7:00 Same here in the US...the stores basically dictate what you can buy and only few of the same stores to choose from. I think this is because western countries long capitalist tradition. Corporations procure whatever merchandise they think is profitable, shelf life, the number of storage space are all factor. Chinese government still supports small vendors/business. In order to survive, they have to sell stuffs others vendors don't have, same goes for bigger stores. Here, walmart and target monopolized and dictate your choice and careless your need because you have to get what the store sells.

I also live in Kunming. If it's not urgent, I usually choose online shopping. When it comes to food, I always order takeout. Hahaha, I'm glad you chose to live here. If I met you and your mother on the street, I would definitely be happy to say hello
