I think this card was absolutely great and really underrated. Sylus view on winning and losing is really mature to see. It is lovely how he is not afraid to show MC. More importantly though I feel like this is a big card for MC. She has grown, watching her going from the girl that insulted Sylus, tried to escape him, to his girlfriend who is disliking any posts that talks bad about him. I think she is so cute in this card. I love watching her grow closer to him, seeing her so worried and protective. She brings him the charm and the flowers. A lot thought seemed to go into those choices, absolutely beautiful. She is studying up on boxing. We have seen him do so much for her that this card feels like payoff seeing MC return the favor. I don't always feel like MC gets enough appreciation but to me it is both sides of the relationship both Sylus and MC that makes me love it so much. Sylus deserved those flowers, I'm happy for him
I liked this card, but it was underwhelming compared to Grassland Romance for me. I love the fighting theme bc it's one of Sylus' favourite hobbies and it gives protective Sylus vibes, but the only really super important thing in this card was the fake proposal and head kiss, nothing super important happened other than that 😅 We already knew that Sylus only cares about MC seeing him win from Grassland Romance. There WAS growth from Sylus in this tho from the fact that he admits that "winning isn't that important" bc it seems like old Sylus would have cared more about losing...but losing no longer matters as much, not when MC would have still given him flowers 🥺 Speaking of ruthless Sylus, did you hear about the translation issues with him? I've heard that Chinese Sylus has more duality and his anecdote is scarier than English Sylus 👀 I haven't read through the Reddit post tho. Gacha Goblin did a video on this issue bc of how these English translations change Sylus' characterization.
I think a lot of important things happened, mainly for MC. She is protective of him, supporting him, bringing him flowers. I think this card is more about MC development than his and that is just as important
Very pertinent comment. I didn't hesitate to draw this card because I love Sylus. But I also miss the way he was so bossy and cold when he first came out, and I hope that the future Myth cards will show more of Sylus' past. (translated by CN)
I got this on my first 10 pull this morning. I had started the 10 pull, then went to get coffee when I heard the 5 star sound effect. I thought, "No effing way, it's gotta be another 5 star, the game has cucked me before!" It was the new card 😭I'm never so lucky with my pulls so I was bewildered. Edit: Yeah, I agree. As much as I love soft Sy, I also want to see HIM again. His duality is what attracts me; him being merciless to his enemies but soft for us. It's "enemies to lovers" trope for a reason, lol. I hope Paper Games/Infold goes back to his canon and shows HOW he got from A (cold, ruthless leader) to B (doting on us), you know? Character progression, anyone? o_o Oh, and I'm rasayabelle on Twitch 😅 That was a great stream last night! 🐱
I have a theory on the reason for this card. Although, I love the progression in the romance and how disappointed he looks when we give him our thumb vs. the happiness when we give him our ring finger I think there is more to it. I think , for plot purposes, they needed to show us (MC) that Sylus can lose.
