*Okayyyy… let me know all your thoughts?! Love it, hate it… would you have done something differently? I’ll pass along any ideas or thoughts to my Mom, as she finishes preparing this cozy studio apartment for an Airbnb! Love yall!!*
Amanda, you all did an amazing job and accomplished SOOOO much in a VERY short amount of time! 😅 The entire place is completely transformed and feels like a cozy little cottage. It’s beautiful. I literally squealed when I saw that flower shop picture because I just got one a few weeks ago-completely outside my comfort zone, but just so cozy and and so beautiful, so that was a my favorite item! The bathroom had the best glow up, and that faucet in there looks like an old telephone! 😍 Some things I would add when the budget allows are some Floor Pops for the bathroom floor, a hangin plant to the right of the mirror, and a trinket dish for like watches, eyeglasses, jewelry, etc., and maybe a scooper for the ground coffee. Congratulations on another job well done! Thanks for the content and inspiration. 😊 p.s the English chestnut stain has become a new favorite in my house, so stunning on a variety of woods!
OMG Amanda! You and Jacob absolutely smashed it 😍 You encompassed everything you need in a small studio apartment and then some. The separation for the areas worked amazingly well and it doesn’t look cramped despite the small space. I would be more then happy to stay there, it would be fab if your Mum could send you some pictures or video from after she’s finished adding her final touches ❤❤❤
Great job, Amanda, to you, your brother, and Mother. When your brother hung that towel in the kitchen. I thought how cute it would have been to see one of your own kitchen towels(new spring designs) hanging there. It's great marketing and fantabulous decor. The apt turned out wonderful.
One of my favorite things: that you speak in a Normal cadence instead of that crazy social media voice everyone adopts. Your natural voice is soothing and great job btw!
Good point. I sometimes turn off the sound and just look at the "tour" of rooms rather than hear that annoying voice over. But, this one was great and conversational.
Having recently returned from a trip where we stayed in a couple of air bnbs, one host had small square power “strips” on each bedside table. Each square had a couple of plugs and a couple usb ports so it was super easy to plug in our electronics to charge overnight. Little touches like that make all the difference in customer satisfaction.
As a designer, I was impressed how you made the entire space feel much bigger than it is. Defining zones really accomplished that! It's much more user-friendly too. Great job!
I am amazed how you were able to make outdated cabinets look new just with paint and hardware. I have 1950’s style cabinets which are not very high on the uppers and not very deep and are high underneath and deep but still don’t offer very many options. The cabinets seem to be flush into the wall. It was like that when a family member purchased the house on the 1970’s nothing has been updated and needs a refresh but I don’t know the right paints that won’t peel over top of the old paint (the paint is chipped) how do I make sure I’m getting the right paint? I loved everything you did in this space! Love to see more (I liked the tiles in the bathroom, the oval pink rug and the hooks in rooms) and i love how you transformed a silver lamp into gold beautiful touch! The black was subtle and not heavy! Loved the makeover!
I agree, it also makes the bedroom feel cosier. Additionally, it could help block off any noises at night, like the refrigerator or people in the stairwell (if there are other appartments)
Just out of curiosity, why would you need to close yourself off in a space that is 8 ft wide? This is a one person/couple AirBnb situation. I mean if the sight of your husband making coffee is going to disturb you, you’re probably going to need some earplugs and a sleep mask too.
I had the thought of a pair of gauzy curtains too to be swagged back for esthetic reasons, not necessarily practical reasons...romantic and cozy.. l love this little apt...
😂 Yes! That’s what I thought, too. A lot of intentional style in an awkward space. Reminds me of bathrooms in the UK, where they often have no showers as well. Way more convenient than using a pitcher, which I had to do a couple of times!
I love those “extra touches” in short term rentals! Extra thought goes a long way, feels inviting, like you’re wanted there, and makes it feels like home.
