The one hiccup that I found frustrating was that the ROON Essentials app seemed to be an afterthought and was not addressed simultaneously with the full ROON update. Users were locked out of using the device for I believe was near ten days to two weeks before access to the device could be re-established. That’s just unacceptable and there should be a discussion about converting ROON Essentials to the full version even if for a nominal fee that was suggested by the VP of Elac at launch but then was buried. It looks like ROON Essentials only exists with this device implementation and the folks at ROON made the call to treat it like a red headed stepchild. I do love the device and the interface as it gave me the ROON experience-albeit watered down- with a high quality streamer as I don’t use the server aspect of the device. The internal DAC is solid and very enjoyable and can be bypassed with the digital outs. But it was made clear to me Discovery users are only another ROON update away from being locked out again- rendering it a giant paperweight unless updated specifically. I can’t imagine them keeping this up for the very limited number of users that own this specific device...
Does in see/ support Roon Bridge? I have researched and get contradictory advice on the net. For ropiee etc.? I know it works with airplay, but will in see it as a roon ready, the way it works on the full Roon?
