And welcome back to yet another Mortal Kombat 1 video!
With more story DLC clearly on the way from the titan havik stinger, It also began to make me wonder and question why particular legacy characters like Kitana and Smoke, didn’t actually get their own chapter despite their overwhelming popularity… and then It clicked, those chapters may be purposely being held off for a future expansion, having been set up softly through the arcade ladder endings.
Of course now it raises the question as to why Is Rain so important here?
Well truth be told to that of the overall narrative, he very well might not be In the long run, but with the catalyst he could possibly serve to that of the story expansion, i do believe that It sets him up In such a way that Rain, could receive a redemption arc of sorts to his character, but how could this all unfold?

I really hope so. Rain needs to not be evil every timeline
I always liked Rain aside from Smoke Reptile and others, and this game finally gives rain his deserved redemption! I don't mind if he does go back to kinda bad, if not I would embrace his good guy arc ! 👍🏾
No matter what happens, Rain is long over due for something big.
I always felt like they wrote themselves into a wall with him. He always had so much potential as a character and they just wouldn't let it happen.
I'm ready for Rain's moment.
He has potential of being a big boss.
@thegreatbocaj Agreed. I always felt like he could be a very threatening boss or a super strong ally like Fugin.
Considering his abilities and his control over an entire water dimension, he should be taken a lot more seriously.
I can see Seido surviving the Flood with the Pyramids floating in the Sky that would fit the Original Orderrealm when in the Ruins like Dairou changing his Name into Havik he would create Chaosrealm although I can’t tell if the Green Sky would happen, anyway let’s Talk about Rain in MK1, while his Lore Changes didn’t disappointed me like Tanya and it makes sense that Liu Kang ripping his Godhood away was a Clever Choice so he could feel Empathy in Others that will Redeem Himself, although he has his Ambitionous Nature I don’t know how to feel about removing his Demigod Status, God Complex, and Arrogant Nature as those are what made his Character a Beloved Fan Favorite, Rain in Lore is the Franchise’s Definition of Evil Selfishness and has the Potential to be a Great Villain however I’m Mix with this Character.
I want to know Rain's relationship with Kitana who asked Mileena to show mercy to Rain.
That can be explored in the dlc aftermath. Their dialogs is kinda making me think.
Either Kitana has a close relationship, either romantic, platonic or even like brother to her, since Sindel thought of him as her own son.
I noticed that too. While she's obviously upset, Kitana isn't really talking down to Rain. She has also implied she still cares for Rain versus Mileena and Sindel who said he's dead to them and wants his head. It's clear they have actually met and talked as Kitana has warned him against entering Outworld as he's not safe, and Rain has talked to her about making amends and sharing why he chose the choice he made. Even though she doesn't understand why, she did at least hear him out. He must have been convincing as she went to Mileena saying Rain deserves mercy. This is even after he told her to stop looking for him because he can't guarantee her safety and her sharing the same sentiment. This tells that they don't want to hurt each other but they will if they have to. Their dialogue to each other definitely makes it seem they were close at one point... But due to Rain's choices, they're now on opposing sides.
If Rain's mother dies, his grief would probably push him into self sacrifice, and may even unlock Demi Godhood in the process.
I’m tired of Rain being portrayed as a villain. I was hoping this new timeline would mention that him and Kitana were once in a relationship like in the 90s media.
Here's hoping for his DLC redemption arc.

If you think about it, as well as MK1, every MK11 ladder ending is canon. Since we see not only Liu Kang & Titan Shang Tsung but also Titan Kitana, Raider, & Kung Lao. Because of this is it not safe to assume that barring I think Erron Black & Jacqui Briggs, every character lived on to create a new era with them as it’s Creator?
Well, it would be great if Rain plays a more important role in the DLC and in upcoming games - he really is one of the best MK characters ever and just plays great in MK1!
I hope they do develop him more in the story BC he has been pushed aside so many times before. It was a surprise to me that out of all the characters in the game Rain was the one I ended up picking up the fastest .
I really hope Countess Jade makes an appearance in future story expansions. MK1 is the perfect game for her.