I love it! So sweet and cozy. Light and airy, too. I would pull that bed out those few inches and use the full length curtains. It adds so much ambiance with the filtered light it provides. (Plus those cheap shades need to go!) You could also add a multi-functional, circular, padded ottoman between the two chairs to add a useable surface for foot propping, extra seat, playing board games, and even as an extra surface for dining (if it has a reversible hard surface to use as additional table space. Or use a large, flat circular tray for mealtime.)
Such a beautiful room and place to stay. Great vision for a small awkward space! The only thing I would add is some hangers for dress clothes, in the "closet " area.
That Shelf is so cute and useful but it's hung on the Wall with only 2 Screws. Because it is placed right next to a Door, (which by the way looks very nice in this Room)...that's going to be opened and closed hundreds of times, i'm worried that the Screws might eventually come Loose from the vibration* of the Wall and some Stuff hanging from it's Rod. There's a high possibility that the heavy wooden Shelf could fall down and hurt Someone sitting on the cute Bench below. Maybe adding a few white painted Small L- Brackets on the Top of the Shelf might add some Extra Stability and 'peace of mind' without changing the overall Look of the Piece.😊 Btw. I enjoyed your Video very much, Everything in the Room looks so beautiful.👍🏼👍🏼 * like some visible Drywall-Screws near frequently used Doors.
This studio apartment makeover was my favorite of all 3 spaces. You and your brother work really well together and focused on helping your mom to create 3 income producing properties that will allow your mom to have her independence, but still tie your family together. I wish kids saw the importance of supporting their parents and helping them to find creative ways to keep income coming in. I would add either curtains that didn't necessarily close off the bedroom, but would add definition or if possible some type of door with glass inserts that could have window film in them for privacy and still let the light in. I would move the basket under the desk into the bathroom or find a different container to show guests that the "in case they forgot something" supplies were available. I think there could be a way to add some storage under the bathroom sink that might be helpful. I love how you showed how you painted the kitchen cabinets with Beyond Paint and you explained you don't have to sand or do a lot other than clean the cabinets before using the paint. This really helped me understand I can do the same thing. Your brother Jacob needs his own RUclips channel. He is very talented. Well done.❤
Amanda, the studio turned out better than I could have imagined. You and your Brother killed it. It actually appears bigger than the empty tour. Everything seems fit to size and feels like a home not just an airbnb. I love this one the best. Tell your Mom I wish her all the success running the Airbnb. Her guests will want to repeat their stay 👏🏼👍🏼🫶🏼🏡
I really love how it turned out. It feels cozy. You do a great job with a tiny budget. The only things I would change would be take the basket out from under the desk and put it under the bathroom sink and tuck 2 little stools under the desk and it becomes multifunctional....a desk and eating space. I would also switch the garbage can under the bathroom sink for something more aesthetic. However they are minor things. I enjoy watching your makeovers
Nice! The curtains would look nicer hung with black curtain rings and would hang to the floor like they should and complete that floor to ceiling length. I would also push the microwave over in front of the outlet to cover the cords or better yet install an outlet inside a cabinet and move the microwave there. You have a lot of storage! Probably more than a short term renter would need but nice to provide! Love that tub faucet!
I would nail the microwave down, place a plastic shower curtain liner behind the beautiful shower curtain and cover the mattresses. Also nail down the lamps cause people steal from Airbnb’s
Excellent work. You are so blessed having your family members working with you. Sure pleases me to see a younger person repurposing rather than buying new stuff. So good on you and yours.✌️🐣💕
plug the microwave into the outlet that is closest, so you don't have to look at the ugly cord. Let each of the appliances have their own outlet. The cords look ugly. Hide them with other items on the counter if need be. Change out the dingy yellowed outlet covers with new white ones. Hang a floating shelf above the desk. A floor lamp for extra lighting. Overall, the studio apartment looks really nice. great job!
A mirror above the desk would be handy for makeup if the bathroom is being occupied and some cute wooden hangers just in case guest need to hang something! You hit the nail on the head otherwise!!! Beautiful Job!!!
