    I had occasional groin pain as you described. Mine turned out to be my hip. The ball joint grinded into the hip socket which caused it to get stuck when turned a certain way. I felt like passing out the pain was so severe, then as soon as it clicks/moves into place I was absolutely fine. I suggest to go and see an orthopedic surgeon and get it fixed before it gets worse. Please keep us posted.

    When I weave, I use a cardboard box or foam board and put heavy duty pins in it as I go. Weaving is an art form and just go with it. You can adjust sizes after. I typically make my strip 2" longer than I want the substrate to be. The key is , too enjoy the process, it's not quilting lol. Sure, you could put it in a quilt if you wanted to. I am sure whatever you make, will be beautiful.

The Ladies donate all the quilts they make to needy or sick children and this makes me feel really good.

    My sister had similar pain and it was related to sciatica. PT and rest really helped. But please go get checked out. You can decide your own treatment but you need a diagnosis. My 89 year old Mom treats all pain as if it’s controlled in her head and related to stress and emotions. But I tell her I worked darn hard to ignore my emotions (due to life!) and there’s no going back😂. Don’t mean to make light of what works for some, I just think you should rule out anything life threatening and go from there. Thanks for the laughs as always. I adore you two🥰

    Oh Jean, you should probably consider seeing your doctor! I fractured my back in early December and had surgery in early January! I’m still in a considerable amount of pain. Well, I saw my doctor and apparently, I was compensating for the pain and now my hips are out of alignment by several inches. I’m going in Feb 24th for injections to help with the pain. Then, I’ll have to begin PT to try to straighten things out! Sometimes, I feel like if it’s not one thing it’s another! God Bless You. Being in pain is no fun. 🙏🥰

    Hi, Jean! Hope you figure out the groin pain sooner rather than later. When I have pains like that, I get a referral for PT and the PT person helps me get the pain under control with exercises and dry needling. Instead of painkillers, which I can't take due to a blood problem, I take Qunol Turmeric 1500 mg (from that big box store that starts with the letter C). I take 2 per day. It's supposed to "support healthy inflammation response." Of course, check with your doctor about supplements and the PT referral. Take care! A friend from Maryland!

    I’m so sorry about your painful leg! I had a herniated disc in my lower back during the pandemic and it was excruciating! I was sitting in my office chair a lot between doing zoom service and working, I think leaning at a weird angle is what did it. It caused my sciatic nerve to flare up too. I was a mess! I’m really careful about sitting too long in one position, I make sure I walk every day too so it doesn’t flare up again. I hope it works itself out soon and you feel better!!! ❤❤❤

    @lenacoleman1142 День назад +1

    Jean, so sorry for your pain! I had back surgery many years ago (L4-L5 blown disc) and occasionally get a pain in my groin on my right leg. Usually it is because of an inflamed sciatic that is the root cause of this pain. The chair or seat that I sit in irritates my sciatic nerve that then gives me groin pain (either due to the way I sit or the seat is putting pressure on my sciatic). That's not to say that I have learned not to do this, because I still do this and sometimes have pain. (I know you hate to take Ibuprofen, but that is the only way for me to have some relief. I will not take any strong prescription medication. Heating pads or cold ice packs do not work for me at all. (Which is why I believe it is my sciatic and the Ibuprofen does help reduces the inflammation that in turn gets pinched causing pain and irritation to other parts of my body). Not sure if you have had an MRI but that will be one way to see if you do have a pinched nerve or possibly a back issue. Hope you find relief soon!!

  • @tinasmith7699
    @tinasmith7699 17 часов назад

    The Sciatic nerve has a branch that goes down the groin. 3 years ago my best friend/sewing mentor passed away. I could not walk at her funeral. Went to a specialist, 3 out of the 4 branches of the sciatic nerve was inflamed. The ONLY one that wasn’t inflamed was the one that goes down the cheek of your rear end! It took weeks to go away with therapy and exercises. Good luck, it’s very painful.

    My sister is going through this, she’s 70 & about a month ago she suddenly developed intermittent groin pain then hip pain-on Monday our ortho told her that her L hip joint has lost most of its padding & no surprise she has bone spurs in her hip joint-the offending spur is in the now narrowest joint space at the inner bottom of her joint. One way, however not the only to tell if your groin pain is your hip is to “bat wing” your leg and apply light pressure while lifting your foot up if the pain appears or increases then definitely see an ortho doc for an x-ray.
    Praying for you 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

    Not sure if this is the reason for the size difference between the two pieces, but some of the Red Blocks look wider than taller, which may be why you have fewer columns than rows. It also looks like the top row is shorter in length than the bottom row? Not sure that is it, I paused the video and was looking at the images but it could be the camera lens. Cool process I have to give this a try.

    Hi Jean & Ian! Yes, you have the 1st one 8x8 & the 2nd one 8x10, but that doesn't matter if that's the size you want it. I would have to get a piece of thick cardboard or foamboard to pin my strips to in order to keep them straight as I wove them.
    I see your "Quiet Please Filming in Progress" sign!! But why is it in the room instead of on the outside of the door 🤣🤣

    Jean I'm just getting over doing the same thing. I think we're packing up some knickknacks to have the living room painted and a new floor and I have been lifting a lot and I think maybe that is what caused it. I wanted to scream the other day getting in the car and getting out was so much worse. I put ice on it and didn't do much. I did take some Aleve and that helped me. It has taken at least a couple of weeks to get better. I'm finally able to move that leg some but it is still a little sore. Try some Aleve and rest it for 2 days and then try moving around. Good luck. Let me know how you do. I think as we get older you can get out of bed and don't know what happens. Hope you feel better.

If the straps are all the same width on both of your mug rugs, the one with longer straps will require more straps to weave down the length of the straps. I hope that makes sense. It sounds like your hip may be out of alignment. It may also be called sciatica. A chiropractor should be able to help you get realigned.
    This is what Google says about sciatica:
    “Yes, sciatica can cause pain in the groin area. Sciatica is a general term for pain that radiates from the lower back and down the leg. Because the sciatic nerve connects to nerves in the groin, pain from sciatica can be felt in the groin.”
    My mom used to get this a lot and then the chiropractor would give her an adjustment and she would be fine for a while. It may take several visits at first, bc your muscles get used to being stretched a certain way, and will try to bring the alignment back to what they are used to. Until they get used to things being in the proper place. Does that make sense?
    I’m so sorry you are going thru this. 🤗

I fought it because I did not think anything of it because it came on suddenly and out of the blue. I researched and it was one of the symptoms of needing a hip replacement or something called gleuteal tendinopathy. Turns out my hip was so degenerated with lots of bone spurs which was causing the sharp pain among other things. I bit the bullet and ended up having the surgery to replace the left hip and an 4 weeks out from the surgery and doing well. Bottom line, go for an xray at the very least

    I hope your feeling better. I have no clue how to help you with your injury or as to why your square is not really square. I do like the idea of the woven mug rug and will be waiting to see your next video on how you did them. They both look square to me. Did enjoy your video. This is the first time I’ve seen you and can’t wait to watch you again. Feel better!!
