Decorating really is a snapshot of our life. I can see the grief, but not debilitating grief, but the fight to embrace the loss and overcome the place where we could get stuck. There is lots of hope and pressing on in this design. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. I'm so sorry for your losses.

I lost my Dad Sept. 2019 (cancer/he was only 67 yrs old) and my baby brother 8 mos. later (suicide/he was only 27 yrs. old) so I empathize. (My Mom died of cancer when she was only 37; I was 17) It is *inspiring* to see how you've turned your apartment into a cozy home. I adore your taste in furnishings, art, & even pillowcases😁💞

What a great story and subsequent home. I just lost both my parents in the last 17 months and I’m finding comfort from working some of their possessions into my home. I also am huge into lots of color. More is better in my view. This is a lovely home for her to rest and grieve in. My best to her

I'm nearly speechless. I luv that she gave real accounts of joyous moments in time and how connected she feels to her surroundings. You can see she is a good person with a lot of empathy and that she probably felt pain when telling about her father and friend. She did an amazing job with her apartment. I love how she used the colors and her bravery with what she did in the kitchen. I wish her the best and hopefully she will one day have a bigger place (if that is what she wants) where she can let her creative design talent shine even more.

Thanks for sharing this Christine. I randomly clicked it, only to find that we've been walking a similar path. We're lost in grief too, and finding solace in working the land, planting and in the prospect of building a new home. You sound a bit like the young adult version of our daughter. She also has to keep going without the physical presence of her dad. Wishing you love and hope.
