- Done in a joint effort between Disney and Woodstock Children's Summer Theater this production of The Lion King was a blast to work on and is signature of the kind of work that the town's theater program has annually achieved.
And no, folks, it is of course NOT a Broadway show; obviously.
However,
-- it IS the show OFF of Broadway, the same one which WOULD be seen there all the same, only as community theater. Nobody could attempt to make a video like this if it actually WAS a Broadway show. The video would have been taken down as soon as it was uploaded.
I do not own The Lion King and it is the Property of the Disney Corporation. All works apply to their original owners.

I don't know why people are criticizing this. I think everyone involved did the good job. My school did The Lion King Jr. and I wanted to audition but I backed out because I was scared, it was one of the biggest things I regret. But anyhow, very great performance everyone!

@Ashley Lehman I auditioned and got rafiki. I left the stage 5 minutes at the most by the end of the show. You wouldn't believe how bad I was sweating under the stage lights, long sleeves and pants. And a collar that draped up on my neck down to my shoulders.

I've made it a point to include the bloopers for these shows. Certainly check out the James and the Giant Peach show that we did last year. Not as many bloopers, but just as good. Glad you like this production.

my school did it but only the 8th graders and the guy who played scar sounded just like the real scar people had to look at his mouth to see if it was recording

the lion king has always been the first musical i wanted to be a part of, but i decided to stay after school to do homework instead of audition
biggest mistake of my life, i got no work done in 3 hours and the part of young simba (i would've done since i had a high voice), went to a girl that literally had a poker face the entire thing.
Omg i just got told that this was on RUclips and I was sooooo excited because this was my favorite role to play. I was young Nala. It was so fun!!!

This performance of the lion king is incredible. The cast was amazing, the set was legendary and the music was unbelievable . One of my favourites versions.
I did the lion king at my school. I actually just had my last show. 😔 But I was so glad to perform a play. Good job! ( I played a lioness )

I like the older Nalla, Scar, The older simba, Sazu and Especially RAFIKI. I can tell they can join broadway when they are adults. This production is cool. Sorry for criticising because Im a theatre actor in the philippines. Well Congrats guys! Your prod is so cool. The lion king broadway should see this!!

He wanted us to know the songs and listen to the soundtrack so we would Be Prepared (hah theater puns...) Anyways yeah, not everyone did so we had to learn some songs from scratch :P

This is the second time I've watched this play and I can't get over Rafiki's voice it gives me goose bumps... I mainly watched this to see pumbaa, we are doing this at our school and the guy playing pumbaa got sick so they gave it to me so I have to learn it fast. LOVE IT

The hours these kids must have put into this paid off this is incredible for it to be kids
For about 4 weeks we spent 3 hours from Monday-Friday and then for a week we spend 5 hours for a few days then do our live performance. This year was Jame and the Giant Peach Jr. Should be up soon on this channel

I'm playing the role of a lioness and an ensemble in my Lion King Jr. This honestly wasn't the best Lion King Jr I've seen so far, but it was pretty awesome.

I hope I can get the opportunity to watch the actual broadway show some day, but until then this is the closest thing I've seen so far, and it's adorable! Did miss some of the songs (I have the CD and love to listen to it) but I guess they where cut for time, probably along with dialogs I don't know about as well ;)

Thank you very much. You guessed right on time especially since a Broadway show is possible with an adult staff but when you have kids that are mostly K-8 you can imagine how it's an entirely different ball-game.

+J Millward If it's good productions that you're looking for then try and find der glochner. It's the german run of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Somebody actually managed to record the entire thing themselves. I only wish the shots could have been more crisp, but it's a delight to hear. Bear in mind, it is in German, but if you're a fan of the original movie then it should be familiar territory for you.
