I don't own a Mini, but always fancied one. Especially the R53. Great video 👍🏻 Also, don't be afraid to ditch the crap royalty free YT music. Just having the sounds of you work on it, and the dialogue is enough.

Probably the best video I’ve watched someone taking the supercharger off specially those pesky vacuum hoses that are so brittle. I’ve been holding off watching this series as I wanted to see the whole process from start to finish. I’m looking forward to watching the the others. Keep up the great content, for me it’s a good mix of length and technical content, you’ve got it spot on imo 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video. Im not a mechanic but did replace the front os suspension and wing on my wifes car after a minor crash and when i finally got it back together i vowed never to do it again so this is another level. At least the weather is on your side as well.
😂 Thanks, I feel the pain with Suspension especially when it comes to the pinch bolts on these cars. Like most things Mini it’ll either be rusted or snapped 😂

😂 Once you’ve got the front end off, most of it is pretty accessible. If you’re good with a basic set of tools you can do most jobs on these. Thanks for watching, Hopefully you’ll watch the next one - Haven’t put you off that much 😂

I assume the fragments of timing chain mechanism were the result of a previous failure which has previously been replaced? In other words, there is no problem with the current chain?
The chain was replaced by the garage who sold the car, there is an actual receipt for that, and I could see the chain when the sump pan was removed. The chain looked new, and from what I could see of the guides they looked complete. So yeah I think this is old guide fragments and of course a cable tie from somewhere 😂
The backing music in this video was annoying as heck. First of all the same song over and over on repeat, and the volume keeps varying going up when nothing is said. And the speakers on my tablet seem to favour the volume of the music..it drives me nuts... Best not to play anything at all. You clearly know your stuff, and you have enough interesting things to say for yourself. Video's like this don't need music. People who watch a half hour+ video in a long series do this for the content, you don't need to worry they'll get bored or that their attention will drift off. We're all automotive enthousiasts here with a passion for technique, not some housewife that needs to fill up a few minutes of her time with mindless entertainment (sorry housewives all over the world...I had to negatively generalize a social group here to make a point😉). Keep up the great content!👍(without the music)
@@mrpetit2 😂 It’s noted, obviously I’m new to all this, but if you check the community tab out, there is a couple of posts relating to the videos and length, music etc. The good news is, that as the series goes on the music becomes pretty much none existent because a few people said similar things, and I’ll take the feedback on board and apply it when there is a consensus. The other part to this is, that originally I wasn’t going to do these type of videos, and it was all about ‘How To’ videos and I put the JCW video up as a test which people reacted well to. I do need to sort the volume out, I’m the first to accept that, and I think part of that would be beneficial from a better microphone, and secondly learning to talk comfortably which I think the more videos that i do, the easier this will be. Hopefully you’ll see as it goes on, then music becomes less intrusive, there is more talking, and hopefully you’ll notice a bit of an improvement as it goes on. Thanks for the comments, hopefully you’ll stick around, and check out the community tab occasionally as I have asked for feedback on certain aspects to the videos, and action the results. While you’re in service mode, drop the subframe and replace the control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, inner track rods, and inner ball joints.
