I really like your approach of showing what it's like to do these on a character with lower ilvl. You take a really thoughtful approach to WoW content that I appreciate.

I love how adventurous the UI looks, so inmersive, plus the fact that you don't use dmg meters, makes it feel like you genuinely enjoy the game.
Don’t forget to spec into Island Plunderer to get more doubloons. You buy this with war resources(talk to Eitrigg for horde, idk who alliance one is)

Honestly I never touched expeditions during BfA myself, largely because my friends dropped off around that time. Seeing how easy it will be to solo has encouraged me to farm the content, because I may as well add to my mount collection. I have a feeling my main Vengeance Demon Hunter will make this a breeze.
I'm playing DH Havoc item lvl 266 and I can pull half the island
There are ways to increase the drop chance of the mounts during the runs. For example if you want to raise the chance for the Risen Mare to drop during your run then the more undead mobs you kill during your island run will influence that chance. Same thing for a dragon drop, you kill the dragon type mobs. To get the parrots you aim for the pirate type mobs. It doesn't guarantee you the drops but it raises the chances. I have gotten more mounts from the islands than the chests so I believe in the theory.

I started playing in Shadowlands. I did grind out enough for a couple chests getting only two doubloons per island run. And then I found out there is some sort of buff you can get from an NPC just to the right of the mission table. …. Which I don’t have. Sone day I’ll have to figure that out. But I did get the bat mount to drop from a rare and Sqwaks from my second chest. Since I wanted those two the most, I haven’t been back.
@Kraken Latte a very helpful tip for farming island expeditions is having Island Plunderer as your tier 3 option for research which gives you a chance to receive additional dubloons on island expeditions.
I loved isle expeditions, I never knew that you could do a solo one though.
I know the group ones, each tier higher gives more doubloons for completion, but group finding especially now is a hassle. So thank you for the new information.
I think the solos are a new addition but I’ll be grinding them for awhile 😂

Just a note because I was looking into Normal / HC / Mythic islands. There is a blue post that actually confirmed, that you have a higher chance of item drops on higher difficulties. So if you use the dubloon method only, you should be faster with normal islands, but on mythic (if you have a good equipped character) you have a higher chance for mounts / transmog / pets / extra dubloon pouches

Had no idea you can solo que now and since groups are few and far between I gave up a long time ago. Started today and about 10 matches I got a surf jelly mount in mythic que. Almost useless as far as mounts go but still adds to my mount total. Fingers crossed on a parrot! thank you for the video.

Mythic expenditions DO reward more Dubloons, a lot more in fact, and they take the same amount of time as normal ones.
I really wish they would do an update on these older models because the way they look so outdated doesn’t make me want to achieve getting them. I find it weird when the old content is clashed with the new content. Hopefully this next expansion after Dragonflight does that sense the entire world of Azeroth is being updated.

I got a drop for the bat mount and got sqwacks on my second salvage chest. Those were the two mounts I really wanted so I lost interest in doing islands. I want you to know that it wasTHIS video that encouraged me to go for them. Thanks!

Seriously, though, I have barely been in them and they seemed neat while I was leveling, but I was kinda focused on getting that toon to 60 at the time, not exploring. It's good to know going back to poke around will be met with minimal resistance. Thank you!!!
Back in BfA as Hunter or DK I already did this solo and duo on Heroic at lvl 120 and with Warfront Gear ilvl + M+ 5 max items. And I pulled HUGE groups.. So now at lvl 60 at any ilvl shouldn't be a big problem! Great video! For anyone else.. ilvl 229 greenies from AH gives you a nice head start as well.. You might set back 10k or more if you want trinkets but it will help you and your alts out in the long run.

Now to wait and hope for them to do this with Warfronts as well... I spent THE ENTIRE OF BFA doing the Arathi Warfront on a clothie, and still, STILL never had the cloth shoulders drop!!

I feel that. I spammed Warfronts like mad and still didn't get all the mog from them. They lowered the number of people for normal Warfronts to 5, but...good luck getting even 5 people to do them lol.

Already got 2 mounts! It's insane how I got nothing all expansion but you can solo run and buy these boxes in comparatively no time.

Island expedition is kinda the best look Wise when it comes to well anything. I set my hunter up to look like the vrykul. Using the dragon riders harness. Probably one of my favorite mail gear pieces.

I have been farming on my 226 iLVL catchup gear Affliction Warlock. Mythics are fairly easy, take me on average 13 minutes, and have given me 9-22 dubloons per run + cosmetics. Normals are not worth it because you can get as little as 2 dubloons per run and it takes 10+ minutes.

Just a reminder, it's way faster to do it has a DPS, the tanks Damage has been nerfed during BFA for the extrem and fast farm.
The damage received on Mythic is absolutely 0 so don't be afraid it really easy.
This is an awesome video! I need to start back up on island expeditions. I had one mount drop for me out of IE- the moose…I don’t remember his name.
As you show, you don't really need gear or a tank spec - even at the start of Shadowlands I used my fresh 60 to collect some dubloons by triple boxing with alts (also gave those alts a third of a level or so each for every completed expedition iirc). This was before they even added solo queues, I just left the other two characters on the boat.

higher difficulties do drop more doubloons from the bag you get at the end. On average normal gives you 3-6, heroic gives you 7-10 and mythic gives you 10 or more. Although sometimes you'll get a lower tier bag for no apparent reason.
It's extremely random! I tend to get 10-15 in normals fairly frequently, but my friends certainly get the low 3-6 occasionally XD
@@KrakenLatte I just learned I didn't have the extra doubloons trait from the BFA war resources talent tree active! I could have been getting even more! Now with the trait a mythic bag can go up to 29!
200+ Havoc Demon Hunter can do mythics with zero issue. Spec for AoE damage. Big pulls, kill the other faction NPCs if they ever get close to your azerite total.

