Michael Richards is hands down such a good actor. He’s a very serious person in general, it just goes to show that he can tap into different emotions, he was a perfectionist. Hardly had any errors. Kramer played him well
Maximillian Osaben Dude, don’t be a smartass. The way in which George lost his composure and spit out water really made it seem that it was his genuine reaction.
I love how George takes his time revealing it to them. He’s just ecstatic that he knows something that they don’t, and enjoys rubbing it in their faces. Then the brief pause before he actually says the name … what a performance by the legendary Jason Alexander.
Yeah idk. In the 90s we had Oklahoma City bombing , Rodney King riots, Iraq war part 1, Waco, Ruby Ridge, Khobar tower bombing, Monika Lewinsky ,and we capped it off with Columbine. The 90s were not great we just didn’t have access to information as quickly as we do now.
It's just the feeling of youth that you had. It's been over 20 years, and you are no longer improving with age. Every year is another scratch on the bucket. You've already peaked, it's all downhill from here.
How lucky was Sheree North to be the first one to utter the name?! There should have been a bigger reaction, but I think it caught the audience by surprise. They were too shocked to laugh.
it makes sense. Those 2 need to be controlled in order to pull the perfect reaction out of them. Jerry needs to be controlled because he can't act very well, while Julia - although she can act - she oftentimes was the one ruining many takes because she couldn't control her laughter. So, it makes all of the sense in the world for the producers not to disclose Kramer's first name to them beforehand. I think the same thing had happened in the Biggus Dickus sketch of Monty Python, where the centurions (played by extras) didn't know the lines beforehand, and their reactions turned out to be genuine and hilarious as fuck. The entire BD scene is a laughter fest
This is why this show is such a success it is funny and when you could cry laughing you know you got something going here this was the funniest episode ever Cosmo he's out there all right
Thats my actual name, im Cosimo. Pretty much cosmo, but no "i" All my friends call me "cosi" Cosimo: from the greek name Cosmo Meaning: order, harmony, the universe
I'd like to think they were actually laughing at the name. Like that director's didn't tell the actors so the laughter would be genuine. Juat a little thought
Never could understand why Jerry didn't just ask the landlord what his first name was. Kramer had to sign a lease and had to have put his first name as well as his last name.
Seinfeld 30th anniversary year this year, I feel sick thinking about that fact, where has it all gone, I remember a time when I thought it was so cute to see a woman in full burka, I thought Trump was a New York something to do with something, I trusted what politicians said mostly, the police I think then were on my side, windows were open and we liked each other kinda, how things have changed.
Did jason Alexander just spit out his water unplanned? The water bottle was part of a pre planed prop so where was he suppose to aim the water if the spit was pre planed?

Is anyone else reminded of kramer by the actor Timothy Carey from paths of glory and the killing of a Chinese bookie? He is incredibly awkward on screen and everytime I see him can't not think about kramer, and vice versa. Check out RuudiLand
I love when George gets just one little thing worked out for him he immediately uses that to look down on his friends.
There has never -- before or since -- been anyone more 'Cosmo' in the history of television.
Beeker from the Muppets would've made a good Cosmo.😱 LOL
Cosmo from fairly odd parents
@@stepan5455 I was just about to mention him! 🐰💖
Fairly odd parents has a cosmo
Rick Rose my parents named me after this scene!
One of the grestest sitcom charaters of all time. COSMO Kramer
I think probably the best!
I agree
Still my favorite 22 yrs after the show ended.
George Costanza surpasses him slowly and steadily
@@amitpalve6089 George is the better character, but Cosmo may be the FUNNIEST
“Oh, she’s a Kramer.”
The way elaine and jerry say ''COSMO?!?'' together and in those high voices, hahaha
Them laughing and being so excited to hear it, makes me feel so much warmth endearing. I don't think that's on a lot of tv comedies now.
Michael Richards is hands down such a good actor. He’s a very serious person in general, it just goes to show that he can tap into different emotions, he was a perfectionist. Hardly had any errors. Kramer played him well
Go on RUclips and check out his cameo on the 80's show "Night Court". Its wild..
He also often got flustered when there was a gaffe while shooting -- it was hard for him to recreate a lot of the things he improvised on set.
Yeah but he did have this one error
Cosmo Kramer....The Assman
I think the Kramer character is a combo of Andy Kaufman & Christopher Lloyd's characters from Taxi. Michael Richards knew both actors very well.
"it's not such a bad name" - after laughing their assess off about it for 5min
funny and bad are rarely synonyms. So yes, it isn't a bad name. Just funny and unusual, but not bad...
@@blabla-rg7ky a little galaxy brain there bud. one of the main reasons one wouldn't want a "bad" name is because people would laugh/make fun of it

Elaine & George laughed more when Jerry showed his haircut at the diner.
In the last scene, Newman is making out with Babs and Kramer enters. Babs, startled to see her son, is like "Cosmo!" And then Newman's like "Cosmo?"
