      imo, it is better to fold the string several times so that it breaks where you fold it
      this way you can avoid string curls

      @@TomoFujitaMusic Hello Tomo, I hope you are doing well. I am 49 years old and just started playing the guitar 6 months ago. I am certain I am doing everything incorrectly and have never taken lessons. I have been learning and can play a few songs, but again, I a, sure I am doing it incorrectly. From holding the pick, to how I hold my fingers, I am sure it is all wrong. I was hesitant in even beginning because I had an accident nearly 30 years ago and cannot feel 3 fingers or my thumb on my left hand. Only can sense pressure but because of how my nerves were put back together during the surgery, when I put pressure on one finger, I feel it on another. Do you think I could still possibly learn guitar in an effective way with this condition? Do you think your courses could help me? Thank you for any input. Please have a nice day

    hey just so you guys know, I intonate with the 3, 5, 7, and 12 frets. in fact I start with 3 and then work my way back. you should be able to reach a point where they are all very in tune. if you can't do that, then it's likely something else is wrong with your setup, usually either the string height or neck relief is too wrong for the guitar to play in tune. of course, you also have to intonate in playing position and your pickups can't be too close to the strings or the magnetic pull will mess with the string's tuning.

    Long scale Jackson Ibanez, set trust rod flat, no relief. Measure at 12 fret 2/64 or 1/32 across or till buzz. Fender streight neck no relief, 2/64 or 1/32 across till buzz. Short scale necks like Gibson need a little more close to 3/64. Gibsons also need some relief. For all if you buzz at 1 st fret back off the trust rod. 2mm causes choppy playing, fingers tripping. PRS are the easy almost no relief in the neck 2/64, PRS are the most fluid to play. You want to be fluid in your playing and not always sounding like you are playing for 2 years. 51 years playing building and setting up guitars. I have 30 just ask them.

    Thank you Tomo! I want to buy amp. What you can suggest - Hot Rod Deluxe or 65 Deluxe Reverb? 65 Deluxe seems very close to Blackface spec, but the price... Maybe you know some other alternatives? Thanks

    • @chrisaldridge3117
      @chrisaldridge3117 3 года назад +1

      My 2 cents. The hotrod deluxe is a fantastic amp. I haven't tried the 65 Reverb but for the coin you get a lot of amp with the hot rod deluxe. Just get yourself an attenuator as that is a loud amp my friend! You pick one up cheap and use it in the Fx loop. Lets you work the tubes harder and get a nice rich sound without blowing out your ear drums!

    • @SuperBatiskaf

    Wow, those squier bullets look really played. I don't know why but everytime I see one, it always looks brand new. Here the frets look played and the headstock doesn't look as white as brand new. Since when do you have these guitars?
    Also some of these tips are excelent and I never heard them before, like the coin one and the paper one.

    IMHO, that is way too much string on your pegs... all of the string has to stretch before the tuning is stable... some of my restring jobs have less than a complete revolution of string on it (the wound strings, mainly) whereas the treble strings have 2 winds, give or take... my guitars (even my cheap ones with the 'crappy' tuners) all stay in tune... just my 2 yens worth...

    Tomo could please make a video on how to CONNECT a looper pedal to an amp? Just got a looper pedal (RC-3) and when i tried connecting all three things; guitar, looper and pedal, i realized that my guitar wasn’t connected to the amp and so no sound was coming. I don’t know how else to connect it either. Please if anyone knows what to do let me know🙏

    • @Nirmanyu
      @Nirmanyu 3 года назад +1

      You'll need three cables. The guitar goes into the pedal input, pedal output goes into the looper input, and finally the looper output goes into the amp input. Make sure all the wires are good, well connected, and everything is turned on and in the right setting.

    • @TomoFujitaMusic
      @TomoFujitaMusic  3 года назад

      Very simple! From Guitar to the looper and to the amp!

    Here's another one. In order to prevent your strings from rusting, wipe them clean with a dry cloth after playing, then apply a light coat of lubricant. It's important that the lubricant is not water based, as that will cause it to rust faster. The lubricant will prevent humidity and water from getting in contact with the string metal. That way, you'll only need to change your strings once they have lost their springiness and don't hold their pitches anymore. I use and recommend Tri-Flow. It's a synthetic teflon general purpose lubricant.

    • @dashcamcalifornia5003
      @dashcamcalifornia5003 3 года назад

      dude this is so simple. will just dry wiping be worth while? or do you really need the lube?
