night. I’ve never heard such a floral piece of music. I envisioned Rossini composing in a garden with flowers, bees, birds.. cups of tea.
My favourite mezzo by a million miles!!! It's just mind-blowing. Not only hugely connected, technically brilliant singing; but also such charisma and pathos.
It must be the 40th time i've watched this and my body still produces CHILLS at that stunning finale!!!! Volcanoes of wailing tone. She is just authenticity and fearlessness personified!!!