He did not center the new bathroom sink.... so elbows and water will be hitting the wall. Ideally, he took the time to replace the sink, he sould have centered it, so it is not ergonomic awkward with the wall.
@@cathycoryell2351 you can’t stand in front of the sink if it’s centered because the bathroom is so small and you would have to lean over the toilet - so this gives a sink and counter space to the side. The previous sink was a corner mount sink. With more space, we could of course do a lot more, but it turned out pretty great for what we had 💗
Yes, he is skilled and i wish we could pay to have a thousand like him taking on young apprentices all over the country!! His skills are certainly getting more rare to come by.
This is the sweetest little studio airbnb! I'd love to stay there if ever I were in that area. You and your brother did a marvelous job updating and refurbishing it. Hope that your mom gets many visitors.
I don’t know why I am so amazed…you always do a terrific job!! That entry way space you made was genius…and so functional!! Everything looks so warm and cozy!!🥰
Love it that you and your brother were able to transfer the entire place into something so cozy yet functional. Love the little details and touches you added...simply lovely, great job!
I agree you need a mattress cover!! Very important with a AirBnB, more sanitary. The space you did looks fabulous!! Such an excellent job. Lots of hard work! You also need a shower curtain liner since that is not a waterproof type shower curtain, and most pretty ones do need a liner that will fit into the tub upon showering. Add two tiny chairs to the desk area, more likely to be used to eat at versus the little table. Also I agree with previous commenter that a nicer bathroom trash can would help decorate that room!! It looks wonderful as it is though, for sure.
You've truly turned this apartment into a cozy haven. Love how you've optimized the space without sacrificing style. It's inspiring to see what can be achieved with a bit of creativity and resourcefulness. 🥰
You and your brother did such a wonderful job! You folks managed to make a tiny studio apartment look homey, warm and cozy. Thank you for sharing the process on RUclips and inspiring viewers. You gave me some nice ideas for my own place (for my own personal use, I don't have an airbnb.) All the best to you.
It's a beautiful renovation! I would suggest to put an easy to clean shower stool into the bathtub. Because you can't really stand up if you want to shower the other option would be kneeling down and that might not be very comfortable for some people
Put a flexible shower head in that bath. I would also Put the little seat in there, one that can be in or out. Those are just nice to have. I recently had a knee replacement and I drill never ever give up my little bench! So relaxing to sit under a warm shower. Excuse me, I think it may be shower time😊
Absolutely gorgeous. What love you put into this endeavor. We stayed in an airbnb last week in Scottsdale and it was a complete dump. Pictures lied and the house was actually filthy. You are lovely people.
I don't know how I got here but I was just chilling watching youtube and found you. I was prepared for a cute little makeover but then you said Montana and I perked up. I grew up there and lived there until I was nearly 30. Can't wait to see more!
Very stylish redesign. I have to say, I was so happy to see that you replaced the switch plates in the kitchen. I was nearing the end of the video and kept thinking “they’re not keeping those ugly, discolored plates on, are they?” Was relieved when the after pictures showed them gone.😅
Whenever I watch any of the renivation or small space transformation on a budget videos. I remain astonished and out of words to see u people working so hard and efficiently tirelessly round the clock. I pay solute to u and all the family members including children who are mostly supportive and understanding. May Allah keep u all blessed and shower His bounties upon u day and night as u deserve it. I end up with loads and loads of love 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Makeover. This is my kind of DIY Small Space Makeover. Oh, That tub faucet is genius, it kinda looks like a phone receiver. It is sooo cute. TFS
At first, I cringed at painting the kitchen cabinets (I loved the wood.) But the white opens up the whole apartment nicely. Well done. Beautiful makeover.😊
This reminds me of my 1st studio apt. when I moved out of my parents house (55 years ago). I loved that place and thrived there! You have done a marvelous job on all the apt. in very little time. I would be proud and pleased to stay in any one of them! JACOB, YOU SCARED ME TOO WITH THE WINDOW TRICK!!
