Another quick tip. If you already have a few of the islands mounts and they share a crate with a mount you want definitely target that crate. As crates will not drop duplicate mounts thus increasing the odds you'll get something you actually want.

I have the Jelly and Craghorn xD it dropped for me randomly from Island Expeditions 😊 I got the Jelly on my birthday randomly after I was done with Island Expeditions. So im glad I got an Epic drop on my Birthday😊 this made me even happier.
6-8 is a normal time for a 3man running 450ish ilevel gear. 3-4 mins with mythic ilevel is possible though. My mixed group of a 440 tank, 453 lock, and 435 mage is about 6-8 mins with 2 large pulls.
I got 5 mounts in about 8 boxes. Then proceeded to open 12 Crestfall and Dire Mire to look for Squawks. No luck yet. This week is the first time that the dog is available. Going to test my luck with that. Also the moose and the yeti come from almost any purple or blue box. Those 2 are easiest to get.
how many chests did you use? im hunting squawks since bfa release but quit before the release of the crates and now im grinding the shit out of it to get squawks basicly.
from my second box i got the island thunder as my first island mount and was extremely excited so i went and started farming more islands and literally the very next island i got the craig horn chasm leaper mount from the actual island. I guess it only takes 1k plus islands to actually get the mounts haha.
Something you didn't mention in the video but it's important. If you have enough dubloons to buy 2+ crates at once don't do it. Buy a crate, open it, then buy another crate. The reason is to prevent duplicate mounts from dropping. They might have patched this, but this was the case on release.
I'm on the same boat mate... Just came back to BfA after I stopped playing at the start of S2 I've been farming expeditions for days now and I got nothing
You need 2 others to even queue for the island. But they can technically be solo'd now in bfa. I run 3 accounts and solo a mythic island with a DH in roughly 4-5 minutes. The other 2 just sit on the ship.
@@dyingearth They are horrendous on the AH on my server when available. I haven't bought enough boxes to see if the clothes correspond to the location, but I hope that Havenswood will drop it.
All my characters have like 11-30 doubloons and I quickly realised I’ll never have enough for a cache Hopefully Shadowlands expansion features aren’t dead on arrival and useless for the whole expansion like warfronts and islands
I am thinking about back burnering this until Shadowlands and then just go in and one shot everything. Might make it slightly less painful. Then again, it is something to do in the downtime until the next xpac.
I've actually had more luck with the islands themselves dropping mounts. Got the moose and the thunderscale last week just casually spamming heroic islands
I recommend just waiting for Shadowlands when you can one shot most mobs with ease. In a group of three you probably can get 1000 doubloons without any worrying especially if they bring back a new legendary that gives crazy movement speed or some strong AOE effect.
Doubt it because getting all the mounts still takes like 40 hours if you include the 1000 doubloons and 500 doubloon mounts but a good thing to keep in mind.

6-8 min is too much, a good group can do it in 3 minutes sometimes less! Good guide.

The research on the ship doesnt increase dubloon drop after the island, but when you loot the 3 dubloons on the island itself.

If you don't learn the mount a dup can't drop. Once you learn it, it will not.
Saved 2*k dubloons for boxes. Dropped it all in the first 2 weeks. Sweet EFF all!!!! Fml

Not really. If you're unlucky like me you spend around 2k dubloons on caches without getting any mounts. Got one while grinding dubloons though
