Katatonia is a Swedish metal band formed in Stockholm in 1991 by Jonas Renkse (formerly aka Lord Seth) and Anders Nyström (formerly aka Blakkheim). The early Katatonia albums are noted for the overall melancholy of their sound, often giving them the classification of doom metal. Katatonia's more recent albums have progressed to a wider sound, with modern overtones, dropped guitars, symphonic synths and arrangements, alternative sounds and generally heavier riffs.

I absolutely love this great song from "Night is the New day" an epic album, emotionally breathtaking, one of my favorites of all times.
This was really the last time they did something new. Usually they did it with each album.
This album helped me a lot during the most difficult time of my life.

God, the first 18 seconds is one of the best intros in music.
every song is written so well each song makes you feel makes you cry hurts deep inside is amazing i truely think they have become my favorite band . I have only just heard of them 3 months ago and i cant listen to anything else

Regular people just can't understand this music they haven't suffered from cheating, personal problems, depression, or anxiety one of the best songs from the album, and plus mainstream music makes my ears bleed.

People will hate me for this remark but, as much as all their new music is still awesome, still amazing, still some of the best metal out there... There was a certain beauty to the simplicity of of Last Fair Deal and Tonight's Decision, that was lost to the complexity of their later albums Viva Emptiness and on.

@asalynd i see what u mean - but on the other hand when i'm driving and listening to this cd which is amazing! then i switch to any other album with the exception of last fair deal and the rest are just Too soft compared to this one.
