my other favorite uses for boop: 1. boop mercys out of the rez animation, 2. boop escaping enemies from the side in order to make them miss the door or get stuck in a corner, 3. boop+primary+melee messes up tracer's one clipping and forces recall, 4. wallride above enemy zarya as she uses personal shield and boop her into your team after it expires
#2 especially on rein charges. It fucks up their escape or pinn so well

Good video, I’ve got nearly 100 hours as lucio and he’s my main but i still learnt some good tricks, cheers bud.
I think this is one of my favorite eras of Overwatch in terms of gameplay. Maybe a little bit earlier. Miss all the lost gameplay mechanics and pre reworks. It's fun now but in different ways.

Something to add here. You can still boop someone in a zarya bubble. You just have to walk into it so that you are in the bubble and the boop will work. Unless they did something to patch this in the blizzard world update, I think it still works

Another tip is that if someone is close to you, you can combo with a boop and melee right after and if you time it right youll hit both

Surefour has one on his channel, but the biggest thing is 1) mess with settings till you're comfortable 2) practice and maybe 3) do drills (aim hero, anabots, etc). Once you get to a higher level, drills won't help as much, but especially when you're just learning, figuring out how to make your shots intentional, learn the way that your aim is affected by movement (can you keep on a target while strafing? jumping? ad/crouch spamming?) are all really important ways to boost your aim.
I'm back after a month and got an update. 8ffa doesn't help much to me, people there are as bad as quick play players (no offense) and it doesn't encourage me to aim well. In comp I am forced to aim well in order to get out of a 1v1. One weird thing I did was do widowmaker hs only matches for 30 minutes to an hour a day. While in these, take the opportunity to find a better crosshair and sensitivity (don't use a crosshair because every other Lucio main uses it, I fell into this trap and used a circle, small medium and big, none worked, I eventually went with a dot, which I use for everything now) . It helps with mouse grip and control over your mouse In general, and quick flicking (which helps in most types of aim although it isn't the focus of Lucio aim, but for example if you are wall riding high to kill a widow, if you have your crosshair locked on her head fast, once you get down to her level, a punch and a boop is all that will take to kill her because Lucio headshot do good dmg, so it helps with engaging in battles. Go to practice range, strafe and aim at the moving bots, then just play comp and get better understanding of projectile speed so it is 2nd nature to you. Always shoot so you are forced to practice aim. Lucio t500 players have no problem getting gold dmg in ranks like plat and diamond. One good Lucio, I forgot the name, has an avg or 13k dmg but something like 23% accuracy. So it is low, but only because he always shoots. 13k is higher than people like funnyastro, so it is very good and the accuracy number doesn't matter at that point. Always try to click heads, use backwards wallriding (in settings) so you can wallride while shooting, and bam, just keep playing. Also osu helps with mouse control and grip, like widowmaker hs only, but it has different difficulty levels unlike widow hs only matches which is filled with good widows. BTW I never play widow in qp or comp, but it does help me on Lucio, weird, but good warmup.
You can speed boost in front of an enemy that's running away to boop them back into your team.
You can go behind the enemies while they're at a choke and push the support in front of the tanks.
Combo it with Mei at chokes to wall off more people.
I'm not sure if it's a mechanic or bug but I find that standing inside zarya's bubble will allow you to boop her
then again this is only from comp/qp experience so actually testing this would be nice

very useful cheers. imo the most useful tip in the video is at 4:15 cos u can actually lay a full round of shots before they even hit the ground and surprisingly does a lot of damage. what's your sensitivity though? and also do you spam jump when jumping around walls or only click when u need to?

I've managed to pushed it before, but I'm not sure when it cant be anymore. You can push D.VA's ult in the early stage of it so you could in fact get rid of it before it blows up
You forgot to mention bopping them off the objective in overtime. Always works for me.

Hey Eskay, about what you said in the end about punching and then booping, it's better to boop first because you can use a melee his while the boop is underway for a quick combo
If a teammate is in a lot of trouble then speed boost in and amp healing after booping the enemy away. This will almost always save your teammate. You can also do this if someone is behind Orisa’s shield shooting her
you can also do the same thing to road hogs if your the one getting hooked. just boop him away before he shoots if it even hits you. youll always live through this unless your already pretty low on health
If you check out some hog guides a good hog will kill you everytime as lucio, (latency not included for melee)
Hey, awesome video Eskay! I love your lucio guides, I learnt from them to wallride decently, I can still improve. Actually I have a question, how can I improve my aim with lucio on close range? Everytime I try going against a widow I have problems confirming the kill because I can't really aim that good on close range. Now that I saw this guide I know the trick about booping and then shoot where they're gonna land but this on its own won't confirm the kill.
Practice lucio in FFA deathmatches. That gives you very condensed practice in landing shots on squishies. Also practice the boop+melee combo. It is an important finisher, especially against very mobile characters.

I try and call out my boops if we are midfight or on cart or something, that way my team knows to be ready to adjust their aim. It works well to disorientate the enemy because they usually aren't expecting boop when not next to a ledge.

The new movement changed to lucio which is now live is giving me aids; I can no longer gain proper speed momentum as I’m losing it to left and right movements to walls and always have to aim in the direction to wallride and can’t aim at the enemies without losing all momentum or going in that direction; another thing is that you can no longer Bhop and maintain proper speed which was my bread and butter for open areas. Don’t get me started on booping enemies.
Do cover this! As a fellow lucio main these movement changes completely destroyed him

The distance seems wacky af. Some Lucios boop me from like 10 meters away, but when i try it i have to be right in the enemys face for them to get displaced

Eskay, if the friendly Lucio is speed boosting and the enemy Lucio boops my teammate, will it make my teammate go farther? It seems like speed modification game mechanics are at play because Dva and Orisa both don't go as far, so it's entirely possible that Lucio speed boosting will also make them fly father.

Why do enemies go so far when you boop them? When I boop enemies, they land right in front of where I booped them. Idk how to get environmental kills
Environmental kills have to be planned ahead of time. You can just go for a Boop at times cause they will reposition themselves you have to get behind them and sneak up to Boop depending on the map of course