To be honest, I like the changes in this house, including the appliances here. Do you know what I'm most impressed with? That's the mark you made on the toilet paper roll. It's interesting. It proves that you're a very meticulous person down to the smallest thing. Great!
So beautiful! What a transformation! A few things I would add are: a few more pillows to make the bed extra “fluffy” and to match the idea that the unit fits 2 people, a small soft rug in the sitting area to make it extra inviting and cozy - maybe even a semi-circle rug pushed up against the wall in that sitting area 🥰
Stack bed pillows in white cases two high for a total of four. One decor pillow in front can lean against the flat bed pillows in their white cases. People are crazy.
You might switch out the curtains for drapes that don’t let light through. That will increase the effectiveness of the illusion of room height. Right now it just looks like curtains hanging above the short windows. You need to clean the paint off of the outlet covers 😉 I love that your family works together ♥️
Absolutely 100% good call on adding the full lengh mirror in the bedroom. I also love the idea of changing out a closet door with a mirrored door... As it reflects light and still a good budget friendly option that modernizes and elevates a space. My opinion
I have never and will never eat or drink in bed. Food in your bed. Gross! That is why there is a kitchen. (Strictly my opinion). Over night pee?! 😮 never done that thank goodness
Wow. Clicked on this and couldn’t take my eyes off of your transformation. Beautifully done. You are both talented , resourceful and creative. A very functional and warm space. Toronto, Canada.
Very nice. You can always add some drawers in wheels for under the bed. The hanger at the door will cover the light switch when there are coats hanging there. The cabinets are fab! I love the black faucets and accents. You could always paint the bathroom floor a grey with tile paint to tie in mor with the colour scheme. ❤
Wow you have a really cozy comfortable apartment! You have a good eye. You fit that bed and the nightstands in there. You did a really nice job. Such a nice little income producer.
What a lovely, budget-friendly transformation. I’m sure that guests who rent the BnB will absolutely love staying here. It’s way nicer than a typical chain hotel. Well done!
My favorite thing was the faucet in the bath. What I didn't like much was the pillow covering on the bead Overall, it was absolutely gorgeous! What an amazing job my fellow Arizonian!
Beautiful. So cosy and welcoming. My (small) changes would be to paint all the mirror frames gold and also the handles on bedside lockers gold. I would also have ordered gold/brass handles for kitchen presses. Last thing I would do is move the beautiful mat under the two gorgegeous armchairs and the stunning coffee table so it defines the lounge/sitting area and give a smoother free flowing space from the entry and from the bedroom.❤
Beautiful! You did an excellent job creating a warm cozy home away from home. I love the bedroom. Lots of windows to make the space seem big and to have a view.
I love that it is not cluttered or overly furnished. You kept light, airy, and calm. Just perfect!!! So beautiful and inviting. The floating shelves really enhanced the seating area. Well done you two👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nice apartment now. Nice looking brother. It wouldn’t hurt our feelings at all if we could see more him lol. You are so blessed your apartment is so beautiful and so well done. Thank you for the tour.
Beautiful, cozy reno for an AirBnB! If your potential short-term renters are traveling for work or are students, you may want to add a few items: 1) a powerstrip at the desk with USB chargeports, 2) switch out a few strategic outlets to the type with USB chargeports (I didn't catch if there were any convenient to the "sitting area" or the bedside tables), 2) for such a tiny bathroom with minimal counterspace, some travelers use a hanging toiletries bag; add an extra wall hook somewhere to accommodate that, 3) since you're in Montana, consider a bootmat under the shoe storage bin to protect the floor from snowy footgear.
I really love it! The one thing I'd add is a little dining table of some sort, perhaps one that folds up, along with some folding chairs. The things can be stored when not needed.
