Eskay. I am proud to call myself a lucio one trick with a combined 300+ hours on lucio (understanding that the hours is very short compared to many others). I origionally placed bronze in ow1 and am currently diamond 5 while having peaked diamond 4 last season. This video opened my eyes to some spots i never even considered even though they were obvious. I beg of you to release your secrets.
Every day, before every session I open a custom game and just study a new map. This helps me with wallriding and it works as a kind of warm up at the same time. Nothing big, just 15min per session. From playing the game I kinda have an idea of where I want to be and where I want to go so now it's just a matter of finding the most optimal path. I am much better on the maps that I already covered compared to others where I'm just winging it. To any new Lucio mains: don't give up! There is a huge learning curve to wallriding but after about a week or two you're going to see a lot of progress. You just have to push through the first few clunky hours. Also don't make the mistake I made and skim all the time. Late skimming is actually faster.
It's funny, the more edited content is absolutely excellent but I would be really happy to just get raw VODs as well because Eskay is really fun to watch in general.
I was struggling with vertical curve. I just wasn't gauging the distance of the lip I was jumping. This video helped bunches! So thank you for posting! Also the late jump mechanic helps. I'd love to learn more! There was a moment I got the jump speed from jumping off of flat ground(no walls or objects to wall jump from) on Dorado, but I think it was a bug or glitch.
Please share the knowledge of the hidden tech. Your videos make Lucio look both fun and effective. Which really boosted my desire to learn and practice him. Thank you for making these helpful guides, I'm gonna share the videos with my friend who likes Lucio. I hope you have a great day 😁👍

Frogger has a video on DPS Lucio but it's more like a general guide for how Lucio should be played. That in combination with Eskay's tutorials on wallriding should be the definitive guides for how to play the frog man.

Why is it that sometimes while wallriding, lucio randomly goes backwards on me? I only hold W. or the weird glitch where he spazes out on a corner for a second then either goes forwards or backwards? Also sometimes my momentum just stops dead after jumping off a wall. I do it quickly but it will happen on occasion. Yet here it looks fluid and smooth but mine looks like I gain speedy bursts then I clunk off the wall. Also, scroll wheel will randomly hold a wallride or not even register. It's so frustrating! HELP
She mentioned in the last guide video (you should check it out, it's good and I'm just paraphrasing here based off memory) that if you only flex Lucio and don't plan on getting too good at him, it's not very bad, it's good enough and is fine to leave on. But if you want to get good at the wallriding, the option takes control away from you and limits your potential (she shows what this looks like exactly in the first guide video), and you can't do some key techs like Lateskims (which she talked about some in this video). It really does help your performance a lot, and at the same time if you want to get better it limits your potential. Whether or not that trade-off suits you and the way you enjoy playing the game is something only you can decide.
I just noticed the timing on the lateskim is almost identical to the camera shifting back to it's normal tilt from full tilt wallrun, for those who it helps!!
Is there a version of this for us poor console players? I know the mechanics are the same, but I just can't figure out the floaty speed with my controller.
Also I'm Haninge trouble surviving when "reddit lucio'ing" i want to be around my team for support aswell. And im pretty decent at wallriding. Just aint getting the consistant kills without dying yet. Need tips to achieve that kamikaze mode haha.