Jade is already confirmed to be a dlc character, her actor began working on her recently
I just hope she doesn't fill Tanya's treacherous role in this timeline, since Tanya is the loyal one this time around.
Your theory makes a lot of sense! I found it odd that both ending of havik and rain were related. These are strangely my 2 mains haha. And since havik is the new villain, and we see rain in his ending. I dont think its a coincidence!
I love how everyone isn't necessarily good or evil. This adds some personality traits to characters. Certain characters just have their own personal motives on why they may do things differently from others.
Ok so that explains why Rain is less of a blowhard. Liu humbled him out. If they give him a chapter I want to see him make things right by proving he can change.

I held off on looking into the leaks of the SL. But a Rain redemption arc could be cool
To bad we never got to see the OG Havik but seeing Dairou as the new Havik is very interesting.

Argus and Delia do exist in The New Era Timeline that’s for sure but Taven and Deagon in the new era timeline would be great. But I most definitely can’t wait to see Onaga in the new era timeline.
The people of Saido would definitely be at war with Edenia due to Rain's actions.
I don't know how they'll connect everything:
Shang Tsung's island may hold a Mortal Kombat tournament to gather souls.
Shao Kahn's army may get Onaga's power/help.
Titan Havik and his people may come to cause destruction on Fire God Liu Kang's timeline.
Sonya's Special Forces and Kano's Black Dragon may join this fight. Especially since Johnny was tasked to spread the truth about the realms.
Since Takeda is a DLC, (this is speculation) he may be from the previous timeline and was sent and was trapped from his companions Kung Jin and his father Kenshi when they were in they're own mission.
Quan Chi hasn't revealed his next plan.
Don"t know if Shinnok and Cetrion even exist with out Kronika.
The intros hint about Raiden's sister, who could this timelin's Fujin.
I hope Erron Black joins the roster and has better solo story arc.
Hope Rain won't die and I hope will become Pure Good, I would also wanna see Sinfel teaming with Shao Kahn, Evil Ermac, Evil Reptile, Evil Mileena and Evil Tanya, hoping that Kotal will be back and Kabal as a Near Pure Good Hero, hopefully both Rain and Kotal will both team up against Ermac and Reptile for their betrayal, hopefully Kotal Kahn can be Pure Good too.

Liu Kang really change Rain history so that he's not a god.
I know right he changed Rain from being God to being a mortal. Dairou taking the role of Havik is quite a twist plus Darrius still looks the same as usual but however Hotaru is most likely going to come back in the future of MK games.
I think this is the most interesting version of Rain so far. Him genuinely being remorseful for his evil actions makes him a more complex character
And i can definitely see Havik and Sub zero being the main antagonists for the dlc expansion. Id prefer them over Onaga honestly

I can deal with tian havok been the big bad of a DLC but Onaga is my favorite for MK 2.
Jax already had 3 redemption stories in the NRS era. It's time for guys like Rain to receive one!
I don't think Netherrealm studios plans that far ahead with their individual characters. This MK1 story was ok, then I checked out during the Armageddon part. Really looking forward to the DLC expansion. HBW's Rain arc does have merit, but I don't think Rain is a character to go forward in a sequel, as he is too selfish of a character. He hasn't had the the written gumption, I see him being exiled at least, and coming back later on; or possibly partnering up with Tremor in this timeline. I hope they kind of replace him with/ or convert him to Cyborg Hydro in the next game and we get playable Sezktor and Cyrax.
Havik will be a horseman of Onaga's Apocalypse

Random thought wouldn't there be a reality/timeline where kronica beat liu Kang and shang sung and remained the titan of her reality?
Garrus said when Kronika was defeated, it created multiple timelines. I forgot the rest, but I'm pretty sure the writers would create more loopholes again.