Nice job. The apartment is light and airy with just the right touches to give a homey feel. It’s heartwarming to see a family working together for the greater good.
So frigging beautiful....yes to mattress cover...yes to a little chair or stool under desk...yes to micro in cabinet...all great ideas...oh and a small storage are in bathroom for plunger..toilet brush...etc. ....great ideas...great apartment b&b....just perfect!!!)and a separation between bedroom and kitchen...glass door or slider pocket door...❤❤❤
It truly is a cool car! Just right for a very cool family. For being 37 yo., it’s in excellent shape! You guys are going to have so much fun with it! And who says you’re not rich & important? As always, thanks for sharing! 😊❤
This is incredible that you did this for your mother. It looks really inviting! The one suggestion I have is to use rings and clips for your curtains. It elevates the style and its inexpensive. It will also lengthen your curtains to a more elegant length without touching the floor.
Amanda, I am blown away by your talents! You always pick the perfect things for the spaces you transform, it always turns out so cozy, warm and beautiful! You have a gift. Jacob, you do great work too!

amazing how painting the kitchen cupboards make such a huge difference. Place looks great.
Looks great, lots of nice upgrades. Maybe one of those curtains in the bedroom for some privacy, going across into the living room.
You accomplished everything you intended to. It’s wonderfully cohesive and sooo inviting. It’s a lovely little sanctuary.👍
You out did yourself on this one Amanda. Great job. You have such a vision.
You've truly turned this apartment into a cozy haven. Love how you've optimized the space without sacrificing style. It's inspiring to see what can be achieved with a bit of creativity and resourcefulness. 🥰
Both of you created a very beautiful and calm place!! Picture frame in bedroom elevated the whole space. Both of you did a fantastic job!!
You and your bother are quite the team! The studio looks fabulous, and anyone staying there will feel as if they were staying in a nice hotel.
I love it! I would add a (maybe semi-transparent) curtain where the bedroom is so you don’t have to look into the entry and kitchen from the bed…
Excuse me, I think it may be shower time😊
Great idea!!
Absolutely gorgeous. What love you put into this endeavor. We stayed in an airbnb last week in Scottsdale and it was a complete dump. Pictures lied and the house was actually filthy. You are lovely people.
Phenomenal job! You never cease to amaze me! Jacob is very talented, and extremely funny! 😂
Haha he keeps me on my toes 😂
Wow! I’m impressed. I think y’all did a great job with the space, time and creative solutions. Such a cool transformation.
I don't know how I got here but I was just chilling watching youtube and found you. I was prepared for a cute little makeover but then you said Montana and I perked up. I grew up there and lived there until I was nearly 30. Can't wait to see more!
Ahh! Omgsh so happy you found me! 🥹 I hope the makeover we did doesn’t disappoint 🤗
You can sense their joy as they do all tasks needed for the transformation. 🧡
Beautiful job, I would add a mattress protector and a shower curtain liner.
I love how this place finished. Sooo cozy. Awesome to see family working together❤❤❤😊😊😊
Very stylish redesign. I have to say, I was so happy to see that you replaced the switch plates in the kitchen. I was nearing the end of the video and kept thinking “they’re not keeping those ugly, discolored plates on, are they?” Was relieved when the after pictures showed them gone.😅
I noticed those, too, and was glad to see that they had been replaced in the final reveal.
I clicked SO FAST when I got the notification, you do such great makeovers Amanda!❤❤❤
Thanks girl!! I love doing these so much!! Let me know what you think! And happy Monday!! ☀️
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Makeover. This is my kind of DIY Small Space Makeover. Oh, That tub faucet is genius, it kinda looks like a phone receiver. It is sooo cute. TFS
Y'all did such a beautiful job with the apartments. Clearly comfort was paramount...no expenses were spared...lovely!
Perfectly Lovely!!! Well done!!! The bathroom was a challenge, but u knocked it out of the park!!! It's a homerun!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
Great!
I like that too!
