Nancy Marks, who had served as treasurer for Santos’ 2020 and 2022 campaigns as well as campaigns of other New York politicians including former Rep. Lee Zeldin, said she had left the post last week. And a year-end filing submitted late Tuesday night listed Andrew Olson as the Santos campaign’s new treasurer.
That was the same day both those groups filed amended forms claiming Tom Datwyler, who has served as treasurer for many GOP candidates, was now the treasurer.
But a lawyer for Datwyler said he had not agreed to serve in the role.
The FEC then asked Santos’ campaign to clarify the situation. Tuesday’s filing was the first to name Olson as the treasurer. The report also included a note saying it was “filed based on the limited information provided to the campaign from the previous treasurer Nancy Marks.”

There would be some kind of paper trail to confirm these costs - if they are real. No one pays Uber in cash. There would be credit card statements to back up the claims. No one buys airline tickets or hotels with cash. Also, no one carries around thousands of dollars to pay for meals, parking, etc. There might be the occasional cash expense for parking, etc. but not for $199.99.

On May 22, 1856, Representative Preston Brooks of South Carolina entered the Senate Chamber and repeatedly struck Senator Charles Sumner of Massachusetts over the head with a cane.
Sumner had given a speech critical of slavery.
At least George hasn't done that. Yet.

"implausible to the point of being essentially impossible" says it all. We're talking the recent past, receipts from the retail outlets should confirm his claims yet still render concern. I'm an always tipper at my favorite sushi bar but $199.99 and twice in one day is either some kind of service or some kind of arrangement for sure.

pretty simple what he was doing. If the bill was over 200 , he would split the bill, charging 199 to the campaign then covering the rest some other way. Is that legal? It might actually be if he is allowed to get hotel rooms and food with campaign funds.