All the things will tell you exactly what comes out of those chests.
Try arcane mage at level 10. You can do normals but you won't get that Dubloon buff from research on the boat so it is slower despite killing everything easily. You can also use them to level some alts and simultaneously farm Dubloons.
Do low levels get the same amount of doubloons from it as 50+ characters do?
@@PelinAyter Probably yes. However, there are some caveats. You can do only normal difficulty and you can't get the upgrade perk from the boat (). I don't remember exact number but I think I was getting 1-5 dubloons/run. Level 60 has probably an advantage in being able to pull whole Island and finish quickly because mobs should stay at level 50-52.

For people watching this during Dragonflight/Prepatch: Something with the level scaling system seems to be weird, so queuing for normal mode will be MUCH harder and take much longer than mythic simply due to the level scaling. Mythic seems to be the best option right now.

Does killing the rares matter for what loot drops? Or is the goal just to win and the rares are random no matter what you killed?

Your videos are awesome I just found ur channel and I love em! Man I hate these mounts I can’t get any of them to drop from island expeditions. I did a bunch last night and my friend got four mounts in one night. I have gotten 3 in total since bfa 😅 the crates have a way lower drop rate than they should considering how long it takes to farm 175 doubloons
island expeditions..so much potential still sitting there waiting for blizz to do more.
I do hope they pick up on the idea of islands again! Just the exploration itself is so cool to be and there is SO much open sea on Azeroth that just has to be dotted with islands formed after the Sundering. Idc about Azerite and doing timed competition against a team...I just want to explore!

233 is relatively deep into current content, late patch.
More reasonable for most people is roughly around 160 - 180. And even then it's very doable just because of max level.

No it's not you can literally buy 226 gear for 500 anima in any slot in haven. 160-180 would be just having hit 60, literally doing anything once you hit max level will get you >200 ilvl

Have you done the Warlords of Draenor Garrison Invasions solo? Now that they scale up to your level they’re not sit back and relax anymore. Any suggestions for soloing to get max score (and chance at mounts)?
I have! I haven't had any issues (besides the last mount still not dropping), it just takes being really diligent and running around like wild to get platinum I've noticed. It might be easier on a ranged spec though, I do it on Paladin.
I’ve been farming Island Expeditions the past couple days, (if not for the random drops, then for the doubloons for the albatross) and frankly I’m going to be really irate if I get the jellyfish before anything else. Aquatic mounts are so bs unless they function on land and in water (like the ottuks), kinda slimey to include a water only mount in the loot pool

i have the albatross mount i love it, those boxes are very good, you can get more than one mount i think sometimes
You can solo these basically with anything at all. Im doing solo expeditions with a fresh level 10 and winning still.
tried it and so far got 3 new pets

How long does it take to get in a group ? Idk if people even do them anymore and I don't see a q time. Also I noticed heroic and mythic does have more dublooms form the bags

I feel like maybe for a video called How to Solo Farm Island Expedition Mounts, you should maybe have mentioned that killing specific things can drop specific mounts
Fairly certain that hasn't been a thing since mid-bfa when they changed how island loot generation works. Initially it was based on what you kill. Now it gives loot based on what spawned on that island, not what you killed.
This change was largely made because people were just killing rares and not even trying to win for more loot chances.

@@xINVISIGOTHx that is no longer the case. If those things spawn on that island, you have a chance to loot it
@@Downbythebay22 I still wish this video listed what inhabitants drop what mounts (whether you kill them or not) it was the main reason I clicked the video and I think it should be mentioned. Like if you're just trying to get whatever dragon mount, it should say "you can only get the dragon mount if there's dragons on the island, if you don't have a dragon island this week, just wait till next week"

you said mounts dont drop from expeditions.. had mount drop at my 16ths run on mythic solo run. and 2 pets within those runs
Some of the transmogs are going for 500k so what is the difference in drops for the different difficultly levels.

ZM, 1st vendor you come to as you come out of portal and head up to the starting quest area, just inside, right side.
In the time it took me to get the albatross I managed to get the bat and panda like mount from drops

Kinda wanted also to see how hard is mythic one, with that decently geared character (if even soloable).. And main thing, how many dubloons you actually geta after finishing each 😀
I used my 239 Ret Pally on Mythic and it takes awhile to get 12k azerite. the other faction also gets azerite pretty fast too so you are actually challenged. It is soloable though, probably not with fresh 60 gear.

I would say buy the albatross and the other mount before starting buying these chests
when i do it on normal the mobs are lvl 60 and take alot longer to kill then when i play on hc where they are 50, has it changed or is my game bugged
