Please note: PASSION FLOWER is a *depressant*. I was getting suicidal and thankfully realized it was the Passion Flower that I was drinking nightly. It DID help me to sleep, but the negative emotional side effects were awful. There should be a warning on all Passion Flower products. My experience, my opinion.
So is valerian. I had a similar depressive reaction to Valerian.
Passion flower is a MAO inhibitor, it increases levels of serotonine, dopamine, adrenaline in the brain. No idea why people think it helps with sleep, it decreases rem sleep in studies. Maybe it could help if you have low serotonine/dopamine levels, but if you're a healthy individual, it will just put your neurochemistry out of whack.
I had anxiety depression. I do Rsistance Training, Cardio exercises and lots of Laugtger. I Pray and read Bible.

P5P (vitamin B6) in small doses has really helped me sleep deeper and wake up feeling refreshed. It also helps me dream, or at least remember my dreams.
I take magnesium every night. Sometimes I add B1. Sometimes tryptophan and velvet bean.
I use a CPAP machine, blinders, mouth guard, & sleep music....My sleep stack is: L-Tryptophan, Vitamin K-2/mk7, Magnesium Orotate, Fish Oil, L-Theanine, Glycine, & DHEA

Hi, Dr. Sung, I found out that I have insomnia from histamine intolerance and probably oxalate, too. I took antibiotics that killed my DAO enzyme function. Following a strict diet works. How can I improve the DAO enzyme? Can you suggest supplements that I can order? Thank you!