You and your brother are really miracle workers. Love everything you did to the apartment.❤
Spot on !!! Very hood use of the space!! Fresh and bright looking ❤
You might switch out the curtains for drapes that don’t let light through. That will increase the effectiveness of the illusion of room height. Right now it just looks like curtains hanging above the short windows.
You need to clean the paint off of the outlet covers 😉
I love that your family works together ♥️
Absolutely 100% good call on adding the full lengh mirror in the bedroom. I also love the idea of changing out a closet door with a mirrored door... As it reflects light and still a good budget friendly option that modernizes and elevates a space. My opinion
Why would you not put a waterproof mattress cover over that new mattress?? One dump of coffee or an over night pee or……..disaster! Save your mattress!
Thank you for this.way more important than pretty decor.
How do you know she didn’t? Maybe she just didn’t video that part 🤔
There is actually a really good mattress protector on it - I think we just didn’t film that part, but for sure protecting it 🤗
I removed mine because it was so hot.
I have never and will never eat or drink in bed. Food in your bed. Gross! That is why there is a kitchen. (Strictly my opinion). Over night pee?! 😮 never done that thank goodness
Wow. Clicked on this and couldn’t take my eyes off of your transformation. Beautifully done. You are both talented , resourceful and creative. A very functional and warm space. Toronto, Canada.
Love it! Your brother's handiwork is priceless for the makeover!
Love it! My favorite things are the sink & tub fixtures, the large picture on the bedroom wall and how everything tied in together! Beautiful!
Very nice. You can always add some drawers in wheels for under the bed. The hanger at the door will cover the light switch when there are coats hanging there. The cabinets are fab! I love the black faucets and accents. You could always paint the bathroom floor a grey with tile paint to tie in mor with the colour scheme. ❤
It’s really beautiful!! I absolutely cannot believe how great it turned out!!!
Looks great! Nice that your brother is so handy and willing to help you! 🎉😊
Wow you have a really cozy comfortable apartment! You have a good eye. You fit that bed and the nightstands in there. You did a really nice job. Such a nice little income producer.
You did a great job overall but my favorite is the painted kitchen cabinets. They make the space very calm. Great job guys. ❤
Absolutely lovely. Only thing didn’t look like much storage for guests things and clothes but if only staying overnight it would be fine.
What a lovely, budget-friendly transformation. I’m sure that guests who rent the BnB will absolutely love staying here. It’s way nicer than a typical chain hotel. Well done!
My favorite thing was the faucet in the bath. What I didn't like much was the pillow covering on the bead
Overall, it was absolutely gorgeous! What an amazing job my fellow Arizonian!
WATCHED 5/11/2024 FIRST TIME HERE, EVERYONE INVOLVED DID THEIR THING . I TRULY ENJOYED WATCHING AND THE APARTMENT IS ON POINT. GOD BLESS !
Aww thank you! I’m so happy you enjoyed all we did!! Welcome to the family!!
Actually i'm blown away by how cute the whole place looks !
Beautiful is all I can say you and your brother did a great job can't forget your mom great job all you guys
The really best designers do the small spaces because it's challenging and you must be creative.
Love the neutral colors, designated spaces, and long curtains. The entire makeover is fabulous!
I love the different shaped walls & ceiling! So much character & charm!
What a great job!!! Love how budget friendly it is without giving up on the design touches🎉🎉🎉🎉
You and your brother did a fantastic job on this makeover. Tue apartment looks spacious and comfortable. It's really beautiful.
Oh totally agree! I’ve used clips in my recent projects and love them! Thanks for the tip!
Amanda, I am blown away by your talents! You always pick the perfect things for the spaces you transform, it always turns out so cozy, warm and beautiful! You have a gift. Jacob, you do great work too!
Amazing, Amanda … it looks incredible and you did so much in such a tiny space and on a small budget.
Beautiful! Great work! Your step-by-step instructions are so helpful for anyone who wants to take on one of these projects.
